"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Bart held his hands to his hips in a defiant pose, lips pulled into a straight line. His eyes wandered the earth surrounding them, wincing at the sight of the dead gray grass that wilted around them. They hadn't much time, Bart had to remind himself. It was now or never.
"There's no way for me to get you back."
"Does this really look like a future worth returning to?" Bart snapped, his eyes hard as they flickered over to the cloaked otherborn that stood before him.
The otherborn didn't react at all. Even with her hidden eyes behind a hood, the speedster was certain she was giving him an impatient look. Almost insisting him to to hurry his choice.
He slipped his eyes shut before slipping out a quiet sigh. "I'm sorry. Just... I'm anxious." Bart opened his eyes once more before sending her an awkward grin. "Do it."
And with a snap of the otherborn's fingers, Bart was swallowed by a hole underneath him. Before he knew it, the brunet was suddenly in a purple tunnel that was covered with webs and other things, at the end was a bright light.
With wide eyes, Bart began walking forward, shielding his eyes once he got to close and then--
He was spit out, falling face first into dirt ground, before groaning and sitting up.
Was he... Did he make it?
Looking around, there weren't any people around, there were quite a few buildings and the grass was... green? And the sky was blue? He ended up sitting and staring up in awe at the oddly colored sky, his mouth agape and eyes wide.
"Whoa." He said. "Crash."

Something.... this was wrong. The readings were all wrong, this anomaly... it couldn't be happening. It was impossible, according to every law of physics, and yet... I was seeing it.
I rushed towards the area where the readings were beginning to rise off the charts. Then... a boy, just a few years younger than I was, fell out of the sky.
Since coming to Urbadelphia, I'd seen a lot of strange things, but.... this...?

Bart leaned back until he fell, back-flat onto the green grass covered ground. His gold eyes watched countless clouds roam the skies in wonder. He'd read about the world being so colorful before... But he didn't imagine it'd be so asterous.[1]
Furrowing his brows at the sudden feeling that he was being watched, Bart sat up again. No one was there, so why--
Oh. There was someone there.
Grinning wildly at the figure that stood not so far away, Bart began to wave. He opened his mouth to yell over to him, but instantly clamped his mouth shut as an afterthought. It'd probably look stupid for him to yell out that the grass was actually green.
Instead, he yelled a quick, "HIIIIII!" To the stranger, idiotic grin still in place. Who could blame him, though? During his four years of life, he'd never ever seen so much color in one place. It was awesome.
(( [1] Bart tends to use futuristic lingo... So try not to be bothered by it ; u ; ))

"Um.... hi." There was something just... strange about this person. I tapped the glasses, trying to get the readings to settle - and they did, right out of existence. I sighed, pulling up screens (visible to this person, I would find out later) and instructing the glasses to archive them for later.
"Who are you? Where... where did you come from?"
Not the Otherworld; this wasn't a Crossing. There was no way it could be what it seemed to be, but it was for sure that this wasn't a Crossing.

"Hiya!" Bart greeted again, laughing to himself because he was just so happy at the time.
He awkwardly arose from his spot on the ground, his legs feeling a bit reminiscent to Jello— [Did they have Jello in this time era?] —before dusting himself off and grinning at the boy that was obviously older then him, physically, that is.
After taking a good look at him, Bart wasn't sure whether or not he read about this guy in the great 'event'. But it wasn't much of a surprise, considering he only skimmed through the history book his mother gave him before he left for the past.
The speedster watched with amazement as the older boy simply pulled up screens from nowhere— okay, actually, with more thought put into it, he probably got those screens from his glasses, but that wasn't the point. That was some pretty high-tech stuff... So what if he wasn't in the right year?
Looking around, it was clear that it was before the 'event' so he still had time. Hopefully it wasn't too far ahead from now, or else his hyper-accelerated ageing wouldn't be able to take it.
"Who are you?"
The sound of the stranger's voice snapped Bart out of his thoughts in a flash, his attention once again to the other boy.
Grinning, the brunet smiled and zipped behind the boy, before going back to being in front of him. "The name's Bartholomew Allen! But you can call me Bart, or Bart Allen, or Bart Impulse Allen. It's all crash." He found his fingers vibrating a bit out of excitement. Was this like... Meeting a historical figure? He almost laughed at the thought.
He stopped short of his speedy movements all at once, once he was suddenly asked 'the question'.
"Where... where did you come from?"
He wasn't prepared for that. He felt like banging his head on a wall. Of course people were going to ask where he was from, why didn't he plan ahead? What if he told the truth, and the whole time-stream got destroyed?
With his mind racing as quickly as he could run, Bart could only think of one thing, his mouth going before his brain could catch up. "The future."
Once his brain began to comprehend what his mouth said, he wanted to facepalm. From the looks of it, the time-stream wasn't going to destroy itself yet... But then again, that would mean he'd have to think of another reason as to why he was travelling to the past, wouldn't it?
[Think of something, Bart! You can't just come to the past for no reason whatsoever!] Thankfully, Bart was gifted with something called good acting.
"I'm a tourist." He shrugged nonchalantly, while keeping his grin in place. "Here to learn about my grandparents and stuff." [Nice save]

I raised an eyebrow. The readings supported it, but....
"Um.... okayyy. You've got a great imagination; I get it. If you don't want to tell me, I understand. It's not like I exactly want to talk about it..." He shrugged. "You got a place to stay? You... um.... appeared. Pretty suddenly. Were you drawn through?" I was slowly starting to learn the language. "Or... well. I guess you wouldn't want to talk about that...."

