Darla had just take a bite of food and was about to sallow it, the end rest is her chocking a bit. She coughs a couple times and clears her throat. Then she turns a burning gaze onto Noctis, frowning at him, "I don't practice what I preach very often... But... I don't mind you... And I guess Riku is okay despite being a two-bit-back-stabbing-no-good-liar!" She turns her glare onto her cup and then sighs. "The less ties people have... the less sickening they are to be around... But... That's no way to live... So, me? I don't hang out with people... I get wasted, but never hang..."

Noctis watched her carefully at the intensity of her gaze, not worried that she would attack him or anything of the sort but rather that he had offended her. On top of that it seemed to have brought up harsh memories due to her description of Riku. "It's definitely understandable." He said as he took a sip of his orange juice. "Hopefully Tifa won't bother you too much. She has a bit of a mother bear personality." He said with an apologetic smile, he still remembered what happened the first time a customer had harassed one of the waitstaff. Mother Bear was indeed a very accurate description for the owner of the club.

She laughs and shakes her head, "I understand how to not step on people's feet... I won't give her a reason to worry either." Her shoulders shrug as she chugs down the remainder of her OJ.

"Things should go well then." He responded before finishing up the last of his meal and drained the rest of his drink. "Just remember that sampling the merchandise during work hours is frowned upon." He told her as he gathered up his glass and empty plate in order to take it to the sink, the tone of his voice making it clear that it was only a friendly tease.

Darla's nose twitches and she shrugs before finishing off her omelet. Then she carries her plate to the sink as well, "And how would one such as yourself know that?" She raises a brow and smirks. "I thought Noctie didn't drink~."

He laughed at her remarks when she'd brought the plate to the sink as he started up the sink in order to wash the dishes. "I don't, but a few of my coworkers have tried. They went for the really powerful stuff so, needless to say, they couldn't finish their shifts." He told her, though in his movements of washing the dishes his arm accidentally brushed hers. His eyes turned red once again as her memories began playing in his head and he became stock still. She'd already told him of her past so it wasn't like any of it was secret but Noctis still didn't like seeing the memories of people he was fond of if he had a choice since it felt too much like invading their privacy.

Darla had been about to make a sarcastic joke, but then she felt something snap and the tie itself firmly. Her teeth grit as Noctis flashes through her life, every tie she's ever had flashing along with it. Her mother choosing Namine over her, her aunt taunting her, Namine acting all innocent. Then Angel showing up and training with her, she finally thought she found a friend, but then he attached himself to the Princesssa. Throwing herself into the study of demon slaying, becoming more than just the top of her class, becoming able to use several weapons in battle. Every crossing she's ever been in, hundreds, no, thousands. Every demon she's ever categorized and documented in her hunting journal in hopes she has kids one day. Her dream to create a legacy.
Then the day she got pulled through, demons overpowering her in crossing, tossing her through the rip before crashing into the human world to reek havoc. The only problem with working alone is no one to watch your back, no one to make sure the balance stays balanced.
Her days in the Otherworld, fighting for her life day by day, never gaining much rest. Meeting HIM, the halfer whom had escaped a horrible life. The two becoming close, Namine showing up with her quarter demon asshat. The stupid Princessa not realizing he's a good guy, halfer gets kills before she's shaken awake, her screaming and holding his dying body.
Resentment. Hate. Burning rage. These become her bet friends and her greatest weapons. She uses them as clarity in a fight, effortlessly killing demons... And on occasion a rouge Other overstepping a fine line. She only works in groups when she has to, opting to traveling alone... Seeing the world, cold with loneliness and soul darkened from pure hatred.
But below all this travel, pain and resentment. Below her surface memories she holds out to the world, shoves in Namine's face every time she aids her. Is the hidden memories. The ones not even Darla knew she had.
A smiling mother cradling her, blue eyes smiling down at her. Then a hand runs through her soft hair. Burning gray eyes enter her vision. Her teeth click on something and a voice whispers she's teething, loosing her babies fangs. But just as quick that happiness enters the blur of pain as her grandfather come bursting in screaming and holloring. The burning eyes darkening to a black and a hiss is heard. Then a sword flashes past her vision, not that she knows what that is at this time, and blood falls from the being with burning eyes. Her mother is screaming so she starts screaming as well...
Of course all these things flash by in a matter of seconds. And Darla is watching Noctis closely, preparing to catching him if he falls or something. Although her happiest memories by far have been the couple times she's just hung out with him, with out stress and lacking reality... But even here can be... Broken apart...
She won't let herself think that though. Noctis isn't going to disown her for anything... He's not that sorta person.
Wait.
What is she thinking?
Its not like they're friends or anything!
Right?
"... Noctis?"

Memories that were not his own flashed through his head, his now red eyes fixed on some distant point beyond the counter they stood at. It was always strange seeing the events of another person's life, especially one as eventful as Darla's. When he eventually came back to himself he braced one hand on the counter to keep himself steady as he readjusted to being back in the here and now. "Sorry about that. My ability isn't exactly under control." he apologized as he blinked and shook his head to remove any lingering sensation of surrealism. Darla's life had truly been horrific in some parts but Noctis refused to show anything resembling pity. Even if he did then he wouldn't have been surprised if Darla resented such a thing. Plus, if he had to admit it, he was quite embarrassed that he had so little control over his ability that one errant touch would send a flood of memories through his head. It was something that could leave him very vulnerable under certain circumstances.

Darla smiles and then shakes her head, "Quite alright, Noctie... Didn't harm anything... Well--" She steals in the urge to touch his forehead and to stare into his eyes to gauge his pain levels-- "as long as you're not hurting of course." Her eyes dart to his as she speaks.

Noctis smiled lightly at her concern, hoping that the expression was reassuring. "No, I'm not hurt. That only happens if I use my ability too much." He then turned to the dishes in order to continue washing them as he had been doing before he had accidentally brushed her arm. "So, I have a question. Aside from drinking, what do you normally do for fun?" He turned his head a bit in order to look at her out of his peripheral vision as he said this.

She shrugs, "Fun? What's that word mean." And then she laughs, looking off to the side. "... I kill things."

He chuckled slightly, sympathizing since he didn't have many hobbies either unless you counted reading when he wasn't maintaining his weapon or patrolling nearby for demons to fight. He noticed her look off to the side and paused in his washing of the dishes to watch her before she confessed that she killed things for fun. "Maybe you should come with me on one of my little patrols sometime. There's usually something to kill." He said, speaking of the odd rogue evil demon or crossing that he encountered most nights.

"Hmmm."
Darla ponders this over before nodding, "Alright... When and where do you want to meet?"

Noctis thought over the various places nearby. "How about in front of the WildKat Cafe? For some reason a lot of Crossings seems to pop up near there. He suggested as he continued to wash the dishes, quickly drying each one and putting them away as he finished with each plate or glass.

"Alright... Leave my number so you can call me when you want to go out?"
