Name: Gaara
Age: 19
Race: Human?
Appearance: Gaara is a tall and somewhat lanky young men who regularly covers himself in red and white clothing. He has red, short spiked hair along with pale green eyes which are surrounded with thick black lines. There are two more notable traits that Gaara has which make him distinctly recognizable, the first is the large gourd around the same size as Gaara's torso strapped across his back. Secondly, and most recognizably is the fact that he has the kanji 'ai' (translated as 'Love') carved into his forehead, which Gaara did when he was young.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral with Chaotic Evil tendencies
Power: Gaara is bonded with the Sand Demon Shukaku, which controls the sand hidden within his gourd. Shukaku uses the sand like a shield, blocking any strikes that even come near Gaara. On top of that, Gaara can control the sand himself in a number of attacks and defenses. He constantly covers himself in a thin layer of sand, which acts like armor, constantly protecting him from any attacks which manage to somehow manage to break through Shukaku's own defense. One of his favorite moves, is to cover someones limbs in sand, and then compress it, breaking the bones. He calls this move the 'Sand Burial'. Finally, in extreme cases, Shukaku can actually take over Gaara's body and make him even stronger.
Personality: Gaara is sick and twisted. His upbringing has forced him to believe that nobody loves him, and as such, he can often be heard saying 'Love oneself' meaning that he is the only person in the world that cares for himself, and he is the only person in the world he should care for. Underneath his sandy exterior however, he is a very fragile young boy, yearning for friendship and companionship. Unfortunately, Shukaku defends him doggedly and it is difficult for anyone to get past the demented sociopath that is Gaara.
Origin: Naruto Shippuden
History: Gaara comes from a village hidden within the Sahara Desert. The village consists mainly of Otherborn who use their abilities to make sure that the village and its people are protected from those who dare make a move against it. As of yet, none have managed to conquer the village. Gaara was an attempt by his father, the leader of the village at the time, to be the ultimate defense and weapon. His father summoned the great sand demon Shukaku and then sealed it within his son, making him the Jinchuriki (The power of human sacrifice) before he was even born.
With Shukaku sealed within him, Gaara was born into the world and the entire process of it killed his mother. His father cared little and had others raise his son in order to make him a ruthless killing machine. The best of his tutors was his uncle, Yashamaru, who loved and cared for Gaara as his sister would have wanted, but then, under the orders of his Brother-In-Law, he tried to assassinate Gaara and told him that nobody loved him, all of it, a lie of course, to make Gaara a cold and heartless killer. It worked. Gaara carved the kanji for love into his forehead and threw all of his weight into his training.
When Gaara turned 18, his father told him that there were three other spirits like Shukaku (Protector). These were Fukushu (Avenger), Koibito (Lover) and Sentoki (Fighter). His father told him that at least one of these spirits were sealed in a boy from a small city called Urbadelphia. Gaara was to find the boy and take his spirit, becoming stronger, at this point Gaara was cold-hearted and believed that the only reason he existed was to kill. He was happy to oblige his fathers orders and hunt down whatever spirit it was that was hiding within Urbadelphia.
