Shiki sat at a table in Veil, thinking and trying to act like normal. She hadn't been to this place in a while, and it made her feel safe in it's walls; sort of like nothing could harm her here. No one came up to her, except a waiter that brought her a soda.
She traced the rim of her glass and stared down into her drink. Neku's advice had helped her, but she still wasn't sure what she was going to do.

Sora had actually been hanging outside the Veil for awhile, just...watching her sit there. Sip her drink, stare off in the distance, lost in thought. He didn't want to break her trance, how she would take the news anyway he almost did not want to know. He sighed and stepped in from the bitter cold, walking into the bar and absorbing the heat in the barroom. Silently walking to the barstool next to her and sat down.

She heard movement next to her and blinked, turning to see who it was. Her eyes slightly widened in surprise. "Sora?" Shiki looked at him, "What are you...you've found something, haven't you?"

He didn't answer her right away, he let the silence stew for a moment before he spoke.
"I did find your uncle...in the car garage across from where you live. I confronted him for answers, while he was painfully vague he did confirm what I suspected: it's not slavery he wants from you."
He decided to leave out the part that he was gonna kill him so he would not longer bother her.

Shiki paled at hearing where her uncle had been. The garage right across from her? She walked by it all the time. Who knows how long he's been there. She kept her voice even, no need to freak out right now. "What does he want from me?"

Sora paused, "That's the part we didn't get an answer from in time...he slipped away before I could get that answer. I put beads on him though, if he appears again I'll know and be there to stop him."

"Oh..." She stared off in front of her, thinking about what he said. Hold on a second. She turned back to him with a confused expression, "Wait what do you mean by 'we'?"

"I had some assistance, they don't totally know what you told me." he said, "the demon said your name, I think one of them knows what's going on, the other not so much."
He sighed, "Sorry, I needed back up...had your uncle not spilled they would have been none the wiser."

She shook her head, "It's fine. As long as no one got hurt, then I don't care what they heard."
"Did he...mention anything about my parents?" Shiki's curiosity took hold of her. As much as she didn't want to know, she wanted to at the same time.

Sora looked at her, wanting to keep eye contact as he spoke these crucial words to her. "Shiki...your parents were manipulated by him, he played off their fears and convinced them to shelter you. The things your parents did were his machinations."

"Their fears of what, me? They still hated didn't want me, they still made a deal with him." She stared back at him, her expression hard. They never cared.

"Whatever his way is..." Shiki looked down at her hands, "When you find him...I want to be there. As stupid as it may sound, I'm not sitting back and letting everyone else do this for me."

He paused, "You okay? I noticed you look rather spacy..."
