Roxas raised an eyebrow at the flame haired halfer's claws and nodded at his mention of not having any tattoos, making note of the reverse-tear drops as he did so. So that was what he meant, most Halfer's took on the human gene in appearance it seemed, but in Lea's case he'd taken on some of the appearance of his more bestial parent. All the same, he could see why Neku had told him of racism against Halfers.
"Yeah..." he said with a nod "Although I'm not going to lie, you look like the sort of person to have a tattoo!" he gave him a grin as he took another drink.

He removed his hands from the table and got back to doing minor tasks behind the counter with them. He paused for a moment, then laughed. "You're not the first person to say that, I can tell you now," he admitted, grinning. "Don't tell anyone, but there's a pair of horns hiding in my hair, too." He cracked his neck. Admittedly, it felt good to be able to talk to someone about it. It had been a while since he really had a friend he could sit down and talk with, someone who would understand.
His thoughts flashed to Aya, but he shook his head slightly. He had better things to do than be oing over that particular puzzle again.

"Huh... So I guess that's why you have so much of the stuff!" he said motioning to the extreme amount of hair that he had on top of his head. He would happily admit that he was having to learn a lot in a very short amount of time, but all the same he was happy to have someone who does not only know what he is but has suffered everything that he feared he would. He felt somewhat safe knowing that people so well experienced and yet not bitter existed.
It was also a bonus that he served drinks.

It wasn't time for the meeting yet, but we were all here. I was pretty sure that the blonde talking to Lea up front was Sairen, and so I pulled my headphones back over my ears, stood up, cracked my neck, and made sure to look like I'd just come in the door before walking up to the counter.
"Hey there," I said to Lea, before turning to the blonde. "Hey. Are you Sairen?" I asked him. "I'm Neku."

Roxas was smiling already when Neku approached, but even though he knew he should be suspicious, he wasn't. Something about this guys nature, he could just tell that he was one of the good guys, besides he was confident in his own abilities so he didn't see the need to worry about anything.
"So, I finally get to meet Head_Phones huh?" he said with a grin before looking at his watch "You're early!"

I chuckled as I watched Lea's eyebrow attempt to touch his hairline. Earlier than the poor sop realizes, I heard, and had to momentarily fight a rush of nervousness. I dislike my new ability, especially since I've had zero luck controlling it.
"Yeah," I said, "that's me." I looked at Lea. "You two look like you're getting along well."

Roxas couldn't help but let off a soft laugh "What can I say?" he said motioning to Lea "The guy's got a like-able air about him, at least in my eyes." he turned his gaze onto Neku and rested an elbow against the bar "But yeah, what happens now?"

I smiled, and waved in the direction of the Veil's back room.
"Now, Lea gets off shift and tags one of the poor suckers who's being a no-good lazy jerk at the other end of the bar to take over for him, and we go into the back room and I answer all of your questions for real, plus some you probably didn't realize you had." I looked at Lea. "Isn't that exactly how you said it last time?"
He grinned. "Word for word."

Roxas nodded before motioning towards the back room "Lead the way..." he said with a grin at the two's interaction, he got the feeling this wasn't the first time that they had done this...

I did, going into the empty room and pulling up a couple of chairs around a table. I liked to do things in an up-front-and-personal matter when talking to new 'recruits', and this time, I wasn't operating on a rush, like I'd been with that... Oilcan guy.
"So, come on and sit down..." I paused. If I could get my mind reading to work when I wanted it to, I could just open Sairen's mind and look for his name, but I couldn't, so I sighed. "I'm suddenly realizing I forgot to ask you your real name," I admitted sheepishly. Lea rolled his eyes; I shot him an almost-covert glare.

Roxas took a seat and grinned at Neku's question, fair enough, he had to admit he hadn't offered his name either, but it didn't mean he wasn't willing to give it. "Roxas..." he said with a smile "Don't ask about last names either, last time I checked I don't remember having one..." he crossed his arms against his chest and looked across at what he believed to be the Watcher. Well, that's what he wanted them to believe.
"Okay..." he said "First question." he shot a glance over at Neku "Who are you really?" He asked, narrowing his eyes "You're not just one of the officers here are you? You were here about fifteen minutes before I was and you only approached after so much time, you're friendly and approachable, but you're in charge here, I can tell. You have the air about you and you don't want it..."
"Well done Roxas..." The voice hissed in his ear.
"You're getting better..."

