A Mysterious Message (Joshua/Genesis)

[Joshua Kiryu]

He glanced down at his phone with a slight smirk. One of its perks was that it worked in any dimension with cell towers - and it could send messages to anyone eh'd met once before. It had been a gift from a certain man, just before they'd parted ways.

Currently it was displaying,

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

"What a dull night... All of the interesting people are probably sleeping..." I sigh out as I take a step out of the streetlight I was passing under. Then a vibration from my pocket as my tone went off. "Oh?" I pull it out and flip the phone open, illuminating my face and stinging my eyes.

You said you wanted to meet again. I'll be on a roof. -J

"...J?" I chuckle lightly. "Don't know how that squirt got my number... But I've been waiting for a reunion." I didn't need a name. Pressing my forefingers to my forehead, I thrust it to my right, my long, graying wing protruding from my back now. And I take to the sky.

As it turns out, he was on the building top just beside me. I give a soft smile to the boy, remaining in the air. "Long-time no-see, Joshua... How have you been?"

[Joshua Kiryu]

"Oh, you know," he replied, smirking, wings fanned out behind him. "Just watching and waiting... until I'm found, I have plenty of time."

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

"Heheh... But of course. You're a fun-seeker..." This boy was always interesting. And he was definitely going to take the bore out of the night. I take land on the edge of the building and seat myself with legs off the edge. "Why did you take an interest in me tonight, Joshua?"

[Joshua Kiryu]

"I've been thinking," he replied, staring off into the distance. "I was thinking about our last conversation, Genesis. I've been thinking about what we both need..."

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

This soft smile wouldn't leave my face. What we both need, eh? "Does this mean that you, too, require the Gift of the Goddess?" That is what I needed. It was all I needed. I stare into the moon high above us as I ask.

[Joshua Kiryu]

"You seek the Gift Of the Goddess because you wish to find it before you die. What you need is more time, to find what you seek," he said. "I want to find a way back home... what I need, then, is a way to increase my own power in order to call out to the only being who could retrieve me." he smirked. "Perhaps we each hold the solution to the other's problems..."

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

Now I offer a smirk that this boy usually held. "Time in exchange for power...? But power takes time, my friend. I'd just be giving you what you gave me back... I don't very much like giving without receiving, Mr. Kiryu.. Perhaps you should elaborate."

[Joshua Kiryu]

"Perhaps I should," hesaid, pulling himself to his feet. "The truth is, Genesis, that I'm less human than you are." I smirked. "But most of my power comes from a place that simply doesn't exist here in this world. However, if I could bring a piece of that place here, I could overwrite the rules this place is enforcing on m, allowing more of my power to come through." He gave Genesis a sly, assessing look. "The best way to do that would be to bring an element of that place into this world, and the easiest way for me to do that would be to corrupt a living being with my own blood. Of course, the process could have unfortunate side effects, the most common of which is a significant increase of the recipient's lifespan..."

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

A sly grin crosses my face. "A very tempting offer, my boy..." I turn away from the moon to give him an inquisitive look. "And just what do you intend to do with that power, anyway? Something drastic?"

[Joshua Kiryu]

"Oh, no, nothing drastic as such." He laughed. "I'm just going to call for a ride home, as it were. Of course, it'll take some time to arrive and there's just so many interesting things to do here..." He smirked, chuckling. "So, are you interested?"

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

"Heheh..." I shake my head and hold my hands up, almost as a shrug. "With an offer like that, I don't know how I can refuse. A longer lifespan means less degradation, more than likely.. And I'd appreciate that."

[Joshua Kiryu]

"I'll throw in a bonus, just for free," he said. "If you wish, I could probably take you home with me. Your Soul is unique; I've never seen it in my world. I'm sure I could convince my ride to bring you."

He examined the skyline intently.

[Genesis Rhapsodos]

"What an offer..." I reply in a flat tone. Half of me considered it. I almost considered this child a kindred spirit. "But why would you want that? Why would I want that? I don't quite understand your intent, you see... I try not to agree to things I don't really understand."

[Joshua Kiryu]

He laughed.

"I told you, Genesis, I'm not human. When I return home, I'll have my full power back... I could stop the degradation for good. Turn you into a being that will, essentially, live forever."
