MORE FLUFF!
Shizaqua this time! I don't think this is as long as my Ritami fluff... But I don't care, because this is sweet as hell! And it's Shizaqua
Enjoy guys!
Shizuo lay in bed with one arm behind his head, and the other outstretched under the neck of the figure sleeping next to him, spread-eagle, occupying the
majority of his king size bed. The blonde stared up at the roof as another snore permeated through the room, coming from his sleeping companion, Shizuo couldn't help but give a small smirk.
Kasuka had been forced to move out of Shizuo's room (where he had a small bed of his own) and onto a camp bed in the dining room/living room. Shizuo had offered Aqua the bigger bed to herself, but after a few hours in bed, he'd rolled over in a half-sleeping state to find the bluenette lazily crawling in next to him. Ever since, they'd shared the larger bed between them, which was good, Shizuo probably would have struggled to sleep in a smaller space with his girlfriend, who took up so much despite her small frame.
Still, he couldn't complain... They'd been together so long, it wasn't like he could get annoyed at her sleeping habits. Especially considering how much longer Shizuo wanted to spend with Aqua... He reached out to his bedside table and pulled off an ornate lockbox that rarely saw any use. The key was already in the lock, and the halfer turned it tentatively before lifting up the lid and propping it up on a small leg attached to the box, all awkwardly with one hand. He let out a small sigh as he placed the box against his bare stomach, running a single finger along the contents of the box. A small, sad frown spread across his face as he looked down at what was hidden within, before he gazed across at Aqua who snored gently, but with volume, and his frown suddenly changed to a smile as he looked back at the contents of the box.
As he looked back at the two plain golden bands, attached by a chain.
The last belongings of his parents that Shizuo had left, remained in this tiny little box. A pinch of ashes from both his parents cremations had been added to the rings under a second, thin layer of gold at Shizuo's request. His fathers ashes in his mothers ring, and his mothers ashes in his fathers ring. That way they could always be together, even in death. Shizuo looked down at Aqua and smiled again, before speaking aloud. Confident that his lovers snores would drown out his words anyway.
"If only they could see me now, my parents... If only they could see you, us. See how much I've grown up. If only I could ask them for advice now about what to do, what to say... How do I go about this, really? What can I say that means more than 'I love you'? Not much I suppose... Still, that's not quite true, I know exactly what it is that I can say. I'm just having trouble saying it. I mean, the possibilities are... Uneasy. There's only one positive response, but then so many negatives, so many bad things that you could say that could destroy my heart, and leave me in pieces. Hmph. I'm supposed to be the strongest guy in town, the toughest demon hunter here, and yet the one thing that scares me is your answer to five simple words..."
He closed the box, locking it again before placing it on the side, slotting it behind a picture of him, Aqua, Sini and a reluctant Dori. He smiled softly at the picture as it caught his eye, it was scary to think that he had an almost proper family now... Almost proper...
He turned back to Aqua, who had folded up into a ball as he had been thinking to himself. Placing his free arm around her waist, he kissed her bare shoulder, before he nuzzled into the back of her neck. Fitting his body against hers, a smile still painted on his face as he whispered.
Aqua, will you marry me..?"
She shuffled.
Shizuo froze.
His eyes widened.
Had she heard him?
She rolled over, Shizuo gulping as she did so, expecting her to stare at him once she was facing him. When she did turn over, her eyes were still closed and another small snore escaped from her mouth, a genuine one, not one easily faked. He relaxed as she wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled herself into his torso, pressing her blue hair under his jaw she mumbled something in her sleep.
"... I love you too, Shizuo..."
Another loud snore escaped from Aqua before she fell silent, for the first time since they had started going out, she slept without snoring. He smiled as he pulled her closer, savouring the warmth of her skin, and closing his eyes. For a moment, he simply admired the contours of her back, placing a small kiss on the top of her head. She was his Sleeping Beauty, maybe not now, but perhaps later he could wake her with a kiss... Perhaps breakfast too if she didn't start snoring again. He drifted off towards sleep as he thought on his own words, he knew them, they should be easy to say.
