Sora grinned and held the phone out of her reach, "Want it back cowgirl? You're gonna have to take it from me."
It was all in good fun of course, he didn't check her inbox or anything.

She laughed, "Fine then. You asked for it." Shiki jumped onto his back and grabbed for her phone. A smile was planted on her face; she'd admit she was having fun.

Sora did not expect that, so when she jumped on his back his response was appropriate.
"Oh geez! Crapcrapcrapcrap!" he yelped, trying to keep his balance and the two of them from falling over. But wasn't doing well. "I got it I got it, no wait, losing it, going down!"
He yelped as he moved a bit too far forward and the two of them tumbled down onto the small patches of lawn next to the house.

"Whoah!" Shiki yelled as they fell onto the lawn. She fell off of Sora and lay on her back in the grass. She looked at Sora, and then started laughing again. "Whoops!" Her phone had landed a few feet from them, and she reached over and took it. "Mine." She said with a smile. "You okay?"

Sora lifted his head from the grass, "Yeah, don't worry, I only fell on my face."
He buried his head back down in the grass and groaned, he laughed a little at the irony, but his face still hurt so he couldn't laugh long.

"Aw, did I ruin your movie star looks?" Shiki teased remembering his joke from Veil. She sat up, feeling a little guilty. "Sorry."

"Ah don't worry," he said, a little muffled at first before spun a bit and sat up. "A few grass stains or so won't damage it, whatever's left. Actually had fun...first time in a long time."

"Really? Looks like I'm lucky; I got to bring you enjoyment." She fixed her hat, which had turned a bit during the fall. "Guess help went both ways. Thanks for that. It took my mind off of things."

She shrugged, "You have a bigger job than me, don't you? You're going to have a lot on your mind; I don't think I want to know what you have to worry about." She gazed out at the people on the streets. "It wasn't always this easy to for me anyway."

Sora turned to her people gazing, he watched her eyes grow distant and couldn't resist. He had to ask... "What was it like then? Before now?"

She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. "Before my first Crossing? Before I found out I was an Otherborn?" She turned back to the people. "It wasn't paradise, that I can assure you. I never want to go back."
