I had managed to get away from Angel.
Darla had helped me run before fleeing herself. When he gets into one of his fits, nothing can stop him. He's a demon lusting for blood and agony, typically mine.
I had been so glad when my cousin came racing up the stairs and aimed a good one with a frying pan to the back of Angel's head. My arms and legs had been bound at the time and my clothes are ripped where his nails -he used them as claws- had dug into my flesh. But not as deeply as the knife had.
I can feel my body about ready to give out.
It was so tired and so jello like. I can't feel his anger anymore though, he must of just collapsed into a fit of humanity saving tears.
...My poor Angel...
OW!
My footsteps wrong and I fall with a small shriek. Face planting I groan and glare at the dirt path.
I need to keep moving, I need to lead the demon away from this city. I need to... I need to... I need... I...
"...Namine."
I don't know how long I had been laying there, snow had started falling and I know this looks bad. Warmer arms pick me up and I feel myself floating.
"Hold on, hon... Almost home."
A sweet, sweet voice whispers into my ear and soon I felt the cold disappear from around me. Now its just inside me. Did my body suck in the cold? No... That's stupid.
Then warmth is wrapped around me and next to me. I hear someone swear, over and over again. Its that same honey sweet voice.
Then something warm is at my lips, "You need to drink it hon... Just drink it." It ends up happening and I don't chock on it at all. I can feel myself unfreezing now.
"Namine... Can you hear me?" Something bright in my eyes, then darkness, then bright again. "Good... You blinked."
Even though I blinked and warmth has returned to my body. I still can't seem to regain the ability to move yet. So I attempt to wiggle and then fall over. I hear a soft sound leave me, an almost ack! sound.
And I smile.
Its not that I can't move, I just have a blanket wrapped tightly around me.
I look around, eyes now focusing on my surrounding. Its a cozy little place I like it, I wonder how far from the--
I groan when I see who must of rescued me.

Namine groans and Aqua frowns, ''Are you still in pain? I healed you up the best I could and that drink should help replenish the blood you've lost."
Namine just shakes her head and looks away, "This isn't right."
Aqua sighs and gets down in front of Namine. One of her hands resting on her shoulder, "Namine... Tell me... Was it Angel?"
The look on the blond's face was more than enough to answer. Aqua found herself gritting her teeth, but Namine shakes her head no, "Wait listen! I let you talk... Its my turn."
Aqua blinks and then nods, ''Alright... I'm listening.''
Namine took a deep breath and then spilled everything. Aqua found her heart breaking for the girl as she hears it all, from the day she met Angel up until she escaped just today. The mother frowns.
"I'm going to kill him," Her eyes are dangerously dark. But Namine wiggles her way out of her banket and grasps Aqua's shoulders.
Her head is shaking no, "No, no! Please! I still... Ilovehimstill!" Her shout catches Aqua off gaurd. But then mother nods.
"Alright... But he needs to be taught a lesson... I'll call Shiki."
"Shiki?! Wh-WHY? She could get--" Namine is silences by Aqua's loving smile.
"She's coming over to watch you dear... Now you should rest a little bit, I'm sure you're exhausted and now that you're warmer its safe to sleep," She waits until Namine closes her eyes and is breathing deeply before walking into the kitchen and pulling out her cell phone. She then calls Shiki and waits her to pick up.

Shiki had been just about to go to bed when her phone rang. She walked from her room to where she'd left it on the coffee table. Who was calling her at this time? She looked down at the caller ID.Aqua? Her eyebrows raised and then she picked up her cell and answered, "Hey, Aqua. What's up?"

"I know its late, Shiki," Aqua says softly and trying to not wake the blond up. "But can I ask you to do some babysitting for me tonight? It'll be really easy I swear." She doesn't mention that her boys aren't home yet, but she's sure Shiki can guess that.

"Yeah sure thing." Her kids aren't home yet are they? Shiki was pretty sure that they weren't. Then who was it she wanted her to watch? "Can I ask who it is?"

Aqua looks over her shoulder at the blond and realizes she can't hide it any longer, "...Namine... Something happened to her and I need you to keep an eye on her while I check out what."

Shiki gripped her phone. Namine... She knew she wasn't alright! Why hadn't she done more earlier? "I'm coming. What's your address?" As she talked she was throwing on her shoes and a jacket, no time to change into better clothes; a T-shirt and pants would have to do. She grabbed her keys and out the door before she heard Aqua's answer.

"I live on the outskirts of the city... Down the second dirt path that branches to your right... I don't know my address actually," She whispers the last part to herself. "Thank you, Shiki... I'll have cocoa waiting for you when you get here." With that she hangs up to allow Shiki the ability to get there as quickly as possible.
She sighs to herself and looks to the sleeping form of Namine. Its shivering and she knows that's not from the cold, "What nightmares does she have?" Worse than mine, I fear.

She nodded to herself and put her phone in her pocket. Shiki felt confident she could find her way there. Too bad she didn't drive, but that wouldn't be a problem. She walked out of the apartment complex.
Then she started to run.
If anyone saw her too bad, she wasn't stopping. She'd gotten used to running, it didn't bother her...most of the time. At the moment it didn't at all. Her focus was on Namine and getting to Aqua's place.
In a rather quick time she was at Aqua's door step, panting and knocking on her door.

Aqua opened the door with a raised brow, "Shiki!" She leads the girl inside and gives her a set next to Namine's feet. The mother had been trying to soothe the nightmares away from the blond while waiting.
The kettle whistles a moment later and Aqua smiles to Shiki, "I'll set you two up for the night and then I'll be going, okay?"

Shiki sat down and nodded, not saying anything. Namine... Her eyes were set on the blond and she sighed, shaking her head. What had happened? Where was Aqua going? The stories were connected, that she was sure of. She waited until the mother came back and then asked, "Aqua...where are you going? If you're putting yourself in danger it's going to be really difficult for me to sit here knowing that."

"Trust me Shiki... If he's determined you'll get a piece of him too..." Aqua frowns and looks to the ground, throwing cautions to the winds. "Shiki... I'm going to check out her house. Maybe collect some of her stuff and then get the heck out of there, I promise."
She walks over and knelt before Shiki, "But no matter what I will come back... This so called Angel needs another ass whooping and I'm going to serve it to him, alright?" She takes Shiki by the shoulders. "But Namine needs you here now... She... You're her only friend she can turn to in a situation like this... I'm the only adult she can ask for help... So, please, don't argue with me and allow me the right to leave."

For a long moment she said nothing, staring into Aqua's eyes with something that was hard to read. Maybe it's because her own thoughts were flying at the same time. Finally she spoke, "Alright. But if you don't...I'm coming after you. I did promise your kids to keep you safe. I'll stay though, I'll watch her." She wasn't sure what was going on...but she'd be there if Namine needed her.

Aqua smiles to Shiki and reaches caress her cheek, "Thank you." My sweet daughter she adds silently as she stands and head for the door. She crings as she hears Namine thrash a moment before settling back down. "...Oh and she keeps having nightmares." Then she walks out in silence, ready to summon her sword and beat the living crap out of Angel.

When Aqua left she moved closer to Namine. She found her hand and held it, hoping not to wake her but at least bring her some sort of comfort. "It's alright," She whispered quietly, "Everything will be okay..." I hope so at least.
