"I am on my guard!" I say as I jump onto a demon's head that was flying at me. "Whoa!" The beast decided it was time to try to eat me so I jump off and tumble next to Shiki. Then scramble onto my feet.
"Hiya," I place my hand on the back of her neck, thus focusing all my energy on her. "Lets burn 'em." But unknown to everyone- except maybe Angel- I'm beginning to feel the effects of using my powers so much, pretty soon I'm gonna have to stop.

"Is it Ifrit?" I asked, taking down another one.
Something wasn't right. There were more that just kept coming. Was it another portal? Or was it... something else?
I hated that feeling.

I sure hope not, but what else could it be? "We need to find a way to close this crossing... And if it is Ifrit then we'll just have to work together!" Aqua says as she she sends a demon stumbling back, their attack having be blocked.

"Namine!" Shiki yells and is relieved that the blond is unharmed. She nodded in agreement and then said, "Don't push yourself. We all have our limits." She then attacked more of the demons with her boost from Namine.

I sent several demons flying, running towards the center. Something caught my eye; a glint on the pavement, too sharp and too real for this twisted illusion.
At that moment, unfortunately, several more demons charged me.
"Someone - over there!" I pointed off to where I'd seen it, before slicing some more demons. "There's something not quite right."

"On it!" Aqua shouts as she cuts through one demon and kicks another in the nose. She then nods to the blond whom has been helping her. As one they make their steady way over.
Standing over it Aqua examines it, "What is it?" But then they get distracted by the onslaught of demons again.

The thing was a small, metal device, chill to the touch, with some kind of strange, glowing crystal in it - that part was unbearably hot. As Aqua picked it up, it vibrated, then the glow died...

I lashed out again, taking out some demons; something... I don't know how to describe it, but it felt like something snapped and suddenly, it was just another Crossing. The demons' ranks began to thin - we were winning.

What the...? The number of demon's began to dissipate, leaving them on the winning side. Which was good, but Sora's comment still made her wary. Shiki took down another demon, wondering what was going on.

Odd... But I'll take it! I take my hand from Shiki's neck and throw out my energy to everyone I can. Of course, this time I make sure not to over do it and allow only a small amount to touch everyone. And even though my breathing is uneven and I can feel my head beginning to get foggy, I feel the drive to be useful kicking in on overdrive and motivating me to be strong.
At Sora's words about the evil demon guy, I did frown, now I add in a whisper, "That sucks... Would of been epic if we suddenly kicked his butt."

Aqua is shocked as the demons begin to thin and though it confuses her as to why this thing glowing made it happen. But they can discuss that after they win the battle.
So she holds the item tightly in her hand and begins slashing at the demons with new found strength. She noticed her blows seem to be working better and she made a quick note to ask about this later too. But right now all that matter was killing off what was left.
Her partner agreed and they now fight back to back again, killing demons and knocking them away from themselves as need be.

Strange indeed. Ifrit wasn't here to oversee this Crossing, but that strange feeling was on my mind - if he wasn't here, then what caused it? And why did it stop as soon as I sent Aqua to look at whatever it was?
There were only a few demons left. I felt Namine's power boost my strength, and I tensed, but it looked like this time, there were no unpleasant side effects.
....had that been a flashback? To a memory I'd lost?
I shook my head. No time for that now. Quickly, I spotted whatever it was that was making this Crossing - a thin line of energy, the rip in the Veil itself. No demon was holding it open, then.
As I charged it, though, I noticed it slowly start to seal itself. Another lesser demon died, and it slipped closed even further.
Alright; just gotta take 'em out, then. I spiked a massive burst beneath one of the more powerful ones, before whirling and taking out another. I could feel my energy levels dropping, but there were only a few left.
"Everyone! Get those last few demons, looks like this thing is almost over!"

Aqua nods in response to Neku and then separates for fighting back to back to attack some of the demons farther away.

"You heard 'em Ang," I callout to my comrade as he seems to now solemnly attack the demons. "Lets get this over with... Please?" Its very rare I say that word to him, I am in higher rank than him so he's had to listen to me for a long time. But when I do I know that I've won whatever arguement or disagreement we were having/might have. So he looks over to me, nods, and then begins cutting into demons quickly. Only a few are left, we can do this!
