He shrugged. "They all seem pretty cool," he said. "SHiki's a firebrand; Neku's got his hands full with that one. Wouldn't mind taking her out for lunch sometime..." He looked down at his glass, suspicious. He was talking a lot about things he'd usually keep to himself. Had he grabbed Aya's glass by accident? No, just soda.
"Hmmm... Zack's neat, too. I like him, he's got spunk, cheer. It's infectious; hard to feel down, around a guy like that. DIdn't really get the chance to talk to that Noctis guy, so I can't say for sure about him - same with the blonde girll.... Namine, I think."

I watched as he looked at his drink and rolled my eyes. "I didn't spike your drink, you'd taste the difference unless you are really that unaware." I thought about what I thought about them. "For me, I don't really know any of them that well, from what I can tell though, they are all good fighters."
I swirled my drink as I continued. "I don't know what to make of the brown haired boy though." I thought back to him at the Veil and when he gave me the note about the CIA. I've been jumpy ever since. Ever since I've also been dragged into an unusual amount of crossings, they can't be connected though. A lot of weird things have happened.

He looked at her. "The guy Neku was sitting with?" he asked.

He was sitting with Neku so I nodded. "Yeah, he seemed... Off. The note he gave me didn't help his case either." At first I thought it was one of those 'looking for a good time' kinda things considering a drink came with it but the CIA thing... That creeped me out. Against my better judgment I pulled out the folded note and opened it again. "I just don't understand."

He took the note, read it.
"Vakarian, huh?" he asked. "Never heard of 'em. I can have Neku look into it, if you'd like."
He winced inwardly.
Crap. He'd forgotten she wasn't new - she didn't know about Neku yet, and he wasn't sure Neku wanted her to know, either. Even being a Watcher was a pretty big deal - and his friend wasn't really into being a 'big deal'.

I quickly grabbed the note away and put it away in a box on a side table. "I can handle it myself." I didn't think I needed help. "Besides, I haven't been contacted yet or anything so for all I know, it could be a silly prank." I was beginning to think that anyhow. It's been a while since I got the note so I was beginning to figure that it was nothing.

He held out his hands. "Whoah, whoah. Sorry for asking." He said it slightly teasingly - but he gave hre a more somber look. "Seriously. If you don't want me to - I won't tell anyone. I don't go around giving out peoples' secrets."

Closing the box, I turned to him. "I hope you don't, I prefer my problems are kept to me. It's very rare that anyone is in the same position you find yourself now." My eyes looked over the spot he took up on the couch.
"Not sure whether to call you lucky or not but either way, it's the truth."

"You and I... we're not really all that different in that regard."
He found himself standing, facing her, empty glass in hand and a conflicted expression on his face.
"I... I should probably go," he said, gesturing towards the door.

The door was still partially open so I walked over and opened it all the way. "If that's what you'd prefer."
I didn't really want him to leave, oddly it was actually nice to have company but it was getting late and I'd prefer to actually get some sleep. "Guess I'll see you around."

He started to leave, looked backwards at Aya.
"If that's what you'd prefer."
He realized, suddenly, that he didn't want to go; but he'd bothered her long enough, and he was tired - bone-deep tired, exhausted both mentally and physically. For the first time in quite a while, Lea simply didn't know what to say. He hung there, not quite in and not quite out, for a long moment, then sighed, nodded.
"Yeah. I.... guess I'll see you, too." He stepped outside, ook a deep breath. "Hey, Aya! COme back to Veil again sometime, alright? We can hang out." He waved.
"Thanks for listening."
Then, before he could make a fool of himself (any more than he already had, anyway), he left, exiting the building and trudging back towards his own apartment.

"No problem Lea, See you later." I shut the door and locked it. This has certainly been an interesting day.
I ran my fingers through my hair and walked back to bed. It was weird actually having someone want to see me. Most people think I'm miserable to be around so they'd rather stay away and that's how I usually preferred it. Lea was strange. Although, friend isn't a title I'm ready to give him. Not yet.
