Just on the outskirts of the city. Not far from the currently ongoing masquerade, stood Kyoshiro. He had been present at the party but he hadn't enjoyed the atmosphere, too much drama. He stood with his violin and bow in hand, the instrument raised to his chin as he drew the bow across the strings gracefully. Long, elegant fingers tuned the strings to the right notes as he played a slow and almost mournful melody. His glasses were tucked in a breast pocket and his eyes were closed as he played, he hated and loved this melody, it was so interesting to play, so thought provoking, but it almost always brought him to tears.
The tale of the tune can be interpreted at the listeners will, but many hear the tale of heartbreak and mourning as the notes echo around the outskirts of the city. In Kyoshiro's case he heard sympathy and pity. A mourning for all those taken far too early, not just those he knew, but for the people of this earth as a whole. Drawing out the last note he stood stock still for a brief moment, before lowering the violin and looking out at the night with a sigh.
"I doth always preferred the rising of the moon over that of the sun..." Sir Alastair said as he appeared next to the General. "Indeed Sir Givven." Kyoshiro said aloud, not worried about anyone hearing in the expansive wastes of the outskirts "It doth hold within me, a sense of home, the sun was dead to me when my life was lost, and the lunar light was my companion" Kyoshro stared up at the spirit and smiled, not a fake one like those he'd been giving members of The Network, a genuine one that highlighted the features of his face "She does seem more beautiful than her brother..." he sighed, looking up at the moon.

I was used to not being able to sleep, by now. Nightmares come easily to me, especially on nights like this one, with Christmas not too far around the corner and everyone else having fun with their families. I'd seen the advertisement for the Masquerade going on, but I wasn't really into crowds and parties.
I don't deal well with other people.
It was the sound of a violin that drew me out into the city's outskirts - the sound of sadness and sorrow, something that I knew all too well. I'd never heard the song before, but it felt like I'd been listening to it for years in my dreams.
It was surprising, when I finally found the man playing it; I'd met him the other day, at the store, but I didn't really know what he was about.
The silhouette of a fuzzy, irrenderable space appeared next to him, and I heard a bzzing, as if a conversation was hapening just out of my hearing... except that the purple-haired man was replying to it. I wondered if he had anything to do with the "Otherworld" that I had heard about.

Kyoshiro spun around, almost gracefully. Ducking low to the ground his hand graced it in a smooth glide before standing up straight, katana suddenly in hand and unsheathed, pointing at the young Haraken. Sir Alastair had shifted into his mask and had summoned himself into Kyoshiro's hand. Ayanōkoji lowered the blade slightly upon noting who it was it was pointed at. "You..." he said bluntly looking down at the violin he held in his free hand before swiftly turning and packing it away in his case.
He'd been stood alone whilst he played for a reason.
Turning back to Haraken he picked up the sheath for his katana and slid the weapon gracefully back into it's hold. "What are you doing out here..?" he asked, his mask dispersing and Sir Givven taking his place at his side, clutching a sheathed longsword in a similar manner as to how Kyoshiro held his own blade.

I was startled by his sudden reaction, and how quickly he'd moved... as well as the mask that had appeared in place of the giant distortion in space. I could see it a little more clearly now, but not really.
I shrugged.
"Insomnia," I replied, my eyes casually flicking to the distorted space standing next to him, almost, but not quite, able to make out the shape of what stood there before it flickered back into fuzzy, indistinguishable static. "I heard... I heard the music. I came looking for it."

Kyoshiro nodded slowly, still not letting go of his sword or moving to take his place by his violin again, if anything he had seemed to position himself in between Haraken and the instrument. "I see..." he muttered, his eyes flicking momentarily to where the young boy was looking, right at Sir Givven and it made his instantly suspicious, could this boy see the spirit? He remembered what had happened back in the All-mart.
'There's something stood behind you' he had typed onto that screen, and here he was, once again acknowledging the presence of the knight. No-one had ever taken note of Alastair except him and to say that he was curious as to how he could see him would be an understatement, but, he clearly recognized him as something other than a person, he had referred to him as 'Something' in the All-mart...
"Tell me..." he said, his hands creeping tighter around his blade, Sir Givven edging closer to him, ready to shift into his mask form and fight in Kyoshiro's place. "On my left... You can see something, can't you?"

I paused, then nodded.
"Yeah," I said. "I can't see what it is, though." I paused again, trying to search for an analogy; I don't like talking to people. But I decided that I should give an explanation. "It's these," I said, tapping the glasses. "I changed their programming, and now they sometimes see things no one else can. Sometimes, those things are clear. Others, they're just static that I can't focus my eyes on. It's like trying to look at a window, instead of through it."

