”Roxas.”
The voice hissed, it was velvety, it was silky dare he say it, it was seductive.
”Roxas…”
It kept repeating that name, unless… Was that his name?
”Roxas. Wake up.”
Roxas opened his eyes, they were blue like sapphires and saw the world in a light that was rarely seen by most, he always had seen the best of things when he was younger and he’ll admit that as he’d grown up he’d gotten much more cynical. This was with good reason of course! Roxas had never known his parents, he’d lived in a small town with his friends Hayner, Olette and Pence. They all had similar upbringings but everything that could go wrong around them, usually did. It all hit a peak when one day, their hangout was attacked by twisted figures that Roxas could only describe as a demon! Roxas and Hayner, who together had always acted as the groups protectors, grabbed struggle bats and tried to fend the creatures off, but they were too strong… Hayner was bested and knocked unconscious and Roxas snapped, he felt the need to protects his friends and suddenly the struggle bat he was using changed, it morphed into a sort of key shaped sword. He couldn’t complain, using it he managed to fend off the demons and tend to his friends wounds.
In the hospital Roxas and Hayner talked about what he’d done, and Hayner told him he’d heard tales of others that had certain powers like that, he didn’t know the details but a he heard a lot of stories come from a city called Urbadelphia. Roxas made a mental note to check how much it would cost him to get there and wished his friend well before heading off for home. On his way out, he was ambushed again by the demons! This time around he had no weapon to defend himself, he had to make do with a stick he found on the ground and just try to stay alive… And it happened again, that sword appeared and he found himself suddenly able to slay the demons, he kept on fighting but more kept coming, how had no-one noticed this yet? Then he noticed, the passers by… They were frozen! They weren’t moving! Just like in the hangout, Roxas snapped but this time rather than getting a sword in hand (that was already there) he blacked out.
When Roxas woke up, he was in the hospital he’d been trying to leave just a few moments earlier, doctors told him that he’d just collapsed right outside the door and that they’d brought him in for treatment but he seemed un-injured, yet CAT Scans showed that his brain was under massive stress. Considering the results, they rendered him fit to leave and he was glad to find he managed to get home without yet again being ambushed. Once in the comfort of his bedroom, he started researching this city of Urbadelphia, and found a number of chat rooms where he could talk about it’s odd goings on. Making use of his username, Sairen, he had the following conversation.
Sairen: So, I hear that there’s stories of loads of people with weird powers and stuff in Urbadelphia!
Hoxy: Oh yeah! They’re all over the place… There’s this guy in town called Shizuo, I swear I saw him throw a vending machine!
Giga: Pffth, that’s nothing, I saw a fight between two gangs, The Blades and The Scarves, one side of them practically turned into werewolves! The others had a whole assortment of skills!
Klo: Giga, stop being such a tool, you’re clearly just trolling us now.
Giga: I’m being serious! Sairen, if you ever have the time, come down to Urbadelphia and you’ll see a whole assortment of odd stuff!
Sairen: I might just have to…

He’d leave for Urbadelphia in the morning.
The shocks and secrets he’d find out there…
But it had been almost two months since all of that, like I said, he’d grown up and I know that two months doesn’t seem like a lot to do as such but he has, The seventeen year old has grown more mature in those few months than he had in the rest of his life… In Urbadelphia he’d learnt all about demons, Otherborn the Otherworld and Halfers, that last one was what related to him…
He was a halfer, his father, or mother, he didn’t know which had been a demon. As such he also had significant strength and dexterity but he also seemed to have the ability to control the air pressure around him, and he’d mastered summoning that sword too! Not only could he now summon two swords, he had discovered he could change them by channelling different energies into them, his love and compassion for his friends had turned one blade into a glittering, ornate, silver sword. His innate demonic abilities adorned the second, making it a dark weapon containing all of his darkness. There was one more thing that Roxas had learnt, and it was by far the most worrying.
When he had lost his temper outside of the hospital, he’d given in to his demonic side, a demonic side had burst forth from him and slaughtered the demons before receding, rendering Roxas un-conscious. Ever since learning of its presence, the demon had lingered around his mind, whispering to him, taunting him, seducing him into letting it free. So far he hadn’t broken, but what if he did..?
It didn't matter now, he was awake and ready to face another day in Urbadelphia, despite being here a few months, he'd only really now just started to talk to people and make friends but no solid friendships like those with the people he knew back home had been formed yet...
