"Have you ever had a character that would make you cower in fear? Perhaps be motherly? Or fill you with a sense of innocence? If you had one of these or all you know you were in a thread with Wresie, the players of Namine Lebeau, Aqua, and Kiara. We are going to talk to one of Otherborn's most diverse roleplayer about her characters, her rping, and future for her characters."
----
Q: Welcome to our interview Wresie, its been awhile but if my memory is correct you are the fourth person to be on Otherborn in the beginning. If you could, tell us how long you have been doing roleplaying?
A: Roleplaying in general I've been doing for about three years now. It all started with relationship RPs where I often was faced with fixing the broken characters or being the protector of the weak for my roleplay partners. Roleplaying has defined me as a person and is a major part of my life, its shaped me since I started doing it and has made me the "slightly" irrational person I am today. Also, yes your memory serves you correctly~
Q: It is, in my strong opinion, you play some of the most diverse and interesting characters on this site. Between the many emotional ticks of Namine Lebeau to the tortured motherly figure Aqua. Do these personalitys come naturally for you or does it take time to create these kind of characters?
A: Both actually. Aqua was the hardest because I see her as how I want myself to be. Always putting my children and lover first. I want to have lived and yet not lived. While Namine is purely my emotions, she is almost literally an insert of myself and is perfectly natural to play her even if somethings I make her do or go through personally effect me at times. Same goes for Kiara, she is the childishness in myself and the fierocity of the animalistic side in myself. When I create characters I always make them with a certain part of me in them, if I can not related even in the slightest with a character I quickly grow bored and abandon them.
Q: So it can be said you greatly invest yourself in your characters?
A: Yes, it can be. But that doesn't mean I don't mind torturing them. Nor does that stop me from doing so.
Q: And with that statement brings up our next topic: Angel and Namine, quite a tense story and history between those two. What ran through your head when you concocted that idea?
A: Oh dear goodness, honestly nothing much. Although later on I realized I was using Angel to represent my own life and how I can't escape it as much as Namine can't escape him. Which is part of the reason why Namine can't live with out him stuck to her, the other part being that he literally took a part of her when he was ripped away and when he... But like I said that wasn't until later that I noticed the relations. Honestly I just wanted to make Nami less useless of a character, look where that got her...
Q: So what did the addition of Neku in her life add to that equation?
A: It both freed her and trapped her further. It made her realize that things didn't always have to be the way they were, but she couldn't move forward. It made her confident in herself, gave her a reason to keep fighting, actually the Network in itself gave her a reason to push on. If she never would of heard of it she would of ended up bound to Angel forever and Avidity's plan would have worked the first time around compared to having to jump to the back up plan. I'm ramboling, let me get back to the topic... Neku showed her not just what it is to feel love again, he reminded her to be human - although she hates being weak around him - and he opened up a part of her she thought she long since lost.
On a side note the whole connection she has with him now, since being seperated from Angel has changed her. She is even less stable than before, her emotions may seem well kept, but that's hardly true, in reality its only time before she falls into a relaspe and begins having nightmares again. Neku may be able to save her from outside forces, but the problem is rooted into her own mind...
Q: And another reason that backs up your huge diversity in character thought and creation.
Speaking of your character's troubling history, I was hoping you could elaborate on Aqua's past and the father of her children if possible?
A: Well, besides what happened in the story I have on DA.
Which explains how she met Dia and Angel, Aqua loved Dia from the beginning. He has always been gentle with her and Angel despite the fact he is a darkness demon with a vampire bat anthro like natural form. Aqua and him from day one were inseperable, friends for life or so they thought. They crossed the line in junior year when they had been dared into a game of spin the bottle (Aqua never one to back down from a dare and Dia one to never leave Aqua hanging). The break through happened when they kissed and from that moment on they knew they were meant to be. Although when Senior year rolled around Dia had to leave more frequently than before due to his father's summons of him, trying to teach him to be a "true demon" (and by this point in time Angel had already grown jealous). Lets just say they didn't have the best relationship and its around this time that Dia tells Aqua all he's done in his life, all the good and all the bad. Before he had met a certain demoness named Destani he never knew something so pure nor gentle could exist, this thing was called peace. He longed for world peace and to end the stupidity of the Otherworld trying to take over the Human world. Aqua agreed with him fully and always... Well... Until she found out she was pregnant and we all know how well that worked out (*points to teenaged Angel*).
