"Have it your way Lea. I just wanted to see what was going on." Riku said as he opened a dark portal and left. ((So, SORRY! I didn't see any names so I thought it was open! I feel so ashamed! Please forgive me. ))

(It's alright Riku, it was an honest mistake. The more you know, right?)

(Don't worry about it, my bad for forgetting to put names in the title.)
I stayed quiet until I heard Riku leave. The second the footsteps faded, I began to explain. "Alright, I went to Izaya for information on Vakarian. I know it's a dumb move, don't lecture me. Anyways I went and found out that the information would be free due to someone taking on the debt. This person would be him." I nodded over at Noctis and took a breath to calm myself down.
"Anyways, I took on a debt as well for me to find out it was Noctis. Again, I know dumb move. So anyways I came here, freaked out on him, he got after me. That's what you saw and now we are here." I moved around where I sat and tried to get comfortable figuring I'd be here for a while.

Lea put his head in one hand, trying to stop the ache that was growing.
"You dealt with that particular devil? Are you both nuts?!" He sighed, a sigh that came out more of a growl. "What did you pay? I'm guessing that neither of you were able to pay his fees in cash."

Noctis sat down in one of the armchairs in the room as Lea took in the news that both he and Aya had dealt with Izaya before asking what they had paid. Noctis rubbed the back of his neck, wondering how to phrase this. "I'm putting my abilities to use for him until the debt is paid and I'm guessing that Aya's just doing favours." He said, not sure how much use Izaya would have for Aya's particular ability.

"Lea, I've already acknowledged that it was a dumb idea but we can't change it now. What's done is done and trying to change it next to impossible." The air seemed heavier somehow, worse then before. "Anyways, I'm going to be doing a few jobs for him but after three months, I'm let go. I'm sure Noctis is let go after a bit to, right?" I couldn't think of a reason why Noctis wouldn't give a dead line unless he forgot to add it in.
"There isn't a point making a fuss about it anyways so let's drop it alright."

"Besides, this way we can hopefully work together and help the other get out unscathed." Noctis said as he went to close and lock the door before returning to the couch, sitting on the arm of the piece of furniture. "It's not like it's permanent."

He growled deep in his throat.
"You two... did.... WHAT?!" he shouted, slamming his hands down on Noctis' living room table. "'Not permanent'? 'It'll be fine'? You two don't have any IDEA who the hell you're dealing with!" He glared at Aya. "At least you made sure to give him a time limit - but don't you realize that he could technically call you up every day and ask you to do anything each and every day, and until he says your debt is paid, you'll have to take it?"
Sparks erupted into the air from around him, and his pupils were near-indiscernible slits. He whirled on Noctis.
"And you! First of all, that wasn't your goddamn deal to make! If anything, I should've been the one to make that deal!" Not caring what that might sound like, he continued, the sparks erupting into little flickers of orange light before disappearing. "And you didn't even bother to put a goddamn time limit on Izaya's deal! YOU ARE BOTH GODDAMN IDIOTS!"
He yelled that last part at the top of his lungs, and the air around him burst into flame. Realizing what was happening, he whirled around, facing away from Aya and Noctis as he screwed his eyes shut and fought a battle with his temper. The flames licked the air impressively, receding and flaring up again as Lea kept at it. Finaly, they disappeared, leaving nothing more than a coat of settled soot on the table, and a scorch mark on the ceiling where one of the gouts of flame had risen too high.

Noctis watched with wide eyes, having never seen Lea so angry before. Granted, he supposed that they both deserved it considering who they had made a deal with. However when Lea said that it was himself who should have made the deal, Noctis wasn't entirely pleased. The beginnings of anger causing red to once again tint his blue eyes. "I would prefer it if you didn't burn down my apartment." He said, his voice level but clearly holding an edge of irritation.

"Could we just calm the fuck down?!" I yelled. "First off, no, if he honors his deals then he can't call me for anything that suits his fancy, I put a limit on how much I'd do. And secondly, it's done!" Did no one understand that? I ran my fingers through my hair and paced around the room.
"Look, it's not like this deal is gonna make us bad people, right? He can't have that strong of an influence on us. It's impossible unless he's some kind of incubus or whatever the hell you want to call them." I continued to pace and tried to catch hold of some thought that would help calm the situation down. The anger and yelling was upsetting, maybe even terrifying.

