Roxas stepped into the Veil (Early as always) and took a seat in one of the booths nearer the back in the shade where he would be harder to spot. It wasn't that he didn't trust this 'Haraken' guy that he'd been talking to on the web, it was just more so that ever since this voice in his head had got bolder, he'd just become generally more cautious, save for a few exceptions. Either way, he sat and he waited.
"Are we going to kill him?" the voice asked impatiently which earned it a solid rebuke from Roxas "What?! No! We're not going to kill him! That's just weird! Why would we do that!" Although it had no physical appearance, Roxas could feel the voice shrug "Why, for all we know, dear Roxas, this guy could be a demon! Shock and awe! A demon in Urbadelphia!" Roxas sighed aloud, once against chastising the voice within his head "They're not all bad you know..." He muttered to himself "Ahh! But on the contrary!" the voice exclaimed "All demons deep down have an urge to kill, even you, that's what I am." Roxas grunted his disapproval as someone entered the Veil...

I looked around, trying to figure out which of the patrons here was my online contact. I was wearing the glasses of course, just like I had told him... and I knew that he would be able to see anything that had been programmed y them, like the bag at my side. Still, I knew well enough by now that many Urbadelphians had that power.
I breathed a sigh of relief as I noticed a boy in a checkered jacket, just the way he said he would be. I walked over to him, looked uncomfortable.
"Um... are you Sairen?" I asked quietly.

"He's weak. Look at all the gadgetry he's wires up to. We'll see how wel it defends him against me."
Roxas shrugged the voice aside as he stood up with a nod and offered his hand out to the newcomer "Yeah! That's me, you must be Haraken, right?" Subtly he was looking him up and down, physically he didn't exactly seem like a fighter, but that didn't surprise Roxas much at all. He hadn't exactly been expecting Mr Universe. If it was to be believed, all of Haraken's power came from those glasses he was wearing, which admittedly piqued Roxas' interest.

I took it. "Yes," I replied, shaking his hand. His grip was strong - almost too strong for his size. And something... I shook my head slightly, clearing the slight fuzz away from my vision. "It's nice to meet you." He hadn't told me much about himself, just that he had some strange powers, powers like I'd seen the Otherborn use when I met them.

"Nice to meet you to!" Roxas said with a grin as he motioned to the booth behind him "Shall we sit?" He asked, he didn't wait for Haraken's reply before he himself turned around and took a seat. As he laid back he could hear the voice in his head already protesting.
"Huh... You haven't killed him yet... Can't blame you really he doesn't look to be worth the fight if I'm being honest, but you know, it's your choice! All down to you! ... I won't influence your choice... I'll leave you to it... All on your own... Without... Me..."
The voice gave a small awkward cough which Roxas mentally shrugged off.

I nodded and sat, looking around. I'd only been in here once or twice before, and the first time, it had given me a headache, too many things that I wasn't supposed to be able to be.
"DOes everyone in this town have something to hide?" I asked quietly as I spotted someone walk in with a set of what looked like tattoos that shimmered in a way that told me I was the only one who could see them.

"Almost everyone." Roxas said with a small smile and a wink, it seemed that Haraken knew a fair bit already, and he doubted that he would need to explain much at all to his current companion. All the same, he rested his elbows against the table and looked across at Haraken "I mean, I have a secret, you have a secret." He motioned to a familiar red-haired barman "He has a secret. Almost everyone does!" He chuckled "It's part of the fun of living here, figuring out whose secrets are worth knowing, and whose are just little things like they're having an affair or something!"

I smiled softly.
"I'm... I'm here to find a... a particular secret," I explained. "I mentioned something about it online, but... I don't always know who I can trust."
It made me sound paranoid. It didn't matter in the slightest - I was.

"This wimp sounds like a deer caught in the headlights..."
He pushed the voice aside and focused on what Haraken was saying and gave him a small nod "Well, what is it? I'll tell you what I know if anything, and if not well, I'm sure I'll be able to help you in one way or another!"

I closed my eyes, making the decision to trust. I didn't have any reason not to, and something otld me that it would be a good idea.
"....there was a girl I knew, someone special to me. Her name was Kanna. She and her friends... they were always an odd group. Active in the hacking community, but they had a little community of their own. After a while, Kanna moved here, to Urbadelphia... she never came home."
I took a shuddering breath.
"...the official reports said it was a car accident. But I've never heard of the CIA officially investigating a car accident, and neither had my aunt, who was here on assignment. So I... I started investigating Kanna and her friends. And I found... nothing. Nothing at all. They helped me out, a little, but... everything was mysteries. And when I'd finally tweaked the glasses to the point they could help me, I moved here. But I've been... seeing these things, noticing them... and learning that the things I'm seeing, others can see too. And I'm starting to wonder if this hidden world is what Kanna died for."

Roxas hummed on the situation for a moment, trying to think of any possible way that he could help the young boy sat in front of him. He tapped his chin for a few seconds and then raised a finger "I think I know someone you could ask!" He exclaimed before lowering his voice and leaning in close. "There's this guy... A demon... He's a slippery guy who deals in information..." He looked left and then right.
"I've never met him, but I've seen people who has, he knows nearly everything... Just don't go to see him alone and don't expect to get the information for free, that's all I'm saying!"

A demon? I remembered what Sini had said about them. Did I really want to deal with them?
"Besides," I murmured out loud, "I don't have any money..."

"Apparently, that's not how it works with this guy..." He once again looked left as right in a dramatic display of checking that no-one was eavesdropping in on their conversation before once again leaning in close to Haraken. "He works in favours... He may cash it in hours after your deal, or days, weeks, months, even years! But one day he'll ask for your help in return... At least, that's what the rumours say!" He nodded to himself before resting back in his seat.
"But only use him as a last resort! Don't get tangled with demons if you can avoid it!"
"Like you did? You did a great job of avoiding demons, Roxas."
Roxas once again mentally repelled the voice away from his mind and train of thought.

"I think... I may have heard of him," I ventured, thinking back to a previous chat I'd had with the guys from the Urbadelphia Rumors forum.
---
General_Red: Hey guys, check this out: I keep hearing about this guy in Urbadelphia, who can get you anything for a price.
Haraken: Really?
0n3g4i: whut tht info broker guy? hes just a myth, reel guys just a nuts0.
Keystone: Nuh-uh. generals telling the truth, word on the streets says the same thing. but you gotta be careful, never know how expensive the info's gonna be.
Haraken: What do you mean?
Keystone: they say this guy doesn't always trade in money. and if you don't have the cash, he's perfectly fine... but the more expensive the info, the higher the price.
0n3g4i: get reeeelllll.
General_Red: Some people? Say he's not even human.
----
Suddenly, I gave Sairen a worried look. He looked distracted by something, and slightly uncomfortable.
"Are you alright?" I asked.

"Heh." Roxas let out a little chuckle as he rubbed his forehead with the palm of his hand and looked across at Haraken. "I'm fine! I've just got a bit of a headache is all, I've had a lot on my mind recently." He smiled grimly at the prospect of his inner demons growing stronger with each passing day. How long would it be until it eventually burst forth into the world like it had back in Twilight Town outside the hospital? Well, if it did, he could only hope everything froze like it had then and that no-one would come out of the situation unscathed.
"Don't be foolish Roxas. I just do what you want to do, save that I don't have any of your so called 'morals' I just prefer to cut the corners and be done with the job before it becomes an issue. That's the problem with you humans, far too soft for my liking. But it's okay, Roxas! I'll make a man out of you yet!"
He could feel the voices wolfish grin.