Kyoshiro narrowed his eyes for a moment whilst he gave a hum, trying to think of some solution. He prided himself on being quite the technical whizz. Being a sort of assassin he had to be prepared for anything, and lots of demons were grasping onto technology in order to survive when they crossed. Approaching Haraken he attached the sheath to his waist and motioned for Sir Givven to follow, trying to discover the issue.
He held a hand out to Haraken "May I..?"

I paused; I didn't often take them off anymore, and I was worried about what he would do. Then I shrugged, because I wasn't going to be able to figure any of this out on my own, and removed them, handing them over to the man.
"Here," I said. "They're durable... but the programming is fragile."

"I'll be cautious..." he said with a small smile before placing the glasses over his eyes, it took him a brief moment to understand how properly to work the system but he quickly grasped a hold of the controls and was opening up the command bar. "Sir Givven." he called, the knight approaching him and bowing to Kyoshiro.
"What doth you require, Lord Ayanōkoji?" he asked but Kyoshiro waved him down and held out a hand, Alastair forming himself into his mask and placing himself into the Jōto section officer's hand. Kyoshiro's free hand came down to the mask and grabbed at nothing, but through the glasses he could see the fuzzy energy around it and understood the young Haraken's confusion. Pulling away a miniscule amount of the knights spirit he held it in front of the glasses, scanning and storing an image away he nodded at his swift grasp of how to use the system.
Restoring the piece of the spirits soul, he opened the image and increased the zoom on it, until the fuzzyness occupied most of his sight, from there he pulled apart individual wispy strands, which combined with his ability to see spirits, allowed him to recognize as his DNA. Typing in a few swift commands, he hoped his plan worked. Removing the glasses, he marveled at how technologically advanced they were. He had only scratched the surface just now, and he wasn't going to lie, he admired the boys mastery of them.
Holding them out for Haraken to take, he smiled, not quite as warm as the one Alastair had received earlier, but not as cold as those the Network received. "Here you go" he said with a nod "I'm not even 50% sure that will work, a standard living human's DNA is nigh impossible to put into coding, but a spirits? It's slightly easier, they don't have a physical body so there's much less of it, only the soul, which is shockingly similar to computer code!"

"Spirits?" I asked, surprised, taking them back from him. I hadn't seen what he'd been doing, since I wasn't wearing the glasses... although, there'd been some kind of a distortion.... I didn't think about it. I wasn't sure, anymore, that I really wanted to know; if it weren't for Kanna...
I put the glasses back on... and stepped backward.
Standing where the blurry mass of static had once been was a fairly clear outline - sort of - of a man in armor. It was still staticky, still indistinct - I couldn't really make out any specific features or details, but it was obviously a man in armor.
"Whoa."

Kyoshiro looked at Haraken's reaction and nodded, he had sort of expected something like that and he turned to look at Sir Givven who simply nodded. "I'm not sure if you'll be able to hear him speak, but all the same, allow me to introduce you to Sir Alastair Givven, Templar Knight and Crusader who fell outside of Acre" the Knight bowed to the boy. "My pleasure" he said. Kyoshiro had no idea if the knight could be heard, but all the same it wouldn't hurt to try.
"Can you hear him?"

I listened; I thought, at one point, I heard something,but...
I shook my head. "Only a buzzing noize, like... someone talking a long way away, where you can hear something but can't make out the words." I paused. "Is he a... ghost? ANd if so... how can I see him?"

Kyoshiro smiled. He expected as such.
"Me and Sir Givven dislike the term 'Ghost' it's one usually associated with evil spirits and ghouls and so on so forth, same with 'Shade' I myself just call him a spirit and if that does not suffice, I call him simply by his name, as if her were still alive." he looked across at Haraken "A human body is built upon DNA, a basic science fact, the soul is the same, but it is constructed of much simpler strands, which in turn are much easier to see and manipulate, hence forth why Alastair can turn into a mask, possess me, fight by me or even become my weapon. This makes it much easier to turn into coding, I haven't quite grasped it yet, the Jotō section has only recently started experimenting with it."

I leaned back against the wall, thinking for a moment.
"What's 'Joto Section'?" I asked. "ANd could this... 'spirit DNA' have something to do with the way I can now see..." What had that one person called them? "...demons?"

Kyoshiro obviously couldn't disclose just exactly what his organization was, not right now, he wasn't sure of the boys allegiance but he could at least tell him why he couldn't say. "Jotō section is an organization that works alongside the Network, but they operate under the strictest of security and I'm already breaching rules by telling someone outside of the Network that they even exist..." Sir Givven nodded beside him.
"As for demons? I doubt that has to do with spirit DNA, otherwise it would just be you and your magic glasses that could see them. Anyone can see demons if they are willing to show themselves... But I doubt Spirit DNA had anything to do with that, I only just gave you the ability to see the spirits of Sir Givven... Why, do you have questions?"
