(So do I. I just imagine that it does.)
Shiki looked in the mirror, pleased with the reflection. It really did look nice. "Looks like you've got some good observation skills." She said with a smile. She unclasped the necklace and checked the price tag. It had been marked down several times, each number being crossed out with a red marker and a new one written under it. The current price she could afford; she just promised herself no more "wants" for the month.
"I think I'll buy it."

"Alright," Aqua says brightly. "Hey... After this... Can I treat you to lunch?" She's going out on a limb, but Shiki seems so nice and somehow, troubled. She would like to get to know her better if possible. And food always seemed to put her boys in a good mood, so it could work.

Shiki thought over Aqua's offer. She wasn't one to have people spend money on her. But the way Aqua asked, it sounded like she really wanted to. "Alright, that sounds...nice." She smiled at her and said, "Be right back." Shiki went and paid for her necklace, putting it back on as soon as it was hers. The box was small and fit easily inside her pocket. She then went back to Aqua. "Okay, where to?"

"Well," Aqua leads Shiki out. "What kind of foods do you like? Almost any type is on this street."

"Hmm..." She looked around at the places that lined the street. "Honestly, it's been a long time since I've gone out to eat like this." Shiki continued to search until she had an idea. "I know. Why don't you surprise me?"

"Alright, follow me," Aqua leads Shiki to the right from the store and down the street a couple blocks. She then has them cross the street and leads them into a resteraunt with what looks like Chinese on the front. When they enter it takes a moment for a waitress to get to them, but she's smiling as she does.
"A table for two?"

Shiki nodded and the waitress led them to a table in the back. She sits down and then opens a menu the waitress had given to each of them. As she's looking over the menu, she decides on one of the chicken choices and asks for water. She places it down and waits for Aqua.
(I've never eaten Chinese before, so sorry if that sounded weird.)

((that's okay ^____^ and its not weird... It was just what I was craving at the time ^^' ))
Ordering as well, Aqua gets a veggie and seafood mix with white rice instead of fried. She also orders a green tea pot. The waitress tell them it will be a few minutes, picks up their menus, before heading off to fill their order.
Aqua smiles to Shiki, "So...? I run an online crafts store." She starts off, trying to brake the uncomfortable silence.

"Oh that's cool. What kind of crafts?" Shiki asked curiously. There was something about Aqua that she couldn't place. Something about the kindness she had been showing to her. The word she wanted to use though, she couldn't remember. What was it?

Aqua shrugs and says, "A little bit of it all... I especially like carving and painting though..." She's silent a moment before. "Do you have any big hobbies yourself?" For she had turned her hobby into a job.

"You must have talent." She replied. At Aqua's question, she stopped to think. "I'm not sure if you'd call it a hobby, but I like antique things like this." She fingered the gem that hung around her neck. "I like older things; they interest me." Her mind was still searching for the right description. Then suddenly the word was found.
Motherly
Behind the happy expression she was wearing, Shiki saw herself smiling bitterly. It's been a long time since I've used that word.

"Well, you sure are good at spotting treasures..." Aqua says kindly as the waitress returns with their drinks, saying their food will be a few more minutes.
Aqua watches Shiki a moment, something seemed to change in her, "Are you alright?"

"Huh?" Shiki asked, caught off guard. "Oh, I'm fine. Just thinking about something." She sipped her water, debating on asking Aqua a question. Finally she gave in and asked Aqua, "Do you happen to have any children?" She had to know if this was a true look of a mother, or just her imagination.

"Well, yes," She says softly as she pours tea for herself into a small tea cup. "Twin boys actually... Why do you ask?" She sets the pot down and picks up her cup to blow at it.

"The way you've been looking at me...not many people have the same glint in their eyes when they talk to me. It just seemed so motherly, I didn't think it was coincidence." Shiki stared down at her hands, and then shrugged. "Not that I know many people with kids anyway."
