EDIT: This takes place a couple days before the 17th of December, the day that Namine has decided (no, I'm serious... I had no say in this what so ever... I wanted it to be on the 20th she said hell to the no ^^'). So this is in the future, not too far, but per-warning... This is the day before she'll send out the SOS for help in decorating... I can't wait for the mistletoe *coughs* Anyways...

The snow falls softly now and I smile out at the winter afternoon, the window I see through misting with my breath. Everything seems to be going perfectly on schedule, good. Urbadelphia will be covered in a soft and bright white blanket by that evening, just the way I hoped it would be.
To say planning the perfect party was hard is an understatement. Its hectic, but worth it if its an excuse to A) dress up and B) see Neku. Because The Head of the Watchers is going to put his best foot forward whether I have to shove him forward or not. I don't care that it may get in the way of something else of his, I spent all this time trying to impress him, and no one else. So if no one comes but him and the setup/take down community, so be it. I may be frustrated, but at least I'd have Neku.
"Oh god... You have a Neku expression again," Darla's voice cuts through my thoughts as she comes up next to me as I look in the mirror. "Just remember your mother got married while my mother was in that dress."
Sighing I glare at my cousin through the reflection at which she smirks at, "Hey... You really did have a Neku look... This was one of those 'oh my gosh, does he approve? I hope he approves' looks." She rolls her dark eyes as she looks at herself in the mirror, smiling at her appearance. "You don't get it often and its only when he's not around, otherwise you usually have a set superior expression on your face... How mean of you."
"Excuse me?" I ground out as she now fusses with her hair and I leave mine be. "How is that mean of me?"
Darla snorts and she turns her suddenly blazing gaze onto me, "You like this boy, right?"
Do I like Neku? If she means I can't stop thinking about him and when I do I feel cold and lonely. Then yes, I'm madly and deeply in love with him. But I was far from saying that so I give a laugh, "What made you think that?"
"There goes another, you're even biting your lip," She laughs a little as she now turns her attention to my hair. "That's your 'I shouldn't be saying this, it may hurt someone' look... Which I bet only intensifies if you, ah, you must be thinking of him... You're blushing."
And the witch is right. I am, my cheeks strain themselves pink as I look away bashfully, "Am not... Do not." And I know I'm losing the battle to someone I haven't been able to read in years. "Stop that."
"But," She chuckles to no one, but herself. "I like making you jumpy... Highlight of my day... Now don't give me that look, jeez... Not as if I was trying to steal Neku from you."
I blink, "What?"
"I said, 'Its not as if--"
"I KNOW WHAT YOU SAID!" I begin to panic. What if she was lying, what if she turns him away from me... I would... I would. "Please don't Darla... I can't... Its hard to breath with out the thought of knowing he's there for me!"
"Whoa!" her hands shoot up dramatically. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm not driving anyone anyway, Princesss, just trying to help."
"You promise you're not lying?" I as skeptically as I look her over with a raises brow. She nods.
"Uh, yeah... I've seen what happened when auntie and uncle tried to take Angel away..." She sighs and looks away. "I've never seen one of our family so demonic..."
''I... I..." I can't even say anything to defend myself. All I can do is nod as she frowns down at our feet. "I... It... It was horrible."
She nods slowly, "Horrible." And I almost smile because despite the differences somethings we can sometimes agree on.
"Thanks Dar."
"Whatevs."

Hope you enjoyed and goodnight!
