"I don't understand..." I said quietly. "I shouldn't be alive anyway..."
Still, I couldn't let myself die, either.
Was this what had happened to Kanna? Had she lain on the pavement, slowly losing sight and sound until there was nothing left of her?
I couldn't die until I learned why she had. It was the only thing that had kept me alive so far, and it was going to keep me alive for as long as I needed a reason.
One fist clenched, somehow the only part of me still strong enough to move.
I would not die here.

Jeremy grinned as his glasses began blinding his vision with graphs and readings. "Ah.. Here we go..." was all he said. He had no worry for his friends... They could take the hits. They were doing what they were asked to do... ______________________________________________________ Odd and Jaden were injured, but they both just grunted it off. "It'll take more than that, Saori!" Odd calls. He was beginning to get angry. Demons, especially cocky ones like him, made him angry. The only exception was Jaden.... The Shining seemed unphased. He was scratched, but showed no signs of pain. Jaden grins. "Come on now, he's still very strong. And about to get stronger!" Jaden takes the top two cards from his deck and smirks. "Get rid of these to fuse them! Come out, Great Tornado!" Spawning now in a gust of wind is Elemental Hero Great Tornado, whose summoning only made The Shining stronger. "Attack, both of you." Jaden commands in a flat tone. The Shining once again uses his ray of light, as Great Tornado, begins spinning, becoming a tornado himself, flying directly at Saori. |

Saori growled at the attacks coming towards him, he needed to think quickly, and that he did. Gathering energy into the one hand that he was using he punched it forwards in an aggressive manner towards the twin attacks divulging towards him. The Shining's blast seemed to be stronger, so he focused on that, slowing it down enough he slid to the right, the tornado blast dragging him back slightly into the path of the ray of light.
The attack grazed his shoulder, sending him spinning away from the pair. Landing on his feet, he slid across the ground kicking up plumes of dust before stopping. One hand hung limply at his side whilst the other was held up in a defensive position. "Oh fooey..." Saori sighed before glaring up at those he was fighting "You hurt me!" He roared "You hurt me!" Growling he swung down his free hand, Roxas' dark black sword spawning within his palm "You're going to pay..." He hissed.

Jaden smirked. "Alright, then. Cash or check?" Even with the flat tone, Odd was laughing hard. Jaden shakes his head. "This isn't working well enough. We need more power..."
Jeremy grinned. "Using that now, are we, Jaden?"
Jaden nods once, face returning to expressionless. His multi-colored eyes never left the empty red of Saori's as he reached to his waist. Jaden removes a bad from his waistline and opens it, and reaches in. He pulls out a second Duel Disk, one make of pure black metals, and a gold trim to match his current armor. He put the cards from his current one on the new one, and took the red one off. The instant the new one slid on his wrist, it began radiating a black heat, and the edges looked like an angry, black fire. "This is the next-best thing to my final power, Mr. Saori. Please do not think ill of me that I must use this against you."
At this point, Odd knew it would be best for him to stay out of this.
"Shining. Great Tornado. Attack once more. Finish off this demon. He's not good enough for Jeremy to study. We misjudged him." Then Great Tornado becomes a tornado once more, and the Shining holds his palms out to the tornado, infusing it with the raw power of light. "Go." Jaden commands, and Tornado flies, faster than before, at Saori, The Shining not too far behind to deliver a devastating punch.

He smirked, he just had to make sure that Roxas' body wasn't destroyed in order to survive, he needn't worry about the pain of it. It would be Roxas that got all of that at the end of this.
Still, the force of the tornado caught him by surprise, and before he even had a chance to be thrown backwards, The Shining's punch connected with his jaw. Saori was sent flying backwards into the wall of the stadium, sending chips of concrete and dust off in all directions. Growling, he pulled himself from the wall. "You... Pest..." He growled, he could feel Roxas gaining strength within his mind, his time was almost up, he believed he had time for a few parting words.
"Next time... I'll kill you..."

Jaden didn't un-summon The Shining and Great Tornado. It could have been a trap.
"Don't worry about it, Jaden... His demonic energy is falling. You can relax now." Jeremy calmly replied. His glasses had calmed to almost nothing as he watched one chart drop to almost 0%.
Jaden nodded once, his Duel Disk calming to a slow ember as he removed it, returning the cards to his deck. He then fell to his knees, his armor dissipating and leaving him in his normal blue jeans and red-white jacket. He was breathing heavy. "Man, that takes a lot out of me..." He says, finally letting himself laugh.
Odd groans and retracts his armor in a puff of blue code. "Let me do something next time, Jaden! You always steal the spotlight!" He then laughs, leaving the two acting like Saori was still not there as they begin acting like little kids, making explosion noises and using their arms to talk about the battle that just happened.
"Saori. You surrender now? If you choose not to kill us now, please leave, so that I may take my companion to the hospital.

Roxas' eyes opened, sapphire in color as he looked about with a groan. "Wh-what happened...?" he asked. His head felt like it was being hit repeatedly with a hammer. A very, very big hammer. Brief recollection of memories came to him but nothing at all too stable.

Jeremy raised an eyebrow at the boy. He no longer had the same energies. The being from before was not the same. And Jeremy grinned, walking over to the boy, signalling for Odd and Jeremy to help Haraken. They obeyed, and Jeremy held his hand out to the boy. "I'm afraid you weren't... quite yourself, kid. Would you like to accompany us? I'll tell you whatever you need to know. Of course, I would like some answers... A fair trade, yes?"

I looked up; when Jeremie's friends, I could only assume Jaden and Odd, moved me, the blood had run somewhat out of my eyes. My glasses were clenched in one hand, bloody, but somehow alright.
I could almost see the boy kneeling on the ground, and I could almost... almost recognize...
Did recognize.
"Roxas...?" I asked, my voice a hoarse croak.

"I'll trade you information for a hell of a lot of Ibuprofen..." Roxas groaned as he took Jeremy's hand and pulled himself up to his feet. Holding a hand to his head he heard Haraken speak, turning to the voice he frowned before rushing over as fast as his legs, and his head, would carry him.
"Haraken?!" He cried as he looked down at him "Are you alright?!"

I laughed quietly.
"Just... a flesh wound," I managed, trying to put a ositive spin on it and trying to pretend that I wasn't only standing because Jaden and Odd were holding me up. "You've got... a good arm..."

"I've got a good arm?!" He exclaimed with a frown, before looking down at his hands, caked in blood. Realization dawned on him. "Oh god..." he breathed "I did this?!" He demanded with a shake of his head "No No No... I knew that something was happening but... But not this!"

My vision was starting to blur again.
"Nnn... don't... be too hard......"
The world spun, everything went black; I was no longer capable of supporting any of my own weight, and I nearly fell out of Jaden's grasp...
