Noctis stood outside of the building that supposedly housed the office of the info broker who, judging from what Lea said, was the same guy he had seen at the supermarket. He wasn't sure if this was the right place but he was getting desperate. He'd been unable to check on his family in months and all of his contacts had dried up. He wasn't sure where they had gone but it hardly mattered anymore, he just needed some way of finding out.
He sighed and proceeded into the building, continuing to walk until he came face to face with the door that the rumours had described. Hoping that he hadn't been led on some wild goose chase he knocked upon the door in order to see if anyone was inside.

Izaya watched as Noctis approached; from his window, he could see anyone walking up the walkway.
Now this was a surprise. He spun back around to face the room.
"Come in," he called out, his words coming exactly as Noctis knocked at the door.

Noctis was a tad surprised as the voice called out just as he knocked on the door. However he didn't waste any time and quickly entered, his eyes going to the window and guessed that Izaya had seen him coming though there was no guarantee. He nodded in greeting and closed the door behind him before walking towards the man. "Izaya, right?" Noctis asked, remembering the name that he had given to himself and the others when he had last seen Izaya.

He smiled.
"That's me; Izaya Orihara. I take it you have some use for my particular talents?" He laid his hands calmly on his desk.
This was a valid customer; there was no need to play unnecessary games.

While there was indeed something off about Izaya, he seemed to be fairly straightforward. Granted, it was nothing more than a simple business transaction. "Yeah, I'm looking to check on my family and I would prefer it if they didn't know. My old sources have disappeared and I've heard you're pretty good at what you do. " He said simply, just coming straight out with what he wanted. He had worked double shifts for over a month in the hopes of acquiring enough funds to be able to cover the cost of the information.

He nodded.
"Family, you say?" His words were spoken low, as if he were talking to himself. "Worried that they may have suffered some mischief while you were locked away?"

Noctis really shouldn't have been surprised at Izaya's words, but after doing his best to keep that information secret it knocked him a little off guard for someone he'd only seen once to know what had happened to him. "Considering who locked me away, I wouldn't put it past him. He's a sick bastard." He said, watching Izaya carefully for any change in his demeanour. Some may call him overly cautious but one didn't spend a year on the run without being wary of who or what you weren't familiar with.

Izaya laughed softly.
"No need to worry about me. I certainly have no business with that man," he replied. "Don't worry; I'll find the inormation on your family in no time at all; such an easy job won't even be all that expensive. How much can you aford to pay? I'm sure we can reach some form of deal."
He was already focused on the screen of his computer - an odd thing, as most demons had either a distaste for or little skill with modern, human technology. Izaya, though, didn't seem to have any such aversions.

It was true that as a waiter Noctis didn't make much, but after working so hard he had accumulated a decent amount in a short time. "I have $4,560 at the moment. I'll also pay extra to keep this information out of the wrong hands." He said, grateful that Izaya would be able to find out the information relatively easily. However he also wanted to make sure that whatever information was discovered was kept safe as well.

"Why, Noctis, you positively wound me," Izaya said without looking up from his computer screen. "Confidentiality is a vital part of my business. If I went around telling everyone about the things I learn for people, I would have much more to worry about than simple loss of customers."
He turned towards Noctis. "Anyway, my usual fee for this sort of work is around six hundred dollars for every hour I spend tracking down the information; luckily, this sort of info is easily found, so you won't have to pay me more than the six hundred."
He held out a hand. "I only take cash, however."

Noctis had to admit that he was glad to hear that even without the incentive the information would remain safe and out of Hojo's hands. "I apologize, I just have to be careful. You understand." He said as he reached for his wallet, he quickly removed the cash before handing it to Izaya.

He smiled.
"Of course. It's often I deal with those who have never used services like mine. I may sell information to the highest bidder - but even I have some form of standards."
A few mouseclicks, some rapid typing, and Izaya was smiling.
"Your family appears to be doing well," he said. "There's an article here.... 'The wealthy Caelum family recently welcomed a new member - the baby girl, who will follow the family's Latin naming tradition, is called 'Aurorae Lucis Caelum', which translates roughly to 'Lights of the dawn sky'. The Caelums are still mourning for their son, Noctis Lucis Caelum, who disappeared mysteriously several years ago, and is presumed dead. However, they say that with the birth of little Aurorae, they will finally be able to put that dark chapter of their past behind them'."
Izaya chuckled.
"How cute; congratulations, Noctis. As of..." he checked the date stamp, "...two weeks ago? You're a big brother."
Some more typing.
"Currently, they live in California on the family estate; I'm sure you know that address. I've also got their private phone number, cell numbers for your mother and father, and private and work emails for both your parents, if any of that is information you're interested in."
He turned toward Noctis, resting his head on one palm and grinning; the look on his face clearly expected Noctis to feel impressed, shocked, or both.

Noctis was indeed quite surprised at the news, the chaotic emotions causing his eyes to switch from blue to red and back repeatedly. A younger sibling, only two weeks old as well. He had to admit that he felt a tad conflicted. He was glad that they were able to move on, ecstatic in fact. But at the same time he was disappointed that he could no longer be part of that simple life nor ever lay eyes on his baby sister. When Izaya offered him their emails and phone numbers he shook his head. "Thanks for the offer but no. It's for the best." He thought for a moment, this predicament reminding him of an acquaintance of his. Specifically something in her memories. "Izaya, do you know anything about the CIA? Specifically Project Vakarian?"

Izaya's eyes narrowed and his whole body went on alert.
"Depends on if you're able to pay for that information," he said, sitting back up, leaning forward, hands interlaced. "The sudden change of topic, however, suggests that that question isn't yours to be asking, now is it?"

The way Izaya's eyes narrowed immediately gave off an air of danger and the irises of his eyes progressed entirely into red instead of flickering back and forth. His own body tensed as he watched Izaya carefully, his fingers itching to grip the hilt of a sword that wasn't there. "No, it's not. I have...a friend. You probably know of her already but the CIA has taken some interest in her. Especially in relation to that project." He told Izaya, watching carefully for the other man's reaction.
