I posted a quick review on the video page, but I will do a better more in-depth one here.
Angel Project, is it created for Sin or Success? by Michael Fri
When I heard a voice over project was going to be done, I paid attention to the project and waited with anxious attention. Though when I heard it went from a full length voice project to a trailer I began to have doubts, trouble was brewing. Now the project is fully released and I find myself satisfied, yet at the same time underwhelmed.
The project starts off well, solid lead in from Adam Steinborn (Spider-Man 2099, Sora) that flows into a well played line from Miri Raider (Black Cat 2099, Kairi). So far so good, then we hear Avidity's first line and those doubts resurfaced again. Wresie (Yuffie Kisaragi) attempted to play Avi with a malice worthy of a temptress...but somehow forgot to take herself off fast forward mode. She spoke the line with such a speed that -to me- took away the impact of the line. The next line from Miri was good but felt a little understated, I felt worried that line would get lost in the sea of other sounds. However my doubts erased once Wresie did her next line, she put herself on Normal speed and delivered the line with the malice and tempo the first line should have been given. Adam Steinborn had only one more line after, but that was well performed: he was a perfect fit for the character. Miri did decent as well, if understated at times, Wresie was good but she needs to find a certain tempo and commit to it.
Editing process was well done but could have been better, the music was dramatic enough but it also worked against everyone - the music was louder than the speaking volume which made the lines hard to hear. The music should have been either lowered, the voice bits boosted, or a combination of both. When the voice actors were NOT speaking, the music played a dramatic purpose, the clips were well chosen enough and the representatives fit their roles well. However, I noticed a bunch of text based lines with no voice attached, that I felt was a mistake. Now maybe if Avidity was silent, like Roxas in the beginning of KH2, I would let it slide - but all characters were fully voiced. In my opinion ALL lines should have had voice actors or no actors period, having a text based non-speaking line in the middle of a full voiced area is a proverbial speed bump in it.
To finalize myself, the project was well created, the actors and actresses fit their parts -albeit a flaw or two- and the music scored everything along. In the end though I was left feeling underwhelmed, the project was missing a since of...excitement, I was not excited by the end of the project - I ENJOYED it, but I was not excited. My final score is 3 out of 5 points, which is a very modest score for a modest project.

Dear Reporter,
I expected no more than what you gave me in your critique. Although I must state, in the most formal and poised of responses, that my mixing of the audio was the best I can do. And I already know that, due to my class being a sound class, what was done will lower my grade and the performance given. I understand that the lines weren't very audible, but this was due to lowering the music too much distorted it and raising the voice overs caused them to make the mixer go in red, an automatic "F" if I did so. So I had to chose. Not understandable and lowered grade or red levels and fail my class. I chose to pass, naturally.
But as I said before, I didn't expect any higher praise from you. And I thank you for taking your time to both watching my project and setting aside time to review it. I feel both honored and pumped. I want my next project to surpass your judgement, not just graze a crossed your senses. My goal is to blow you outta the water!
Sincerely,
W.R.E.S.I.E.
