Hey guys! I was recently playing Crysis 2 (which inspired me obviously to create Alcatraz as my first character) and ever since making the app I've been thirsting to really write something to show you just what this guy can do. As well as show off the capabilities of the nano suit that he wears! So at first I thought about using a video in game but then I thought of something even better...
I thought I'd show off my writing skills alongside this, so I took a cutscene from the game (specifically used to show the capabilities of the nano suit 2.0) and write it out as an incredibly short story of just this one particular fight that Alcatraz is involved in. And for those of you who aren't big on reading, don't worry, I've posted the video right below the actual writing! So enjoy!

“Tactical mode”
Alcatraz’s visor activated as he stepped towards the massive gaping hole in the wall, he was stood on the precipice of a skyscraper, hundreds of feet in the air, the buildings around him were decadent, ruined and burnt. But he was used to the setting now, looking down below him he spotted two men patrolling the roof a building a few stories below, highlighting both of them onto his HUD, he zoomed in and activated his thermal vision to get a clearer view of the pair.
The system in the visor soon noticed another threat out of his line of sight and directed him towards it, looking across to the right of the men patrolling the building, Alcatraz saw it. An APC Transport had just driven onto the street and just as it began to drive past a small unit of armed men his visor pulled him away to yet another threat, this time, Alcatraz found what he didn’t expect.
An attack chopper was pulling up towards him, the sound of it’s beating rotors suddenly becoming all that he could hear, still in thermal mode, the heat emitting from the rotors and the pilot inside were highlighted to his vision. He didn’t act at first, he saw no need to, the visor didn’t highlight any form of weapon lock and so he assumed it wasn’t planning to attack him just yet. He could see the words ‘target’ written on the HUD inside of the chopper. Suddenly his visor highlighted the rocket pod attached to the side of the helicopter in red and started beeping ‘Lock detected: THREAT’ it warned him.
Alcatraz quickly jogged forwards as the rocket was launched and jumped from the top of the building, as soon as he was clear the missile collided with where he had just been standing, sending an assortment of debris and fire spewing out of the building. Alcatraz dropped with intense speed before landing on a glass platform that was just below him, the reinforced glass cracked into the shape of his feet before he swiftly knelt down and placed a hand on the glass to spread out the energy of his landing, leading in another crack in the shape of his hand.
From his crouched position he suddenly jumped across to the building opposite, landing next to one of the soldiers he had spotted earlier, he witnessed the brief look of shock in his eyes before Alcatraz gripped the man’s gun and kicked him away into a nearby metal platform which dinted into his shape. Before his ally could even raise his gun, Alcatraz was already looking down the sights of the rifle and quickly placed three shots into the second man’s chest, dropping him to the floor of the platform and sending him tumbling down the stairs.
Alcatraz vaulted onto the platform before suddenly taking fire on his left flank, twisting around he spotted another soldier firing at him. Taking a shot from the hip, Alcatraz took him down before a large aircraft spun around the corner onto the street Alcatraz was in. The attack plane launched a barrage of missiles into a nearby building before flying past, leaving a mess of debris rushing in it’s wake. Alcatraz raised his left hand to shield himself from the debris, before seeing the majority of it falling for the building on which he stood.
Thinking fast, he turned to his right and sprinted forwards before jumping towards the window of the building opposite, crashing through the glass of the window, he rolled to dissipate the energy of the jump before standing up straight.
Inside the nano suit, microscopic, glowing blue crystals suddenly came out from the surface of the suit, which when put together formed small diamond shaped cells which then when zoomed out even further, formed blue panels on the suit, which reflected all nearby light and effectively made Alcatraz invisible.
“Cloak engaged”
Whilst the cloak mode activated, Alcatraz had moved forwards towards a sky bridge that connected the building he was in, to one across the street. Stealthily moving from behind the doorway he approached the guard that was patrolling the bridge. Grabbing him by the throat he quickly uncloaked, whilst the man choked and kicked at Alcatraz, he noticed the helicopter approaching from his right, sending barrages of rockets and bullets towards the bridge.
Alcatraz had to act fast. Jumping to his right he forced his opponent below him and held him in place, using him as a shield to cushion his fall, they hit the ground with a heavy thud as the sky bridge collapsed behind them. Still alive, Alcatraz stood up straight and picked up the LMG that the guard had dropped. Looking ahead he saw the APC that he had noticed earlier burst through two cars and make it’s way towards Alcatraz. The gunner manning the HMG atop the APC started firing towards the nano suit enhanced soldier.
Inside the nano suit, small spikes slowly raised out of the surface of the suit and together formed tiny scales which then all raised together to increase the durability of the suit as a whole.
“Nano suit armour”
The guard fired one more shot, a shot that managed to hit it’s mark and collide with Alcatraz’s shoulder, but the soldier stood firm as the bullet simply bounced off of him as if it were nothing, the surface of the suit merely rippling slightly. The scales had done there job. Flinging the arm that was hit back so as to avoid breaking his shoulder, Alcatraz quickly brought his weapon back round and held it firmly in his fists. Opening fire on the APC he started moving towards it as the massive vehicle still chugged it’s way towards him, after a few shots he had killed the gunner and there was but the driver left.
Ceasing fire, Alcatraz dropped the LMG and started sprinting towards the APC which veered to the left, hoping to escape from the clutches of the walking prison. But Alcatraz had already jumped high into the air, bringing his knees up, he forced himself down onto the front of the APC and stood up straight, certifying his position.
Inside the nano suit, military grade steroids were pumped into Alcatraz’s body and attached themselves to his blood vessels, increasing the size of them and allowing more blood to flow through his body, quickly enhancing the size and strength of his muscles within a few seconds.
“Nano suit power”
Alcatraz clenched his fist, admiring the new found strength, before reaching down to the HMG that was mounted to the top of the APC and ripping it from it’s stand, once again Alcatraz heard the beating rotors of the attack helicopter behind him, but this time turned to face it. This time he was sufficiently armed. Both Alcatraz and the helicopter started firing as it flew ever closer towards him but Alcatraz’s aim was true, and eventually a few of the high calibre rounds went right through the window of the cockpit and swiftly ended the life of the pilot.
Suddenly with no means to fly itself, the helicopter started to dip with sudden beeps about low altitude and cockpit damage, crashing into the floor it burst into flames as it skidded along the road, the rotors cutting into the concrete, ripping themselves to shreds before the fuselage eventually ground to a half in front of Alcatraz.
Surrounded by smoke and fire and ash, Alcatraz looked around at the destruction that he had caused before looking over his shoulder.