After Dia's death, neither fought on his side nor understood, Aqua returned to the city she had ran to Urbadelpia. Its here that her shyness began when she was treated like an outcast, hated by both humans and Otherborns a like. The only comfort she found was in the thought of her children so she swore to protect them always and not just from the world, but from themselves as well. She would never let them become demons like her once friend did...
Q: Quite an expansive story, took a lot of thought into it. Perhaps then you could answer in your thoughts, what does Shizuo do to Aqua now? His impact on her life and their relationship?
A: That one is simple. Shizuo is her form of both healing and braking. He sets her on a whole new level. Learning to love again and to feel loved, its a wonderful thing. With out him though I'm quite sure she wouldn't be as bold as she it now, she actually, despite how little I mention it, is a much stronger character now. Shizuo completes her and makes her happy, something she's only experienced in short bursts since the day Dia was murdered. But also at the same time he challenges her, makes her think, makes her fear for something beyond her niche. He opened her heart more than Sora, Shiki, and all those others she considers her children ever could. And in doing so he broke past her defenses, wounded her in a way she will never admit. But one thing is for sure, if Shizuo ever dies Aqua will cease to be functional, she depends on him more than she gives him credit for.
Q: Lets talk about the new saga "Ascension". Which takes place after the yet to be released City of Vengeance. All we know so far is something went horribly wrong, and Sora took the fall to protect the Network. So I must ask, what has Namine and Aqua been doing in those six months and how do they cope with the situation?
A: Aqua has... Been forcing herself to go about her usual routine. Keeping her kids safe, watching after Shizuo, trying to find time to be with Shiki, ect. She has been trying to avoid entering crossings though, not wanting any sort of reminder of the man she called her child. Sora going missing literally punched a hole in the already fragile heart that Aqua has. Although one positive thing has happened after this, Namine began to become close friends with the mother, training with Aqua's children to ready them if they ever need to protect themselves properly...
Namine on the other hand has devoted herself to the Network. Or more specifically she's devoted herself to Neku. She's made it her mission to keep him as little stressed as possible while also helping him, or at least trying to help him, recover the past he's missing. She's learned how his powers work to a point where he no longer literally saps engery from her when they tag team, but she knew this type of fighting was unhealthy for her so she sought out Aqua. She befriended her and then helped the woman's children to become stronger fighters themselves. She has also started up a "brightening up the streets" project where she paints a new mural every last day of the month randomly in the city to show that life does indeed go on...
Q: It sounds like the two ladies have been keeping themselves very busy in this time span, one last question: how do you foresee these two handling the new situation. Vaan, the Arbiter, and the messages from Sora?
A: Aqua has been jump started and she feels its her duty to do as instructed by Sora. She veiws Vaan as someone she should be caring deeply for, but refuses to allow him to enter her heart in fear of loosing another person. This won't stop her from protecting him though. As for the Arbiter, she's weary, not quite sure what to make of it... All she knows is so far he seems to be the bad guy. In the long run though Aqua will try to stay on her toes and trusting mainly instinct to guide her.
Namine is... and most likely will continue to be... pissed. She can't wait to beat the living daylights out of the Arbiter. And Sora? Don't get her started! She's honestly is only in this because Vaan needs her to be, she'll do anything to prove that she's a good person and if that means helping someone she considers too adorable to be a part of this mess then so be it! But when push comes to shove I'm sure Namine will gather a cool head and at least get the chance to yell at Sora like she's itching to do, actually that's her main goal right now, find Sora and give him the loudest talking to he's ever received...
Q: I am sure that'll happen! Those two never had the best of friendship. Before we conclude this interview are there any passing comments or things you want everyone to know?
A: Hmmm... Yes, I would like to say that Kiara won't be joining in this lovely plottie due to personal reasons. (Saving a mate takes a lot of work ya know!)
Q: I'm sure everyone will miss the little demon kitten meowling around.

"And with that, concludes our interview with Wresie. Do you have any comments? Thoughts? Post them below and stay tuned for more updates to plotlines."
