We got some new members, and this will even help current members. We all know about our Crossings, but what was the inspiration for this? For this radical world where things twist and turn and become evil and exists to hunt you? Well, normally I wouldn't dare talk about this game, the fan reaction was very negative for a long time but now things are easing up and they're actually giving the game a chance. Anyway, this game was the inspiration for the Crossing and even Otherborn itself: DmC: Devil May Cry. But without further ado, for new members and old members alike, here is an example of a Crossing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCGxEAgS_QEYou'll also recognize the character Dante (Ninja Theory's Dante anyway, not the version here on OB) is the image I also use for Sora, so enjoy this Crossing example with Sora as your guide.

I don't understand the hate behind the new DmC, if it was an extension of the current Devil May Cry universe then I'd get it, making such radical changes and such.
But it's not even a rewriting of what's already happened, it's a completely new story altogether, what's so wrong with therefore using a completely different character? The only thing I have against Dante is the fact he smokes, the original Devil May Cry designer once stated that Dante was 'Too cool to smoke' so I think they should have at least kept that :')

You know it's funny, we only seen him smoke once, in one trailer. I haven't seen him smoke after that.

To be fair, there is exactly one trailer, the earliest concept design, that had Dante smoking - we've never seen him doing so since.
So, it's entirely possible that they've taken that out. *nod*
Also, I'm not really sure that this Dante IS a completely different character. To me, it seems lie they took 'our' Dante, regressed him back to rebellious teenager, and gave him some room for character growth. *shrug* But that's just my take. I can't wait for pre-orders to begin; I want this game.

N'yeeaaaaah, I'm not massively bothered if he does or doesn't smoke. It's a minor detail :') And I wouldn't say he's Just been tweaked slightly, there are some pretty big changes at least power wise. He's half angel, half demon now I think, I've not heard anything of Sparda, but it'd be naïve to rule him out because he hasn't been mentioned yet. And he bears a much stronger hatred for Demons than in the other games apparently as well! Personality wise though, I think he won't be changed much, but I'd be happy if Ninja Theory played around with the character a bit, they've not been asked to make a sequel after all

So that's what a crossing looks like. I always thought of it like the Silent Hill series when your crossing over from the normal world to the Otherworld. But that's just me.
I was never a big fan of DMC, but this game may make me change my mind. I love the idea of a teenage Dante.

Riku Nomura: this one is Ninja Theory's take on the Devil May Cry series, their doing a more darker, more psychological with demon ass kickery version of the series. More plot heavy.

Even better! I love a dark game with a meaty plot.