Lea didn't turn back around; he knew that if he did so, he'd probably do something he'd regret.
"Listen," he grated out, "I'm trying not to burn your apartment down. I live in this building too, you know, and homelessness is not a fun experience - just try asking Neku about that sometime."
There. THere was a safer subject, but Aya was continuing.
"It's not like this deal is gonna make us bad people..."
He clenched his fists tighter, his claws prickling the skin of his palm. "You have no idea what that man is capable of," he grated out. "He gets in your mind, twists everything around - values, beliefs. It doesn't take a demon's power to turn someone inside out if you have the right words, and Izaya's got those words."
He felt himself shaking; he'd seen the things that Izaya and those like him could do, seen the harm that the right words could bring when they came from the mouths of the wrong people.
He'd even experienced hem himself.

Noctis narrowed his eyes at Lea's tone, did Lea think that Noctis had never gone without a roof over his head in the entire year he'd been on the run? He attributed it to the tense situation they were currently in but still couldn't help how it grated against his nerves. However he continued listening even as his desire to flee via the fire escape gradually grew. "You sound like you've had first hand experience."

This is turning into a mess... "Look, whatever let's drop it!" I knew they wouldn't listen but whatever, may as well try again. I was trying to keep my voice calm, steady but it slipped here and there.
"We can't change it, we can't march in there and say 'oh nevermind'. There isn't a point arguing this so could you two calm."

He whirled on Aya, grabbing her by the arm.
"NO, Aya!" he shouted. "I will NOT calm down! Not before you understand. It may be too late to change it now, but you should never have had to make that bargain, do you hear me?!"
His claws had unsheathed slightly; they pricked her arm, not enough to do damage, but likely uncomfortable. For a moment, he stared deep into her eyes, his own eyes fully demonic, pupils just black lines in the center of a slightly-glowing blue-green pool.
"Noctis is right. I do have experience - firsthand." His grip tightened, but then he let go, sinking back into the wall, eyes clenched shut, fists clenched, one braced against his forehead, as if he were trying to banish the memories forever.
"My.... my own Father... he..."
He clenched his fists tighter, ignoring the pain as his claws drew blood.
"He was like Izaya. No.... he was worse."
"Can you do it, Axel? Can you... make your father proud of you?"
"They're all like that. Spin their web of lies, round and round until you don't know up from down. When you're in that place, all you can do is please the Master, because they all have you convinced that you're worthless without them. And then... and then he came, said he would help. Take me away from that awful place and all I had to do was one simple favor."
One favor.
One thing.
"And I believed it, Aya, believed that a man who tortured and beat us wold let me in, would love me and care for me, because, dammit, he was my FATHER!" His words were a scream of pain, agony, and betrayal.
"He... he ordered me to kill someone. And I would have. I would have done it, Aya. Because of the words. Because of the lies. Anything, everything, to feel wanted again."
He turned, slammed a fist into the wall.
"I would've done it except that the person he ordered me to kill was the only person in the whole world who had ever been nice to me. I would have killed hundreds, thousands, slaughtered them in cold blood and fire. And..."
"It will be easy for you, Axel. Easy for my son."
"....it would have been... easy... because anything I could do for him would have been easy. We hated them and feared them but we loved them, too, because they were the only people, the only families, we'd ever known and they twisted our hearts and minds and souls until we broke in half and weren't even people anymore, but dogs and slaves. And we didn't care."
---
Flight. Fight or flight, and this was flight, running, running, hurry scurry away from the Doctor and the tables with their needles and knives...
----
No. He pulled in a shuddering breath; he wouldn't let himself go back there.
He still had the nightmares, still had the scars.
"I can't let you go there, Aya. I can't let you go to that place so deep that you will do anything at all because you're simply a thing to be played with. That's a place that you can never escape, never, and I can't have you travel there, no matter how far along the road you are already... I could see it in you but I could tell that you weren't there yet, that there was a chance to turn back... I still can't pull myself out of that dark pit in the depths of my soul..."
Tears streamed down his cheeks, and as he had ranted, he'd slid down the wall to his knees. Noctis didn't exist for him anymore, there was only the two of them there, broken, scarred Axel and the woman who didn't have to be that way.

There were no words that I could say. At the beginning I was going to yell at him, tell him to unhand me but I couldn't say anything. Even after his confession, there was nothing.
I tried to convince myself that he didn't know anything about me but he saw right through me and my mask.
"Lea..." I took a few steps forward and thought on how to piece this broken man together again. I couldn't think of anything but either way, I sat down by him and rubbed one of his shoulders. The silence settled in, not awkward, just depressing, lonely. There was no other way to describe it.
