Sipping at her tea and listening to Shiki, Aqua has to smile sadly. The way the girl talks to her... Its as if its reluctant. So she reaches a crossed the table and puts an hand on Shiki's shoulder, "I understand... I haven't run into many mothers in a while either... But you don't have to say anything that hurts, y'know." Blue eyes search for Shiki's wanting to hold their gaze and fill the girl with warmth. Because, as a mother, that's the kind of person Aqua is.

At Aqua's hand on her shoulder, Shiki met her eyes. The expression she wore was hard to read, it was mixed with confusion and debate. Part of her wanted to spill everything to Aqua. Could she help her make sense of things? But she realized that not everything could be spoken; she wasn't ready to talk about it. She looked into Aqua's eyes; wondering what she would think of her after she learned more about her.
Before she could change her mind, Shiki spoke, "I'm...on very bad terms with my parents. I ran away a long time ago after learning some things that...didn't go well with me."

Aqua is shocked at first, she barely knew Shiki and yet the girl trusted her enough to tell her something like this. But then comes the pained expression, she can understand running away from parents. Well, she thinks she can... Didn't I once have a friend with her situation? Making sure her slight confusion doesn't show, Aqua's hand goes down to Shiki's hand and she squeezes it lightly, "I'm so sorry... Do you... Feel like talking about it?" She doesn't mean to press, she's just worried about the girl, now more than it was just her expression showing her troubles.

With her free hand, Shiki began to twirl a piece of hair around her finger. She didn't know what there was to talk about; or at least what she could say. She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know, anything you want to know?"

"What hap...?" Aqua frowns at herself and shakes her head before pulling her hand away. "I'm sorry for being nosy... But do you have a place to stay? Is there anyway I can help?" The blue haired female doesn't want to push Shiki away after a confession like that, but she's not sure how to address the situation. Something that she never thought would happen to her regarding her mothering side.
But before Shiki can respond, the waitress returns with their food and sets down their meals. Lets them know that she's sorry for the wait and then slips off to the next table.

Shiki felt a spark of sadness as Aqua pulled her hand away. The feeling of Aqua's motherly touch was foreign, but it brought her comfort she hadn't felt in a long time. "No, it's okay. I...thanks for asking." She replied after the waitress had gone. "I have an apartment not far from here. I just moved to Urbadelphia for..." She trailed off, not sure how to explain. "Buisness reasons." Shiki finished. It probably wasn't that much of a convincing answer, but she couldn't give everything away.

"Business reasons?" Aqua repeats and nods, deciding to not press any further. She had already learned a lot about Shiki, things that just looking at the other you couldn't tell. "I'm glad your able to take care of yourself... But if you ever... Want help, I'll be there." Blue eyes smile to Shiki as the woman pulls a pen out of her pocket and writes her number down on her napkin.
"Please take this," She offers the napkin to Shiki. "I want to help you in any way I can." And its not just because of her motherly traits, this is also because she feels a connection with Shiki. One that feels at least bone deep.

Shiki took the napkin and looked down at it before looking back at Aqua. She smiled and said, "I will. Thank you." Then she took the napkin and folded it, and placed it in her pocket. She tried a piece of her food, her eyes lighting up at the taste. "It's really good."

Smiling and giving a little laugh Aqua says warmly, "Good to hear." Then she begins to eat her food. Having to place the rice and seafood onto the same plate in the amounts she wishes to eat for the moment. And spooning the mixture carefully to her mouth. After a few bites she swallows and asks. "What are you up to after this?"

Shiki swallowed her food and replied, "Nothing really. Probably just heading home; I don't have anything to do." She thought over the events from earlier and remembered what Aqua had said. She said she was doing 'hobby shopping'. Shiki looked at Aqua, worried. "Did I interrupt your shopping earlier? You said you were doing se hobby shopping."

Aqua thinks a moment before shaking her head, "No... My boys are old enough now that if I come home a few minutes late they'll be fine... Besides... This is nice." She takes a few more bits and soon has to repeat what she did earlier by moving more of her food. As she does this she adds, "Also I rarely get to be around another females, so, this a rarity that is nice." I hope we can be friends.

She nods, relieved that she hasn't ruined anything. Shiki couldn't help but laugh at the last comment. "Boys, they drive you crazy." She continued to eat her food, in a very good mood now. She was so glad to have met Aqua. It's different to be around a mother. One like her at least. I guess it's not so bad. She hid her smile behind her napkin.

"Yes they do," Aqua agrees as she finishes up her food. She's a little worried still, but knows better than to push someone. So she just waits for Shiki to finish while drinking her tea. "Do you want some?"

Shiki soon finished eating and shook her head at Aqua's offer. "No thank you." She smiled politely and then took one last sip of her water. "I think I'm finished. Thanks for this."

"You're welcome," Aqua replies softly as she flags down their waitress and pays for their meals. She stands as well and thinks a slight moment before holding her hand out for Shiki to shake. "Until next time then?"
