Voices, from the back dark alley of main street, if one were to look they'd see two people conversing. One is our Sora Shimomura, the other...an evil darker than any demon that ever walked the Earth, he has multiple names but the one we know him of is one simple word: Devil.
The appearance he took today was human, an elderly man with slicked back grey hair, a dark overcoat, and a walking cane with a crystal skull on it.
"What do you mean I cannot eliminate Lord Ifrit?" Sora asked.
"Lord Ifrit is a generous contributor," the Devil said. "Letting him die would be a waste to me. But-" he cut Sora off as he was about to complain, "I will not ignore the actions...you may capture him, like with all demons send him back to his cell."
"What about the Otherborns?" Sora asked.
"What about them?" the Devil asked.
"They intend to defeat him," Sora said.
"I am not allowed to interfere with them...yet," he added, "and I see no reason to stop them from trying...but I know I can count on you to capture Ifrit before that happens now can I Sora?"
Sora reluctantly nodded, the Devil smiled. "Good, glad we have an understanding. You do your job very well little pet..."

With the meeting over and my feelings all out of whack, I'm on my way home. Maybe I'll get home before Angel does, just maybe. I pat my pockets and realize I actually currently have no way of contacting me, score!
So I take a slight detour and decide to go shopping, I'm most of the way home anyways, so why not. Its as I'm coming out of a rather boring book store that a voice I recognize registers. I frown and come to a stop, my ears listening.

After sending messages to all of those that missed the meeting, Shiki decided to take a walk and get out of her apartment. She didn't really know what to do, but Main Street has tons of shops to keep her busy. As she's walking toward a store she sees a familiar blond, and redirects her path to her. "Hey Namine," she greets the girl and notices her frown. "What's with the-"
Wait a minute.
She heared voices and shut her mouth. She definitely recognized one of them.

Shooting Shiki a glance and frowning deeper I'm confused, What the HECK is going on down there?

Shiki looked from the direction of the voices back to Namine. She then mouthed the words, Want to check it out? She herself walked as quietly as she could in the direction of the voices. She tried to stay out of sight within the shadows, making out two figures.
Is that Sora?

Unaware of the two girls Sora continued to talk. "If that's all you need I'll go."
The Devil looked at him oddly and it caused Sora to raise an eyebrow. "What...?"
"I heard you're becoming quite the social butterfly," he said, "Affiliating yourself with the Network and paying off that mother's hospital tab. Talk about acting like a dieing man...not that you're aren't anyway."
"Forgive me...but I am confused." Sora said.
"Just a fair warning little Sora, those you are affiliated with you...are affiliated with me, be careful of who you include in your life." the Devil smirked.
"There's no one included in my life," Sora said flatly, "No friends or anything."
"Really?" The Devil raised an eyebrow, "If you say so...got to say, rather a disappointment...I liked the old you, the one who would bully little kids and drove teenagers to near suicide."
Sora's body went rigid as the Devil chuckled, like he told a funny little joke, he raised his cane and stamped it once on the ground. The Devil vanishing and leaving Sora in the alley.

I had followed behind Shiki and listened along with her, I can't believe what I just heard. This is so bizarre! What the hell is going on?
Looking to Shiki with a bewildered expression I look back to the alleyway.
Should we walk in now? Or should we stay put? Ugh! These are the times I wish I had telepathy instead of energy manipulation.

Shiki returned Namine's look with and equal expression. What was this about? The unfamiliar voice along with the person vanished; right into thin air it seemed. She looked at Namine and shrugged. Should they move? Should they stay? If anything, she felt guilty that she'd just heard the exchange between Sora and the other man. Sora hadn't wanted to tell her anything before, and she found out anyway.

Sora was about to turn and leave when he stopped, the winds shifted...he felt something that was masked by the Devil's presence. He slowly reached into his jacket and pulled out a pistol, whirling around and aiming.
"Step out now!" he said, "I know you're here."

She jumped at Sora's sudden move, and nervously stood up. Shiki nodded over to Namine, and walked out so Sora could see her. Hopefully he was the kind of person that looked before the would shoot. "Um, hi Sora," she said to him.

Sora's eyes widened slightly and slipped away the pistol, looking around he walked to them.
"The hell are you two doing here, I nearly shot you!"

"Well... I'm on my way home," I give a slightly nervous laugh. "And I kinda found you and decided to say hi, so, um... Hi."

She shifted her weight nervously, "I was walking and uh heard your voice so..." Shiki had a feeling he wouldn't be happy with her explanation.

Sora looked back and forth at the two of them, his back straightened and he looked at the two of them with a critical expression.
"You heard me talking..." he said, looking at the two of them. His expression hard to read. "Hear anything good?"

Shiki winced, "I wouldn't call it good." She didn't want to admit all of what she'd heard. But she had no right to keep it from him. "Mostly towards the end of your conversation."
