"A strange crew indeed." He replied before another manic grin made its way onto his face at the thought of having Axel's apparent allies as new test subjects. "Yeeeeees, if we can capture them as well then there's no telling what we could do." He added with a devious look in his eyes as he reached for another syringe, following the same procedure as before but this time injecting it into his subject's neck. "Otherborns, they are such fools. Do they really think that they can resist the very world that gave them their abilities?" He rambled.

He stepped forward, more closely examining the effects the syringes had on the 'patient', eyes intent on the effects.
"Yes, yes," he murmured, watching as the boy's face constricted with pain. "They do all too often appear to forget that their powers came from our World, so long ago...."
He lightly touched the boy's arm.
"I simply must give you a chance to meet Alexev," he mentioned offhand, 'Alexev' being his own personal 'specialist'. "I have the feeling you two would have... much to discuss."

He nodded in agreement with Ifrit's words, watching the boy as the chemicals made their way through his system. "Yes, you'd think they would be more grateful." He replied as his maniacal smile seemed to become more smug. "But it is of no matter, they will learn soon enough. At the very least, we will have what we want." He said as he turned away, going jotting down notes on the reaction of his subject.

"Indeed we will," he said, matcing his smile to that of his human 'partner'.

After the Scientist had finished jotting down his notes he removed his gloves and walked to another area of the lab. "Now I've been working on something these past few days, I believe it will come in quite handy with rounding up our runaways." He told Ifrit without looking back to check if the demon was following, merely adjusting his glasses and his lab coat, a small laugh rumbling forth from his chest.

He stroked the now-unconscious subject's arm before following the Scientist. Yes, the man did do good work, for a human.
"What might that be?" he asked, musing.

This section of the lab held various components, primarily computer and machine parts. On the table in the centre lay a device that was covered in a white cloth for protection. Eagerly the Scientist strode forth and drew the cloth away. "This device will drain the powers of the targeted Otherborn or Half Demon. It should come in handy since it is their abilities that will likely be the ones to keep us from completing our respective goals." He told Ifrit with a look on his face akin to a child on Christmas Day.

He blinked, eyes widening in shock, but as the news sank in, they narrowed in sadistic delight and glee, and a smile crept across his elegant face.
"Will it now?" he asked, stepping forward. "For a human, you have done well before... the device which weakens the Veil and draws us through, the serums you have developed to alter Otherborn and half-boods to our wishes... but this..."
He caressed it, almost tenderly.
"....this, human, is truly a marvelous gift to the world. With this... all our plans will soon see fruit. You have done well, indeed."

The Scientist beamed with pride at the praise, glad that someone finally appreciated his genius. "Yes, with this getting those two back should be simple. If they are like most then they will have come to depend too heavily on their abilities." He replied with another manic grin, wringing his hands in anticipation.

He nodded. "Though Axel still cannot control his flames to the degree that a full-blooded demon his age would be able to, he has come to rely, as you say, heavily upon them." He chuckled. "Then again, I know of no lesser demon that would do less, either. Truly, he inherited too much of the wrong blood..." A lamenting sigh. "Ah well. Best not to dwell on it; when I am through, the boy will definitely see my way, and you will have your little pet back as well."

He gave a demented chuckle and nodded before covering the device with the cloth once again. "Yes, as it should be." He replied with the manic grin still on his face. "We shall have to prepare for their arrival, I highly doubt they will make it easy for us to keep them contained."

"True," he mused. "Even without his abilities, Axel is a formidable opponent. Indeed, when he escaped my care, he did so without so much as lighting a match."
He smiled. The boy had learned well, from his time under Ifrit's care, and he was intelligent as so many were not.
"It is not the boy's brawn that is the problem," he continued, tapping idle fingers on the hilt of his sword. "It is the brain that hides within. He excels in tactics and manipulation. It will be difficult to find a way around that asset - a mind is a difficult thing to contain."

The Scientist nodded in agreement, most would try breaking the spirit of those involved but such a method was time consuming. "Once they are captured, it is likely that we could subdue his mind until he is confined more securely. After that, it is possible that you could...persuade him to make the better choice." He suggested with a devious sneer.

He nodded. "You do seem to have expertise in that matter," he said, "and I have expertise in mine, as well. Yes..." He smirked. "Yes, between the two of us, we shall have what we want within our grasp again." He smiled. "It is time, then, to put the next phase of the plan into motion; find Axel, and we shall find your runaway. And then we will have them both back..."
