Whilst Namine held her thanksgiving dinner, Shizuo and Kasuka went for a much less formal approach. Dinner at the Veil. Tom's flight had been delayed meaning that Shizuo had been left with nothing to do all day, and it was safe to say that he was somewhat agitated, easy to ignite. He was relaxing just outside, sat on on the floor with a cigarette, back against the wall. He has almost finished and was about to head back inside when some local thug yelled "Hey! Barman! Stop slacking!"
The big green dustbin had hit the guy pretty hard, but his moaning showed Shizuo he was fine. Brushing off his hands he flicked the tab of the cigarette to the ground before turning inside. "What was that loud crash..?" Kasuka asked suspiciously, Shizuo simply shrugged "Those damn flying dustbins again... People should look our for those..." Kasuka sighed as his cousin sat down opposite him.

I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving much; usually my parents would have the cook serve up something turkey-related and, well, that was that. I had seen some posters about an inexpensive Thanksgiving special at some restaurant called the Veil, so I decided to check the place out. Couldn't go wrong with cheap food, right?
I walked inside and found myself a table. Looking around, there were quite a few suspicious characters spending the holiday here. Perhaps I could get some investigating done as well...

The Veil has quickly become my favorite place in Urbadelphia. The people were pleasant most days, fine drink, fine food. Love it. I sat back and watched the people come in. I've been starting to recognize regulars here, although I've never bothered to talk to them. I will someday, but I don't want to be drinking a lot when I do.
I sat back and ordered more to drink, my usual of rum and coke with some vodka. Gets you drunk as much as anything else would.

Pinkie sighed, disappointed that she'd missed out on any Thanksgiving parties that might be going on right now. If she were back in Ponyville, she'd be hosting a huge feast at Sugar Cube Corner with loads and loads of candy.
However, in this strange new place, she was alone. She'd wandered into The Veil, wondering where she was. Seeing all the people there amazed her, it was like a big party for "human"s.
She remembered her first encounter with a human, how shocked he was to see her. Perhaps I should try and blend in, she thought, quietly moving to a nearby table.

Shizuo noted two men walk in, and he could swear that he saw a pony follow behind them... But when he rubbed his eyes to double check, it had disappeared. He hadn't noticed it simply walk to a table nearby. The other two men looked friendly enough, both were blonde, one with a more golden blonde hair color much like his own, and one with platinum blonde hair. Shizuo swiftly realized he was pondering the hair color of two men and quickly turned back to his drink.
Kasuka was still looking through a menu despite Shizuo telling him that if it was thanksgiving he should just order the turkey dinner and be done with it. But his cousin being his cousin, was just continuously looking through the menus, umming and ahhing about what could be the best choice. "Kasuka, if you don't decide soon I'm going to throw you through the wall..." he growled, but his cousin simply laughed "Patience Shizuo... Patience..."

Pinkie had noticed people walking in, hoping that she would find a way to make a new friend. She wondered how she could talk to someone without startling them too much.

"Kasuka..." Shizuo rumbled "Kasuka!" he hissed much to his cousins chagrin "Shizuo, I've told you! Be patient!" Shizuo shook his head "I swear, I just saw a pink pony walk in here... And I'm pretty sure it's sat at the table in the corner... Please look and tell me I'm crazy..." Kasuka raised an eyebrow and looked over his shoulder "You-" he started saying before seeing Pinkie sat in the corner. He turned to his cousin, stony-faced "What... The hell..." he muttered to himself, his eyes widened at the sight. "I know..." Shizuo muttered "What should we do? I don't think anyone else has seen it... What if it's a demon?!"

Pinkie noticed Shizuo and Kazuka staring at her. She smiled at them brightly. She couldn't hear them from where she was sitting, yet she could tell from their expressions that they were surprised.

Everything seemed normal enough until I spotted the pink pony and muttered under my breath "What the hell?...' I knew this place was filled with strange urban legends and weirdness in general but a pink pony was pushing it a bit.
Either way I got up to investigate. This was just strange. When I got over to the horse, it looked like it was smiling at some table.
... I think someone put some kind of drug in my drink.

I couldn't comprehend this. What the heck was this trickery? A pink pony was sitting at one of the tables. A pink freaking PONY. What did ponies eat, anyway? Did they serve hay at this restaurant? I wonder what hay tasted like. Did human food taste to ponies what hay tasted to people? How was hay even made?
I shook my head. Focus, Demyx. I had a prime opportunity here to gather some information.
Standing up, I moved stealthily to the table next to the creature, rubbing my eyes. The pink was still there. This wasn't a dream, which meant it was real, which meant I should be investigating, which meant I wouldn't get a peaceful Thanksgiving dinner after all. Ugh, what a pain! But I guess I had nothing else better to do.
I decided that I'd better make a move fast; a blond guy and a tall man in a red trench coat were also eying the pony, and it looked like they had the same idea in mind. The guy in the trench coat had stood up and was now on his way over.
I waved at the pony, drawing her attention away.
"Hey there," I said, unable to think of a better introduction. "I'm Demyx. I'm, uh, doing a story on this place for the local paper." Nice. That'd fool her, I thought happily. "Can you tell me a little about yourself?"

"Paper?" Pinkie said, confused, looking up at Demyx, "What's that?"
She'd realised that people were staring at her, confused expressions on their faces. Opps...
"Well, my name's Pinkie Pie and-" She stopped herself, remembering what the advice that silver haired boy had given her.
"But one word of advice, there's an info broker named Izaya. He wears a long black coat with fur lining and if your smart you'll stay far away from him and even further if Shizuo's around. He wears a bartender outfit."
She choose her words carefully, ready to bolt any second. "What's your name?"

I blinked. She really didn't know what the paper was? Well, I suppose she was a pony.
"You know, like the news," I explained, annoyed. "The newspaper reports what's going on around town."
"Well, my name's Pinkie Pie and--" She stopped. She seemed confused, her eyes darting about the bar. I raised an eyebrow. This was going nowhere fast; I needed to get at least some information out of her.
"Pinkie Pie?" I repeated to fill the silence. "Interesting name."
"What's your name?" she asked.
"I told you, I'm Demyx," I said. "So as I asked before, can you tell me something about you? Where'd you come from?"

She looked into his eyes as he said his name. She had heard him before, but wanted to make sure he wasn't lying. She relaxed when she realized he was telling the truth.
"The news? You mean you're the one who tells people important stuff? Cool! I'm newsworthy!" she said, excited, "I'm an earth pony, and I'm from Ponyville, in Equestria! I've saved Equestria twice with my very best..."
She frowned, feeling homesick, "...friends."
Her frown vanished almost as soon as it had appeared, "I'm good at throwing parties! Do you need a party? Because I can throw you a party if you want!"
