Shizuo generally hated Valentines Day. For no reason other than he had always hated seeing all of the cutesy normal human couples live out their cutesy normal human lives without worrying about their cutesy human partners smashing their cutesy human heads through their cutesy human made walls.
But this year was different!
Shizuo would (to an extent) be a part of one of those cutesy human couples! It made him feel funny... How could he describe it? It was like he was... All... Well, fuzzy in side, it was just how Aqua made him feel, but when he stepped into the veil and saw a shock of Blue hair, he realized that he hadn't got her anything... At all... Looking left right and center for ideas he could think of nothing before suddenly he remembered what he was carrying in his pocket.
"Always carry this, ya'hear?" Tom said as he gave Shizuo the thin chain. "It's sort of like a mark, let's you know that you work for my boss! Keeps ya' safe on the streets!" It was when they were teenagers, at first the chain had helped but as Shizuo grew older, his bright blonde hair was all the safety he needed.
The chain was the perfect gift! It was close to Shizuo personally and had always been a sign of safety and protection.. Of course, he'd need to explain that to Aqua but... It's better than nothing!

Aqua looks up, scanning the room a quick moment before spotting Shizuo. She eagerly waves him over, "Hi," She says happily to him.
Midori lifts his head long enough to glare before pouting, if he knew he'd be even more depressed, and laying his head back down, "So he's Shizuo?" His voice muffled as his mother ruffles his hair and introduces him, confirming his question.
(Just assumed he'd come over ^^')

Shizuo walked over to Aqua and gave her a short smile "Hey." He replied in his usual monotone. He dug into his pocket and grabbed hold of the chain, he wished that he'd had one of those stupid, velvety cushion thing's that they normally put necklaces and watches on and such but he would have to make do with what he had. Leaning over the table slightly he held out his free hand "Close your eyes and put your hand in mine." He said with the smallest of smiles.

Aqua did as told, trusting Shizuo fully. Her eyes close and her head reaches out for his. Midori looks up again at the scene with a dark expression.

Shizuo pulled out the thin chain which he had worn so often all those years ago, and slipped it into Aqua's open hand. Using his now free hand, he closed her fingers around the chain. "You can open your eyes now, Happy Valentines Day, Aqua." He said with a smile.

Aqua does, examining the chain a moment before smiling up to Shizuo, "Thank you... I'm sorry I didn't get you anything." She now is embarrassed by both facts.

Shizuo chuckled slightly, simply shrugging at Aqua's comment "Ahh, don't worry about it. Valentines Day is more of a girls thing anyway." He glanced across at Dori who was looking particularly annoyed and/or bored. "So..." Shizuo said raising an eyebrow at Aqua "Who have we got here?"

"Hmmm?" Aqua looks to her son before smiling. "Midori? Do you want to introduce yourself?"
Midori sits up and gives Shizuo a once over, "Midori, you must be the man my mother constantly gushes about when she isn't yelling at me."
Aqua sighs, but decides to deal with Midori later, "Shizuo, Midori, Dori, Shizuo." She wave to each of them in turn, the chain held in her hand tightly so it doesn't go flying. "Do you want to sit, Shizuo?"

Shizuo raised an eyebrow slightly at Midori's apparent ignorance, after all it was the first time that they'd ever met and Shizuo can remember a few times that he was equally as ignorant towards a total stranger. Smiling across at Aqua he nodded "Yeah, sure!" He said, taking a seat.

"How have you been?" She asks softly as she gently smiles to Shizuo. "I hope you haven't been caught up in anything troubling recently." Midori just grumps and gets up.
"be back soon... Bathroom," And with that he goes off. Aqua sighs after him.
"I really should of just let him stay home and sew like he wanted to... Anyways... Back to you."

Shizuo wanted to press the issue of what was up with Dori further, but he thought against it... "You'll be pleased to know that I've been keeping my nose clean, actually" He said smiling, reaching into his other pocket he put the key that Aqua had given him to her house at the Masquerade on the table. "I haven't used it." He said, glancing at the bathroom door. "I was going to, but I saw Midori beforehand and decided it would be best if I didn't barge on in."

Aqua just smiles, "That's good." She glances down at the key, her hand holding the chain dangling in front of her heart. "I didn't except you to." She admits that softly, looking and into Shizuo's eyes, feeling bolder than usual.
"You're constantly telling me that you can handle things on your own... I didn't except you to want my help or believe you needed," She shrugs before looking down at the key once more, beginning to play with the chain a little. She's itching to ask why this specific item, but she just smiles once more. "You can keep it, we don't need it... Ahmmm." She sighs, thinking herself a coward for not being able to ask what's nagging at her, but she just watches Shizuo with a kind expression for now.
"So... What's your view point on Valentines day?"

Shizuo gave Aqua a small nod "It's not that I didn't want to use the key at all, it was moreover for the fact that I saw Midori had come home and I didn't really want to shock him by barging into the house with a key of my own." The corner of his mouth slipped upwards in a smile before answering her previous question "Normally? I'm not a big fan of Valentines day, it always seemed really pointless and pretty empty to me, there was never really any substance to it." He raised an eyebrow "But this year? Well, I have reason to enjoy it, don't I?"

"True... Dori would of freaked out for sure," She smiles softly, knowing her son and Shizuo are better off meeting on these terms. But shortly after she finds herself flushing fiercely. "Yes... Yes it seems we both do."
After a moment she sighs, "...I'm sorry if I'm a bore though... I don't know what to do during these sort of days..."
