Aqua hadn't stopped by her house to know that damage had been done, she had been there and she has eyes to have seen it. She knows she's got a lot of work to do, but it can't be any harder than twelve years ago. So with her head held high she walks through the home improvement section, only half wishing that she had someone with her to help, even if to just lighten the darkish mood.
She had left her boys with their uncle, telling them that she had to go back and rebuild their lives. And re-build she will. Once she figures out what kind of beams she needs, dry walling and all the other fun stuff of re-ficken-building a house for a second time.
"Could be worse," She sighs to herself. "I could be worrying one of the kids." Since getting home, all of ten minutes or so ago, she hasn't run into anyone. She's worried about everyone, but still...
"I hope Sora is doing better... Shiki too," She sighs as she walks along, blindly, sad, and hoping to run into someone whether familiar or new doesn't matter to her, as long as they're nice. Besides, she can't be the only one looking at wood, right? RIGHT?

"WHAT WAS THAT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY?!"
The incredibly distinctive roar of Shizuo Heiwajima's 'angry voice' rang out through All-Mart as his attempts to buy Aqua a 'welcome home gift' seemingly went down the drain. He'd spotted a nice necklace, but apparently, some goon had put up the wrong price tag, so having saved up since his vacation, he still didn't have enough. He clearly wasn't settling for second best.
"You listen here punk!" He growled, grabbing the clerk by the collar an dragging him closer, half over the counter, and pushing their faces together, nose-to-nose. "My girlfriends back any day now! And I want to surprise her with a nice present! So how about you stop being such a JACKASS and let me buy the damned necklace?! Or else your face, and that nearby wall are gonna' become close acquaintances!" The clerk gulped before giving a few quick nods, it seems that Shizuo suddenly had enough money.
Taking the spoils of his personal war, including a free bottle of hair dye courtesy of the clerk, he headed for the door, before spotting a unique blue hairstyle. He had to hide the huge grin from his face as he approached Aqua casually, as if it were all still a surprise.
"Hey Aqua! Welcome back! Got you a present."

Somethings will never get old.
Somethings have long since gotten stale.
But somethings will always stay fresh in you memory, such as the fact that she just heard Shizuo literally using a scare tactic on a cashier. Even though hearing his voice and seeing him again does send pleasant shivers down her spine as she turns to him. As much as she wants to fight off the on coming smile she can't, instead she says, "I heard... You were a little loud." But her feet do shuffle and she does blush a moment, seriously wanting to just hug him close.

"Oh... You heard that huh..? Yeah. There was a problem... Something to do with the guy that handles the price tags..."
He shrugged lightly, before tactlessly holding out his hand, in which he held the necklace. It was a thin silver chain, with a small blue sapphire set in the middle. It was nothing too flashy, but it had cost him all his last pay cheque on both his debt collecting and demon hunting jobs, so he was somewhat proud of himself.
"I thought it matched your hair..." He admitted "Girls like the whole colour co-ordination thing, right..?"

Aqua blinks and then gently takes the necklace into her own hands, a warmth over coming her, a crashing of emotions in her, "Shizuo." And her arms wrap around him and she buries her face into his chest. "I've missed you!" As awkward as they could get, they fit, she can feel it. And it, though she was happy to have her boys safe, she missed him too, painfully so.

Shizuo wrapped his arms around Aqua's shoulders, as if it had been what he'd planned to do anyway. His hopes of a vacation relaxing him hadn't worked out too well, he'd spent most of it worrying about Aqua and the kids, despite her assurances they'd be safe. That felt odd to him, the way he instinctively said 'The kids' to himself instead of 'Aqua's kids' or 'Her kids', but it brought a smile to his face all the same.
"I was scared you wouldn't come back..." He muttered. "You promised you would, but I was scared you wouldn't. You never got in touch whilst you were gone, and I thought you'd want the time with the kids so I let it be, but there was that one small part of me, the worst part of me, that feared the worst case scenario."
He realised he was babbling somewhat, but it didn't stop him blurting out the end to his rambling.
"I love you, Aqua... I never said that before you left..."

Her mind quite literally freezes, her body stilling, her cheeks pool with heat. But when she looks up its an odd mixture in her eyes: adoring, tenderness, happiness, but under all of those and mixed in is fear. Something she knows will always be there, something that will poison her mind and its responses, but she never thought in this way.
Dammit all, he said- Shizuo said he loves her!
Her mind slowly melts and she smiles before her lips form the words she hasn't said in god only know how long and meant it like this, "I... I love you too, Shizuo." Its now that her face feels wet, a relief has washed over her senses, her body moving in time of breathing again. Taking a hand from its rest place, she bring it to her face and wipes up a couple stray tears, still smiling. "I really, really love you, honey... I'm sorry I never called or anything, the boys like the beach a little too much." Even though she's speaking she's not really focused on what's she saying, she's more focused on him and her thundering heart, absentmindedly she notes she's still crying.

Shizuo raised one of his hands and rested it on Aqua's cheek, despite the dampness left by her tears. He gave her a tender smile, a rare occurrence for him, which only increased its importance in his eyes. Looking down on her, he leaned down and gave her a quick kiss.
It was nothing more than usual, but after what had just been said, it felt like there was something there behind it, like a little extra meaning added onto what was already there.
It was then he realised they were stood in the middle of the D.I.Y department of All-Mart... Not that it bothered him. No-one, or at least, few people had the guts to interrupt Shizuo, and he doubted any of those people's had a construction conundrum to worry about at the moment.

Even as quick as the kiss was, her heart pounds just as hard in her chest, she still can't... Well she can... well she, just...
She smiles and leans up to press her lips more fully about his, she doesn't mind where they're at or if anyone saw them. Currently she's in heaven and the only other person that matters is Shizuo.

He wrapped his arms around her waist, smiling through the kiss despite himself, it wasn't like he could help it at all. He had to admit, he felt even a little bit childish, grinning like a fool over a kiss, but it was Aqua, so he could make an exception here.
Pulling away from her, he condensed his smile into a much smaller smirk which he found more characteristic for him and spoke.
"So... How was your 'holiday' then?" He asked "Everybody have fun?"

She laughs softly and gradually lets go of him before answering, "Yes we all had fun... The beach and all... We had a few narrow escapes from my mother though." She shakes her head. "I sometimes feels guilty of what I've done to her... She's lost her spark since I left."
She shakes her head a little harder, clearing it, "The kids loved it through. My brother has a private beach and loves swordplay on top of that all." She smiles softly now, her expression so soft and loving if she saw it she would blushing like mad. "I wish you would of been there."

One part of her answer really struck him, and he couldn't help but bring it up.
"Wait, your mother..?" He frowned for a moment, as if contemplating something. "Well, I thought something was funny about that woman... Someone was in town the other day, asking about you. Claimed to be your mom. Thought it was a bit suspicious, like she barely knew anything about you."

"She hasn't seen me in fifteen years so," Aqua shrugs before sighing. "Shizuo... Can you help me find building supplies? I want to repair my house before moving the boys back." She also realizes she'll need to get a new job soon... She wonders if Veil is hiring... Or All-Mart for that matter! I'll have to look into those.

"She looked pretty young for being your mother, now that I think about it..." Shizuo said with a frown, more to himself, finding it odd that he hadn't even really taken any note of that at the time, it was only now when he thought back that it came to mind.
"But sure, may as well, what good am I for anything but heavy lifting, huh?" Shizuo wasn't one for changing the tone in his voice, or his facial expression, but all the same, simply the way he said the last phrase had an air of humor about it. Making it sound more like the joke it was meant to be rather than a cynical statement.
