If blood could run cold while still being alive... Mine turned to ice. And I drop all emotions as I say, "Its a pleasure, Boss." I take a bow and walk back next to Shiki, though I'm closed off from her a bit too... She knew as well... This fucking sucks.

"I can't sit around for two and a half hours! Especially when I have no idea what's going on!" Shiki responded. Then Lea blew it, and Neku gave him the I'm-going-to-kill-you look. "Nice going, Lea." She said to him and then listened to Neku. "Weird, I don't remember you being so formal when I found out." She shrugged and then placed a hand on Namine's shoulder, an attempt to have her calm down. "Er, sorry for not telling you. It wasn't my position."

"Hello, Neku," Aqua says kinder though she's worried as to why the blond seems to have gone into ice land. "Always good to meet a fellow Otherborn... Especailly one in command." She smiles warmly as she enters the room more fully.
"Thanks for the message Shiki." Blue eyes notices as the blond gets ridged and looks to her feet. Which furthers to confuse her, but the mother decides put all her attention on Neku and Lea. They seem to be the thrower of this sha-bang after all.

I frown at Shiki and then say, "So... Did you know about him being the Head then?" Stopping to think a moment and hearing what Aqua said I add. "Are you his Contact?"

I sighed, plopping down in the chair at the hed of the center table. It was a little bit fancier than the others; Lea jokingly called it my 'throne'. I massaged my temples, feeling the start of a headache forewarn me that this?
Was going to be a looong afternoon.
"I'm usually not so formal," I said. "Lea just won't ever let me be about it, so when I have to act like a leader, I generally start to talk like one."
Looking at Namine, I nodded. "Yeah, she's a Contact. So's Lea, or he would be, if he ever let me promote him."
"Nuh-uh," Lea said, chuckling. "Then you'd just use me to do all your dirty work and you'd never get the chance to be the great leader we all just know you are."
He gave me one of those grins that made me want to sock him. I resisted the urge.
"It's not like I'm really anyone special," I protested. "I still have no clue why Mr. H wanted to put me in charge."

She removed her hand from Namine's shoulder; the girl wasn't going to be happy with her news. "Yes and yes," she answered with a sheepish laugh. "I was going to tell you what I was eventually."
At Aqua, she shifted her weight, remembering the hospital conversation. "Hi."
She walked over and patted Neku's shoulder, "Relax okay? They were going to find out soon enough. Don't stress about it."

"She's right, sir," I respond softly as I head over to the table and place my hands down on it. "Its not like we're gonna bit your head off or something." Well maybe the or something.
"Oh, that reminds me," The blue haired lady says even lower than I did. "My name is Aqua for all who didn't know." And remember how I said my blood is ice now? Well said ice comes a rushing back to my head and my eyes widen.
Its her.

Shiki saw Namine's look, and acted. "Namine." She said, a slight warning tone in her voice. She shook her head as if to say "now is not the time". She glanced over at Sora, then turned back to the blonde.

I groaned mentally.
Was she going to keep calling me 'sir', now? As some kind of twisted revenge? Somehow... I could see it. Still, gotta be fair.
"Please, it's just Neku," I said. "Anyway, let's wait to see who else shows up." I could see some of Veil's regulars come filtering in, probably called by their own respective Contacts, text messaging others that they knew of. Most of them wouldn't say much; the energy in this town's died down quite a bit.

Sora's eyes widened at Namine's sudden rigidness, he was about to say something when Aqua spoke. Though not quite sure what they were being all nervous about Sora shifted his weight around.
"Hey, skip all the spiel, what the hell's going on?"

"Speaking of that," She lowered her voice for Neku to hear while pulling out her phone to Noctis's message, "Noctis won't be coming." She showed him the message; she was worried. "I'll talk to him later."

I entered the Veil looking for a good drink and maybe talk to Lea seeing as I did say I'd drop by. Quite unfortunate timing on my part. The large group instantly caught my eye. I tried to walk past the group unseen and sat down at a booth in the corner. Maybe I'll be lucky enough not to be seen.

"Sorry," I mouth and then go silent as everyone seems to be waiting for someone to spill. Something to happen. Oh and I'm ignoring Aqua for now. She's not on my list of things to worry about at the time being... Hopefully Angel won't show up though.

Lea noticed Aya come sit down in one fo the booths near the entrance to the back room; he stood, walkin out to where she sat.
"Hey, Aya," he said. "Something important's come up, and the Watchers have called a meeting. I think you should be here for this; I'll get you in, don't worry."

I looked around; most people were here now. Good. I cleared my throat, stood.
"It looks like most of you've gathered early," I said, and the murmuring stopped.
"Some of you," I glanced at Namine, Sora, and Aqua, then out to where Lea stood with Aya, "aren't in the Network, while some of you are new and don't know the meaning of the message that was sent out."
I sighed, placing my hands on the table.
"For those of you who don't, Code Beta means an immediate threat to this city, and every Otherborn who lives there."
