(Yeah, I kinda wanted to stay anyway. I just wanted to know if we needed to.)

The door opened into the back rooms at Veil - not just the one used as a meeting place, but several smaller rooms used as part of Veil's separate function as an Otherborn safehouse. "There's some changes of clothes in here," Lea said, pointing to a closet in the small, but homey room they'd entered, "and if you need a place to stay, there's also a couple rooms you can use back here as well." He smiled.

'It's much different from what I thought it'd be..' He thought to himself.
"Thanks Lea." Pit said quietly and in awe, sudden realisation in his eyes. "Oh yeah, who's Tifa? I didn't ask earlier because I forgot."

He grinned. "Tifa's the owner of this place. She's also my boss. And scary."

"Wait, are you serious? Scary?" Pit asked suddenly, a trail slithering down his spine. Oh gosh.
Eyes wide, suddenly he remembered something. "Here." He said, taking off his tiny bag that was latched over his shoulder. Pit opened the bag quickly and took eighteen dollars of cash. "Take this, it's for letting me stay here."

He laughed. "Only if you tick her off. She's actually really great, once you get to know her."
Pit them pulled out some money, and Lea shoved the offer back.
"No," he said. "We're a safehouse. A safe haven for people like us. We don't charge - and I won't accept your money, even as a gift of thanks. Tifa would skin me if I did - we don't take advantage of people. We help them. THat's what the Network's about. What's more, that's what Tifa's about, and Veil, and me." He shook his head. "We're not charging a little kid for the shelter that common, human decency demands he be given freely."
He'd crossed his arms during the speech, looking down at the short youngster. His eyes were determined.

"But..." Pit closed his mouth, thinking of a reason as to why Lea should take the money, since he seemed to have already stated as to why he wouldn't. He just constantly opened and closed his mouth like a fish, when suddenly, he realized something.
"I am not a little kid! Well, I mean, sure I'm kinda on the short side.." Pit quickly stopped himself from rambling. "Uh, I mean.. Back to the point! I'm not that much of a kid! Unless fifteen really is a young age, then I guess you could call me a kid..." He began to ramble again.

Lea stopped short. "You're fifteen? You... hey, kid, I'm sorry. I was under the impression that you were like ten or something, not like, two years younger than me..." He put a hand sheepishly to the bak of his head, smoothing out his wet hair.

Pit stopped his rambling short. He paused, counting with his fingers. 'Five plus two...'
"Seventeen? I thought that you were almost in your twenties." He replied sheepishly. 'Well, this is embarrassing.' Pit thought to himself. Until he got an idea. "I guess... We're even?" He said, a cheeky grin on his face as he outstretched his arm to shake hands with the older teen.

"Yeah!" he replied back, grinning as well and taking the winged teen's hand. He gave it a vigorous shake. "I don't blame you for thinkng I'm older. I'm massively tall for my age, just like you're pretty short for yours." He grinned.

Pit's hand was easily lost in the older teen's, and shook like a rag doll at Lea's shake. Once his hand released Lea's, he smiled, a little dizzy.
"Haha, right." He shook his head. "Anyway, I'll probably stay for a while... Er... At least until I can get a place for my own and get my back checked, and.." Pit paused. "Wait, that's a lot of stuff, isn't it? Maybe I'll just stay until I get better." He said while turning around, back facing Lea. Little did the older know, the celestial teen had slipped five dollars worth of cash into Lea's sleeve during that crazy handshake. Pit grinned to himself.
Well, to live on the streets for a few years, you've got to learn how to steal and place things, right?

"Nice trick," Lea said, grinning and producing the bill. "Still, if you insist so much, I suppose I've gotta keep it." He slipped it in his pocket. "Where'd you learn it?" he asked, sitting on a bench in the room. "You're pretty good - I almost didn't notice it. And feel free to stay as long as you like."

Pit's grin vanished. 'Rats.' He thought, snapping his fingers. Turning around to face Lea, he crossed his arms. "It's from a few years of experience. Looks like I still need some work, though." Reaching into his bag once more, he pulled out a chocolate bar and unwrapped it quickly. It was one of those caramel filled kinds. 'I'm gonna get fat of off eating these.' he thought to himself, shrugging.

"Probably not over ten years of experience," Lea replied. "I never practice anymore, so I'm rusty myself, but I used to be a decent hand at certain kinds of tricks. About all the use I get out of 'em now is as a hobbyist sleight-of-hand artist."

"Yeah, it's not really much. Maaaybee... four years? It's a possibility that it's five." He paused. "Seriously? You've got some thieving tricks? I'm gonna have to see one of those one day..." He mumbled
