Her arms wrap around his shoulders and he can freely cry in her castle of protection. For as small as they both are, she is the only one that can save him from his fear of knowledge, she makes him feel human. His fake blue eyes slip shut as her clear, ocean blue ones watch him with a burning intensity, "I won't let him hurt you like that again." He shutters at her tone of voice, its almost demonic, it almost sounds like her mothers. But it also is comforting to him, calming to his hyper sensitive being.
"Pro-Prom-Promise?" He gets out with only a little chocking on air, he can feel her little hands reach up and take his head in them. Then its being tilted down, damp kisses being pressed to his forehead.
"Promise," Her voice is stronger than he can ever hope to be, even if she's such a frail creature. She stands strong while he shakes and quakes. "Angel will never lay a finger on you again..."
---
"ANGEL!" A rather furious and rather adorably angry Namine Joy LeBeau stalks over to her elder by many years. Her hair seems to stand on end and her eyes talk of death, her little fists clenched tight enough to turn white. But the person she's yelling at can only see the cuteness in this.
Crouching down, yellow eyes sparkling, he crosses his arm around his knees and rocks on his toes, "Yes, Little Miss?"
She glares a long moment before, "What did you do to my friend? He's frightened to leave his room!"
"Too frightened," Angel corrects with a lazy smile as he reaches out and takes one of her tiny fists in his hand. "And I've done nothing, but taught him a lesson in importance."
She glares and says in a bitingly cold voice, "He says you raised a hand to him." This causes the elder to freeze, his eyes widening, that isn't a part of his memory... But then again he's been blocking out recently.
His blond spike covered head bows, "I... I... I don't believe I did." Her response is a gasp, she can feel the unsureness in Angel like she could feel the fear from her friend. "But... But I could... I could be... wrong." She lets herself feel something, but anger, suddenly she feels sorry for him.
She also knows what's going on. Her hand, the one not being held by Angel, reaches out to hold the elder's face. Her gaze on him is still angry, but it has soften immensely, "Your anger is flaring again, isn't it?" He had told her that he has anger problems and that Avidity gave him medication to keep it at bay... But he didn't really like the meds... "... Well... If you don't control it... I'll report you to Daddy." Reporting something like this to her mother would only result in laughter, now her father - Leo LeBeau - would take this a personal threat and treat Angel as such until he deemed the blond cured... And the last time that happened neither Namine nor Denise were too happy with the end results.
"I... I know," He says almost pathetically. "Maybe... If your friend... smelled more like you... I could control myself better?" It was an innocent enough idea and she takes it...
---
"Here."
An object lands in his lap and he looks up at her confused, "Nam-Nami-ne? Wha--?"
"To protect you, silly," She sits next to him and pulls him into her arms. "For the times that I can't." Her head rests on his shoulder.
"You... You su-sure?" He frowns as his fingers play with the chain, its silver and strong in his palm. "Wha-what if i-it an-ang-angers some-someone?"
"Pish posh," she smiles into his shoulder and runs her fingers through his beautiful, red hair. "Then I'll have then punished."
"I-I-I," He now flushes as he reaches the locket on the chain, its studded with Sapphires and Diamonds, beautiful, but not as much as her lovely heart is. "Th-tha-thank y-you."
"No problem," She laughs into his shoulder...
---
He lies awake, the cheap, fold up bed making his back hurt, mainly because its too soft. He's no longer that weak and meek little thing he was before, he can stand on his own to feet now. And around his neck hangs that locket, Zakyrie was never allowed to trick it from him. And now he, though whenever he thinks of her he feels small, Zane knows she gave him the strength to move forward for all these years.
He wants to repay her, but doesn't know how. Maybe it will all start the same way that she did for him. Maybe he'll find her and just take her hand in his, offer his arms as a place for rest like she did him. Maybe they'll become friends once more...
Maybe she'll make good on her second promise...
---
They had been been sitting on the edge of the building for a while now, their feet just kicking. She looks over to his with a smile, he smiles shyly back. Her locket on his neck and swinging in the wind. Her hand rests over his, "One day... I'll marry you... and all our problems will go away." Her voice whispers to him as he looks to her, confused. But she just laughs and leans over to kiss his forehead. And that's the day he finally realized why she had such an effect on him, why he always felt safe...