Bart began to pout. His literal inner four-year-old decided to come out of hiding as he crossed his arms over his chest in a frustrated matter. "I'm not kidding! I mean, what's there not to believe? I just—"
He ended up clamping his mouth shut a second time, a tiny voice in the back of his head noting him that he should only be glad that this boy wasn't bombing him with questions. Sighing in defeat, Bart decided the tiny voice in his head knew better then the rest of his brain, so it was probably best to comply.
That didn't mean he had to like it, though.
Unfolding his arms as his uncooperative mood faded out, it quickly changed into something more of exhaustion. Being angry took a lot of energy, as odd as it was. A speedster like Bart tended to use up a lot of juice easily, which meant he needed to eat a lot. And often.
The brunet patted an aching stomach before snapping his eyes up to look at the boy in front of him. A place to stay? Of course he didn't think of that. Why wasn't he more prepared? And of course this guy had to see Bart's embarrassing entrance, too.
He gave a sheepish grin and scratched his cheek, awkwardly shifting weight from one foot to another. "I guess... You saw that then, didn't you?" He laughed, referring to his earlier face-plant. "And nah, I don't have a place to stay. I'll find a way somehow, right?"
"Was I... Drawn through?" He put a hand to his chin, the other to his hip. "I suppose you could say so." Humming and tapping his foot, he ended up shrugging and putting both hands to his sides, smiling nonchalantly.
"By the way..." Bart said, suddenly thrusting one hand out to his new... Companion? Nonetheless, it didn't stop him from grinning widely. "I don't think you've told me your name yet! Here, let's start again. I'm Bart Allen! Nice to meet yoooouuu..."

I took his hand, bowing as I did so. I could tell he wasn't telling the complete truth, but since I didn't know the total of what was going on myself, I couldn't quite judge how close he came to it.
"Kenichi Harakawa; my friends.... call me Haraken..." I'm usually the quiet one, so I felt a bit overwhelmed at his overbearing cheeriness.

He raised a brow as the boy began to bow in front of him. Was this a custom for people of this year? It certainly was something he wasn't at all used to.
Upon finding out his new pal's name, he tested it out for himself a few times in his head— [Kenichi Harakawa, Kenichi Harakawa...] —before giving up completely and deciding Haraken was much easier to say anyway.
With a grin still in place, Bart began to vigorously shake his hand, joyfulness pouring out of him like he was a fountain. Simply put; he was pretty freaking happy and excited right then and there.
"Nice to meet'cha, Haraken!" He laughed again. The name was so foreign to him. It was pretty crash. Which was a good thing. "You're name is crash." He echoed his thoughts with a smile, before letting go to scratch an itchy spot on his head.
"So what's up? What're you doing here in such a..." He made a few random hand gestures while thinking of a word, before he snapped his fingers, the concept suddenly coming to him as a frown made its way onto his face. "Barren. Why're you here in such a barren place?"

"Doing research," I said quietly. "And... I like to be alone."
It was true. I didn't spend a lot of time with other people; usually, it was online. I liked coming out here, because it was quiet and calm.

Bart nodded before crossing his arms, confusion written all over his face. Sure, he understood why someone would be here for research, but being alone? Why would anyone want to be alone, never-mind liking it.
"But being alone is so boring! How could you like being alone?" Sure, Bart didn't have much friends outside of Tim-- some guy that was old enough to be his dad... But Tim was good company. Friends were good company. He just couldn't believe why anyone wouldn't want to be around people when they could be such good comrades.
Bart put one hand to his chin in thought, before shaking his head and dropping both arms to his sides. "I guess m'sorry for interrupting your... Alone time, then." He apologized awkwardly, averting his gold eyes from Haraken to the ground.

I shook my head. "It's... fine. I'm not good with... people," I admitted. "You can stay if you want to, I don't mind." I was back to scanning the area through my glasses again, taking energy readings via the HUD interface.

Bart visibly brightened, a grin outstretched onto his face as he placed his hands on his hips. "Kool! Um, thanks Haraken!" He paused for a moment, a hand to his chin as he tapped his foot at extreme speeds. "Um, gimmie a second." And with that, he zoomed around the small area in three seconds flat.
The world seemed so slow during this time era, though. Back in the future everyone had to stay on their toes, quick on their feet and swift with their thinking. Here, it was just so... Different. It looked like no one had anything to worry about-- like you could just sit back and do nothing. Bart wasn't so sure if the thought was relaxing or... Unnerving from what he was used to.
"Soooo... What're you doing? If y'know, you don't mind me asking." He murmured when he returned from his quick journey around the area. Haraken looked really focused on something. Bart just wasn't really sure what. Nothing really looked that exciting here, even though the grass was green and the skies were blue. His new companion was used to this kind of stuff, right?

I shook my head, amazed at his speed but getting used to strange things happening here. It was like... the place itself drew the strange and seekers of the strange.
"I'm examining these strange energy readings," I told him. "I don't know if you... really know what that means. I think it has to do with your strange Crossing.... if that's what it was... I'm still not really clear on this whole thing..... um..." I paused, tring to find the right way to say what I wanted to say, but finding nothing, I shook my head again. "N-nevermind..." I followed his eager, interested looks and gave him a curious look of my own.
"Um... do you.... see something I don't?" I aske dhim.

Bart simply hummed and nodded on while listening to his companion speaking. Crossing... Where had he heard that before? Maybe... That was the thing that ruined the future, right? His face twisted into something that was a mix of confusion and frustration, his lips poking out just a tad as he put his mind to work.
He instantly snapped himself out of his thoughts as Haraken began to speak again, gaze returning to him.
"Um... do you.... see something I don't?"
Bart put on a confused face. "Huh? No! I mean," He paused, "I don't think so. I see green grass, blue skies, gray pavement, browndirt, yellowsun-- ohandtherearesomereallyprettybugsand--" He continued on speed-rambling, mouth turning into a blur as both his voice and words just mashed together. He began to excitedly talk about colors and people and... Anything in his line of sight, really.
