He felt it too, all of a sudden, just welling up in him, and he broke out into a huge grin. He didn't have anymore words, nothing else left, just that huge grin and the shaky feeling deep in his gut. He moved his hands down to her shoulders, then pulled her to him, hugging her closely, relishing how different it felt from hugging anyone else. He breathed in deeply, filling his mind with her scent, wanting to memorize every part of her. Then he pulled away, still grinning and pulled hr up off the couch, spun her around his living room, and hugged her close again.
"Wow," he finally said, and laughed. "Wow."

I couldn't hold back my laughter, "Didn't think that'd happen for a while." Quite honestly, I was beginning to doubt it ever happening because of how screwed up we tended to act with the other around.
"I..." There was nothing more to be said. This was far from the 'welcome home' I was expecting, but I'll gladly take it. "So um... Now what?" I finally managed so say after cutting off a small chuckle.

He laughed again, letting it come up and out of him like the most natural thing in the world.
"I dunno," he said, still laughing. "I didn't really... think of that part..."

"Um... Well... How about we try one, actual date for starts? May as well?"
I'll admit, I've seen my fair share of chick flicks, a girl that used to work with Zephyr adored them, especially ones from the 80's. Kinda have to wonder if romance is actually like that....

"An actual date where I don't knock over my chair every five seconds?" He laughed. "I'm game." He grinned at her, propping his arms behind his head as he plopped into a seat and crossed his legs.

"You can knock over the chair all you want, just down spill anything." I couldn't help but remember the last attempt date we had, it was an utter disaster but I don't think I'd be here if it hadn't happened, despite everything, we somehow bonded a bit that night.
"So, when and where?"

"I dunno," he said, shrugging. "Last time, I picked, so it's your turn now." He smiled at her. He seemed to be doing that a lot. "Where d'you wanna go, Aya?"

Growing up the way I have, you don't really have a chance to get used to people giving you a choice. You are either told what to do, or you didn't have another choice so this is new. "Uh well..." What did people usually do for dates? Go to movies? Go for dinner? That seemed normal enough.
"Ummm, movie?"

"Sounds good to me," he said, still smiling. "But what movie? I don't know what's out right now... I don't go to the movies often."
He shrugged. "I also don't know what kind of movies you like... what kinds of movies do you like? I mean, I know a lotta girls would want to go see something romantic and sappy with a tagline like 'Based on the book by Nicholas Sparks', but... you don't seem like that type." He chuckled.

I smiled a bit. "I don't think you have to worry, I don't even know who 'Nicholas Sparks' is. I'm always up for a horror or adventure. You?" It occurred to me how weird it is that we have never gone over this before, we've always acted like we were going to date but only went on the one previous one.

"Horror or adventure sounds good to me. Isn't there some new superhero flick out? Or was that last month?" He grinned. "I guess we could always look it up, find something interesting."
First real date that wasn't going to be a disaster? This was absolutely perfect. Of course, he was nervous as hell - but now that they'd finally got it out in the open, it was easier in a way than pretending there was nothing serious going on.

I smirked "I think it was a while ago" I can't believe this, Lea and I, together. It was taking a while to fully sink in. This entire thing felt like something out of a shy teenager's daydream. I began to hear footsteps approaching the door and looked at Lea "Your roommate due home soon?"

He frowned slightly, then shrugged. "DUnno, I don't know where he is. He's been having girl trouble lately... been out a lot."

"I didn't even realize you had a roommate." I admitted. Having a roommate always seemed to be a hassle to me. I laughed though "Girl problems isn't that much of stranger to this apartment, is it?" I knew full well I have contributed to the 'girl problems'. Guess I have to make up for that later...
