It wasn't much of a surprise that he was walking up to a certain info broker's office. It wasn't a surprise that he was sneaking out of his leader's sight to do so. What did surprise him was that everything from his last visit hadn't changed at all. He took it as a sign that the demon behind the door was still the same. Damon smiled to himself. He hoped so.
The last time he was here he'd been on order from Sin and under the demon's watch as he dealt with the mysterious informant. That time he'd had to fulfill his role as the loyal follower and watch without much of a word. But today he was here on his own agenda, free from any orders. Now it was time for Damon to meet Izaya personally and be able to do and say as he wished. He expected it to be an interesting day.
Without bothering to knock Damon opened the door and stepped inside. His currently black eyes settled on the info broker, and he smiled, "Izaya Orihara. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

There were very few things that could turn Izaya's half-smirk into a different expression, at least in front of others. Meeting with Shizuo or making a particularly interesting deal often elicited a devilish grin; an involved search for information or dive through his extensive archive would show him with a deeply thoughful expression.
There was, however, only one thing that brought about a true frown on Izaya's face. His brows narrowed, and his eyes gleamed red; his fingers steepled in front of him. His relaxed posture was eloquently unthreatened, and simultaneously threatening.
Debtors.
"So it has," he replied, the intensity of his gaze entirely focused on Damon. "Your master is treading on thin ice, and I deal not with servants. If he wishes to negotiate a bargain, he can come see my himself."

He placed his hands in his pockets and leaned back, "Well that's not my problem, now is it? Sin's made his own issues, and I can promise you that I'm not going to fix them." Damon shrugged and then looked back to Izaya, "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not here to play the follower act today. No, I've come with only my own interests."

One of Izaya's delicate eyebrows rose into an arch, and he leaned somewhat forward in his seat, elbows coming to rest on his desk.
"Really, now?" he asked, his tone betraying a note of interest, though only a note; everything else about Izaya spoke of boredom. "You actually have interests of your own?" His accustomed smirk locked itself frimly back into place with a skeptical gleam. "I'm impressed."

"Surely you aren't comparing me to those with the mentality of a lesser demon?" Damon laughed, amused, "Come on, Izaya, don't stereotype me. Those are fools, a waste of existence. I could easily wrap them around my finger and manipulate their pathetic minds if I wanted. Unlike them, I'm not one to simply obey and never question and be dragged around for centuries."
He grinned, showing off pointed teeth, and moved farther into the room, "Why take orders and always agree to a master's goal? Why not have your own mind?" Damon stopped in front of Izaya's desk, "Life is much more exciting that way."

"I wouldn't dream of stereotyping you," Izaya replied, swinging his legs up to rest on his desk as he leaned back in his chair, narrowly avoiding kicking Damon in the process. "Exciting? Perhaps. But your rhetoric is boring me, Damon. State your business, if you think it will amuse me more, or stop wasting my time." He raised his arms in an expansive shrug before crossing them in front of his chest, gazing up at Damon from under his eyelids.

Damon placed his palms on the desk where Izaya's feet didn't occupy the space. "Shiki Misaki. What's Sin got planned for her?" He'd admit, it was an obvious question. But the answer would determine how he played his cards in the near future. "And what are the possible out comes of this charade? How close is Sin to winning?" Yes, Damon was asking a lot, he wasn't sure what the cost would be. But he wasn't worried, compared to the information his master had asked for, this was nothing.

Izaya's eyebrow raised even further, and he refused to move his feet an inch.
"What, the peons aren't trusted?" he asked, sounding amused.

"Sin goes by the motto, 'Be suspicious of everyone, even those you trust most.' He's careful about letting out information, even to me. And if he does fall, well I'm not going down with him." Damon smiled, narrowing his eyes, "I guess you could say this is the most efficient way of me getting my answers."

He smiled, amused.
"I might be able to retrieve that information for you," he said carefully, not mentioning that he already had such information, "but it won't be cheap... and, because of your previous, shall we say, credit rating, I require payment in advance."
His eyes narrowed, his smile widened - he looked like a cat with a mouse in his trap.
"Of course, if you're as much of a coward as your master, you're free to walk right out that door with empty hands...."

Damon simply grinned, pushing himself off the desk and standing up straight again. He'd been wondering if this would happen, but no matter. As long as Izaya would hand him the information he needed, all would be fine, "What do you need?"

"Do you know of the group of Otherborn that call themselves 'the Network'?" he asked, tilting his head and looking sideways at Damon.

"I've heard a good bit about them." He watched Izaya, interested in what the info broker was up to.

He smiled.
"If you know anything about the Network, you'll know they're headquartered here in Urbadelphia. Under the shepherding eyes of their precious Watchers, they grow and thrive, dedicated to taking out evil wherever it stands." He stood, began to pace the room. "Where demons rear their ugly heads, the Network is always one step behind to destroy them and clean up the mess. All of this is spearheaded by one man, his seat of power here in Urbadelphia, but his reach extending across the known world." He scooped up a chesspiece - a white king - from his game board as he passed, flicking it through his fingers the way a magician would a coin.
"Do you know his identity?" Izaya asked, suddenly turning on Damon. "Does anyone?" He spun in place, extending his arms, then sliding one into his pocket as he leaned forward, waving the chesspiece in Damon's face. "Very, very few, but I do. Neku Sakuraba, aged sixteen, senior in high school and..."
He grinned.
"....Head Watcher. The Network's administrator. The keypin to all its dealings. I need you to follow him for me - to trace his whereabouts, his activities. Recently, he participated in a raid against a common enemy of ours, but I want to know what he's been doing afterwards. Who does he live with? Where does he spend his free time? Who are his friends, his enemies, where does he eat... everything, down to the last detail, even and especially how he acts towards others. Come back in a week's time and tell me what you've learned, and I'll give you the information you seek."

He wanted to laugh. Tailing someone? He'd expected something more difficult. Following people around, it seemed like that was all he ever did. But he wasn't complaining, especially if he was assured his part of the deal. No doubt that Izaya had something else for him to do as well afterwards, but once again there was no worry.
"Track and report, huh? Simple enough." Damon shrugged, "If I really cared about why you're so interested, I'd ask. But I don't. I'll get what you need and be back in a week." He paused, "Anything important I need to know about this kid?"
