Howdy!
Okay guys, I'm here with more than just a music video today, I'm here with a message which I can almost guarantee most if not all of you will agree with because I know for a fact you're all top people. But! I think it's important I say it anyways. Now, whilst I'd rather you listen to the music rather than reading me rant on, I need to say that this video really isn't for the weak-hearted, it is a sad song and video and I won't lie, it's reverted me to tears once, and I like to say I'm pretty thick skinned!
Now, I'm sure some of you will know more about the matter than me, but September's Children refers to those who took their own lives due to homophobia in an influx of suicides in September 2010. Now I may be wrong there, but I'm sure that's what I read somewhere. Now. It doesn't take a genius for me to say that I'm against homophobia in any way, shape or form. I've dated a bisexual in the past and the things that she went through were horrible, they were things I'd never wish upon anything and obviously it's not my place to say what those things were.
I understand that I don't want to be depressing everyone here and I apologize if that's what I or Rise Against have done, but I just want to leave you with one small fact before I drop off something a bit cheery-er.
Homosexuality is evident in over 425 species on Earth.
Homophobia is evident in 1.
Which one is un-natural now?
ANYWAYS.
Cheer up now! :')

Yeah, I think we can all agree to the whole bullying is bad thing, I know plenty of people who almost took their lives because of bullying, luckily none of them actually followed through with it.

*Nod* A friend of mine suffered due to someone taking their life. It's an unfortunate thing that happens. But all we can do is listen to the Duck Song, be the best human beings we can be and try to let people know the world isn't as bad as they think!

Why? That's all I ask.
What God would allow this to happen and ENDORSE it? Just because someone is homosexual or bisexual doesn't give people a free pass to bully them. I don't care what Religion you follow this is wrong and I don't think a loving god would condemn one of his creations just because he or she loved someone of the same sex.
I'm not trying to turn this into a discussion, I'm just saying how I feel.

Yes, bullying is a HATE CRIME.
HATE CRIMES are meant to be illegal and have the jerks whom do it put away.
RELIGION is meant to make better people.
NOT better Bullies.
I've been down the road where I was victimized.
A girl being called a man.
A Christan being called a devil's worshiper.
I've helped many a person through their thoughts of suicide.
I've received more than just direct bullying from jerks though.
At one point in time... I was getting the "I love you" Bullying which turned into "If you don't love me back I'll kill myself"...
I understand Bullies as well, I was one at one point.
I'm sure we all were, we're not perfect, nor do we realize that things we may take as funny may hurt others in the end. But unlike those whom had attacked me in the past, I made sure that the words I said weren't too hurtful. I never wanted to hurt anyone.
ESPECIALLY NOT THROUGH BULLYING THEM!
I understand both sides of the path, but the pain will always out way the pleasure. So when I see someone being bullied I stand up and try to correct the situation. If an adult won't do it, I will. I'm pretty good at twisting words around and avoiding physical fights, so... Sometimes it works, other times I'm too late to help, but the notion at least gives the victim a little hope.
Even if they push me away at the time, they usually either thank me later or come to my side when they don't feel safe.
I can't be everywhere, not in my school, not in my city, and most definitely not in the whole world. But... If we all cared just a little bit. Even just the tiniest bit. We would be saving so much more.
We may gain a friend.
We may SAVE a life.
That's what anti-HATE CRIMES is.
That's what RELIGION is.
That's the kindness of human natures.
Lets make it the essence.
*nods*
*Leaves thread for now*

Oh man Namine, I'm so sorry you went through that. *Huggles*
If I lived where you did, I'd back you up 110%.
I'm just mad over the fact that people use religion as an excuse to bully these people.
One more time. *Huggles*

...........*JUMP-TACKLE-HUGS WRESIE* THis post. RIGHT HERE. Is this forum's OFFICIAL Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.*huggle* Also... Wresie. Tha'ts awful, that someone did that to you. I've been subjected to a fair amount of abuse in my life, verbal and physical, friendship and otherwise. It does get better. And they're experiences that have helped me help people. I used to get teased mercilessly; I moved to where I'm living now, and things... things were just the same until I entered High School. Say as many bad things as you want about my high school (which kinda sucked) but for every bully clique that riiculed me, there was a friendly one that took me in. I went from being a friendless 'loser' to someone who had a bunch of friends - oh, I was never popular, but none of us were. And somehow... I guess it made me realize that 'loser' is your perspective, Loser is what you make of it. *nod* SO.... everyone! Keep on going. Get back up, go at it again. Find crazy loons like us to hang out with. Life gets better.

Yup yup! N'awwww Wresie *Huggle* Bullying shouldn't be tolerated in any way shape or form. And that's why the itgetsbetter.org project cheers me up so much. A collective of people from bands like Rise Against, to politicians like Barack Obama, down to your YouTube vloggers coming together to stand up to this. As someone says in that video. "Never underestimate the kindness of another Human Being"

Hugs all around? -hugs everyone-
Jordan, that first video you posted is really touching. And Wresie, what a beautiful, beautiful post. I applaud you. <3
I completely and whole-heartedly agree--bullying is wrong, and under no circumstances should it be tolerated. D: But it's really wonderful what society today is doing to help. From getting educated about the issue to sharing an anti-bullying video, every little bit matters. It's truly amazing how far an act of kindness can go. :') Let's keep it up, you guys! <3