My eyebrow twitched, and Lea burst out into full-fledged, honest-to-god laughter. Then again... as annoying as it was that Roxas had seen through my act in about five seconds flat, it was at least good to hear Lea laughing again after having to deal with Ifrit.
I sighed.
"Well, Boss," and I gave Lea another glare, "it looks like the kid caught you this time."
I twitched. "Lea, I'm pretty sure he's not any younger than you are." Which was awkward, because I was younger than Lea. This was embarrassing.
"Look," I said, returning my attention to Roxas, "I could probably lie to you and say that you're mistaken. I could tell you that the Watchers are the leaders of the Network, and that even though I was 'just a Watcher', as you said, I'd still outrank Lea and be in charge, in charge enough to warrant an elected position that's pretty much the highest rank we've got besides Head. And other than the part about me being the same as any other Watcher, I wouldn't really be lying."
I sighed again.
"But I hate lying, especially since it sets a bad example in an organization that's supposed to trust me. When the truth came out, there would be hard feelings. I don't go around parading my position, I make it a point to speak in third person as often as possible, but I don't lie about it if someone legitimately figures it out." I shrugged. "YOu're right. I'm in charge around here. Not just around here, either. I'm the Head Watcher of Urbadelphia... and, by default, that means I'm the man behind the curtain for the entire Network. Urbadelphia is Oz, and I"m the Wizard." I gave a sardonic smirk. "You're also right about me not exactly wanting the position. Still, I do the best I can with what I have... and right now, as I'm sure Lea already told you, what I have pretty much comes down to 'me' at the moment. So, I've got a question for you."
I leveled my gaze on him.
"What is that voice that just spoke to you?"

Roxas' smirk dropped from his face. How could he possibly have known about that? He hadn't mentioned that to Lea or anyone not even in the Chatrooms had he brought that up for fear of just being called a troll and not taken seriously. He was suspicious now, but not scared, he knew just what the voice was capable of and whilst it struck him with fear at points he knew it could keep him safe in a dangerous situation. But he was rushing ahead of himself, he needed to keep on with what was happening now and not what might be happening in the near future.
"Want the honest answer..?" he said as he sat back in his chair, narrowing his eyes even further at Neku before opening them properly and gazing across at Lea before back to Neku.
"I don't have a clue."
He paused for a moment, letting the message sink in and thinking back on what Neku had said, as he'd assumed he was top dog around here but also like he'd guessed, he didn't want the position. Not Roxas' problem in his eyes, he had enough battling back an inner demon to worry about how much the head guy wanted to give his orders.
"Don't get me wrong!" he said sitting forwards, resting his arms against his knees "I'm not denying it exists, it does, I hear it all the time. But I couldn't tell you exactly what it is." he shrugged "I reckon it's something to do with my halfer blood... But let me tell you something that I do know..." he lowered his voice for extra effect.
"He's one evil son of a bitch."

He was tough, I'd give him that, but I wondered if he were afraid of what was inside him. It wasn't exactly uncommon, for Halfers to have that kind of problem, but usually, the issue wasn't so definite as a voice or personality - that wasn't to say it didn't ever happen, and I nodded.
"If you're interested," I offered, "I have a minor telepathic ability; when it said what it did, I could hear it." I paused. "I can't control it very well, though, so don't worry about having your mind read on purpose." I sighed. "SInce it's pretty obvious you're in control, I'm not going to say or do anything unless it directly poses a threat."
I let the indirect threat hang; I am perfectly capable of being an incredibly not-nice person when the mood takes me, and I wanted Roxas - and whatever it was inside him - to understand that. I also, however, didn't want to scare away the new member.
"But, it won't come to that," I said, lightening up a bit. Lea let out an unconscious breath, I noticed; he'd been worried. "You know why? Because the Network exists specifically to help people like you out. You, and Otherborn, and anyone else who comes to us. One of the things we can teach is control, which is important; we serve several other functions as well." I leaned back in my chair. "So, now that we're back on topic, what do you want to know?"

"Ooh... A brave one..." Ave hissed "Let me taste his blood... Or at least touch it! Either will settle me fine..."
Roxas ignored the voice and instead flashed Neku a smile "I suppose as long as you guys can handle whatever it is I throw at you if the worst comes to happen, I have no problem with being here! I just don't think I'd be able to handle thinking that I'd inadvertently hurt or killed anyone!" he scratched the back of his head nervously.
"As for questions... I suppose I have a couple, first and foremost, what do I do about living space while I'm here? I mean, I have a bit of money and stuff obviously, I just wondered if you could point me in the right direction!" he scratched his chin as he tried to think of any more questions that he might have "Oh! And one more thing, I guess! If the worst does happen.." his gaze dropped down to the floor "You won't take anything said to heart will you...? I mean, I barely know you, but he will... He knows everyone."
