It was Vergil's turn to patrol the streets of Urbadelphia for demons while Dante stayed back at the office man the phones, a task that elder twin gladly took on if only for the opportunity to spend some time away from his troublesome brother. At the moment he was walking along the dessicated streets in the Labyrinth, a rough side of town with a less than stellar reputation. Frosty blue eyes scanned the shadows for any movement as he walked along the streets and in the back alleys, Yamato clutched tightly in his hand.

Man, today was slow. In fact this entire week was slow. Nothing really seemed to be going on. Even Izaya seemed to be leaving me alone, hard to believe considering his infamous reputation. I pulled a cigarette out of the pack in my backpack and lit it up. Things really really needed to get in gear or I'll get bored to death.
That's when I heard footsteps around the corner. I pulled the cigarette from my lips and blew out the smoke. I walked as quietly as I could to the corner and looked around it. The back of a man, blue coat, strange white hair, long sword in hand, obviously very dangerous. I walked over out from around the corner and watched him for a second.
"You sure know how to make sure no one wants to mess with you, but it'd be better if you looked over you're shoulder here and there, don't you think?" I couldn't resist saying a snarky remark, how often do I get the chance anyways?

Vergil's attention was caught by the sound of footsteps behind him, he free hand ready to pull Yamato from its scabbard should the person foolishly try and attack his back. However it seemed that it would not be so as the person gave their position away by making a rather sarcastic remark, unless this particular individual enjoyed banter before trying to mug someone. He kept a rather dispassionate look on his face as he turned the face her, while he'd never actually met the woman before him he had seen her on occasion around the city. "It is hardly my concern if someone decides to play the fool." He replied to her remark about checking behind him, he was confident that his reflexes would help him counter any attacks to his back before serious damage could be done.

Watching his hands, he definitely meant business. "Don't worry, I'm no fool. Just giving you heads up that, although you seem capable, that there are plenty of strong people in this city that are bad company." I took a puff from my cigarette and leaned up against the wall. "You know Jack and his gang, the yellow scarves..." I stopped for a moment.
"Izaya, he apparently has a habit of getting inside your head. He's bad news to." I thought from my own experience, one visit and he was already inside my head. "You seem new here, so I figure you may as well know who to avoid."
I shook my head and flicked away the butt of my now finished cigarette. "What are you doing here anyways? You seem to be more the type to sit in cafes and read then be out throwing yourself into possible danger."

Vergil watched her carefully, looking for any sign of a sudden attack. As she had so astutely stated, he was indeed new and so was especially careful. He may have been confident that he could take whatever was thrown at him but he wasn't about to make a simple mistake as if he were just learning how to swing a sword. He mentally catalogued the names she mentioned, keeping them in mind for research later on. Finally he answered her question. "Patrolling." He then added onto the one word answer with a question of his own. "I take it that you know Izaya?"

Scoffing, I began to play with my lighter. "I've had a run in with him. I've also heard many questionable things about him, all of them had the familiar element of him being someone you shouldn't hang around." Unfortunate I already made that mistake.
"So why are you patrolling? You don't seem like police." I began to grow worried, despite the fact that he didn't look like CIA, he still managed to freak me out.

He couldn't say that what she said was overly surprising, Izaya had seemed like a rather odd character but it was good to know that what he had told Dante appeared to have some merit. He glanced towards where she was leaning on the wall and shook his head to her statement about how he didn't look like one of the police. "That would be because I'm not." That was when the atmosphere of the air began to change, the air thickening and taking on almost a sulphuric scent. The world around them shifted and took on a nightmarish appearance even as a portal to the Otherworld began to open. "That is why I'm patrolling." He said dryly to her.

A smirk played across my lips and I stood up. "A demon hunter then." I dropped my backpack and grabbed my pistols from my holsters. It had been so long since a crossing had occurred with me around that I should've expected myself to run into one sooner or later.
"Take it that means you know how to deal with them?"Good to know that I was with someone experienced with demons rather then a newbie to the whole otherborn thing. Helped to give peace of mind.

Vergil smirked as well, judging by her confident attitude as well as her near instant comprehension of his profession he guessed that she had some experience with demons. "Of course." He said simply as he smoothly drew Yamato from its sheathe. As the demons began to pour through the portal Vergil darted forward, drawing the sharp edge of his blade across the flesh of a demon.

As I shot, I observed the demons. They seemed to be nothing more then a bunch of lessers. no big ring leader, or anything. I grinned as a single thought crossed my mind. Well, won't this be easy.
I dodged a scythe and shot the demon attacking me and looked towards my new ally. He seemed to be doing pretty well, no wonder he was demon hunter. "Not bad, not often you seem someone both strong and fast." I couldn't help remarking. He was doing well.

Vergil smirked at the ease of which his katana cut through the demons, perhaps he wouldn't even need to use his devil trigger. As a demon came up behind him he quickly turned and stabbed through its midsection just as Aya made her remarks on his skill. "You're fairly skilled as well." He replied as he turned to quickly dispatch another demon, despite his abhorrence for guns he had to admit that she was certainly accurate with her guns. He guess that she might be able to even out-shoot Dante.
