He smiled. "Anything, hmmm?" he asked. "Dangerous promise... I just might hold you to that." He grinned. "Actually, that would do nicely... a blank check on your life, how perfect! Are you sure you don't want to quantify that, Miss Brea? 'I will do anything x amount of times' or so forth? Or would you rather me leave you hanging, letting you know when the debt is paid?"
He grinned. Oh, he knew she wouldn't allow him to trick her into that sort of bargain anyway, so there was no harm in coaching her into a better deal. Besides, it would be amusing to see the look on her face when and if she realized how big a blunder she had almost made.

I sighed with relief. Maybe he wasn't as bad as people made him out to be. "Ok, thank you." I thought for a moment. "No murder, no stealing, no kidnapping, nothing that could have me land right in the CIA's hands," I looked down at my hands. "and whatever you need me to do must be brought up in the next three months."
That sounded good enough. "Sound good?

"It indeed sounds like a fair trade," he admitted. "You have a deal. The man who paid your fee for you was a member of the Network named Noctis Caelum. Are you also interested in learning what he paid for the information?" His was a cruel smirk.

Noctis? Really? He's going to hear about this. "Idiot." I muttered to myself. Why would he do that? I didn't want him involved, whether he helped or not.
I looked back up to Izaya, that devilish grin couldn't be good... "What did Noctis pay?"

"Noctis paid me in talent," he replied, still grinning. "His ability is quite a useful one... so he has agreed to work with me until his debt is repaid." He inspected his fingernails. "Or, should I say..." he glanced up at her, his mouth slowly curving into a grin even eviller than the one he was wearing before, "...until your debt is paid?"

Definitely going to kill Noctis when I get back to the apartment. How could he be so dumb?
"So now what?" I watched him carefully. I couldn't be too careful with him now.

"Now what what?" He had apparently lost interest in her, having stood to watch out his window. "Is there anything else you wanted to buy? Or perhaps you're only here to enjoy the pleasure of my company?" He looked back over his shoulder at her.

I scoffed in disgust at the thought of me 'enjoying his company'. "Yeah, because you are such a wonderful person to be around." I said sarcastically before adding "What I meant was, are we done here?"
It was strange how quickly my opinion changed about her, fear, liking and then despising. Strange.

He waved a hand. "As long as you're done with my services, then I suppose we are." He left the window, walking over to her. He held out a hand. "It's been a pleasure doing business with you... until next time, then?" His perpetual smirk had replaced the evil grin.

I watched his hand and reluctantly shook it. "Until next time." I said.
I quickly turned and left the building. It was time for me to go and pay Noctis a visit. How could he doing something so stupid? Idiot, idiot, idiot. I quickly made my way towards the apartment building.
