It had been a few days since Noctis had gone to the bar and he'd been laying low in his rundown little apartment, only venturing out to get groceries or do the odd job for the most part. He had to make sure that he hadn't been tracked to the city before he could really get out and about, unless he was called in of course. It wasn't exactly wise to be out in the middle of the night, especially in this part of town but luckily Noctis had his weapon with him this time. The sword hung in a sheath on his back, its pommel sticking up over his right shoulder. He hadn't used it in a few months so it had required quite a bit of maintenance to get back into working condition, but now it was as good as new.
Noctis was glancing around the backstreet, his eyes trained on any spot that someone might pop out of. Some people might call him overly cautious but he preferred that over the alternative, especially considering that he was an Otherborn. His hand went to his jacket pocket, quickly checking again to make sure that his cellphone was there. If something happened he wanted to be sure that he could be reached or that he could reach his Contact.

I was running through different thoughts in my head. I was debating heading back to the bar, or doing something but nothing really seemed to appeal. I sighed deeply and leaned up against a wall. Nothing interesting at all came to thought and I decided to give up, go home and watch tv when I noticed someone wearing nothing but black.
He looked familiar but I just couldn't figure out how he did. Perhaps he lives in the same apartment block or perhaps we have a mutual friend, I then remembered I don't exactly have friends so much as acquaintances. He looked lost to me though, so I decided to go over to him. Rare I know, but if he was lost I may as well point him in the right direction. I walked over to him and asked "Are you lost?" He definitely looked familiar from what I can pull from him though, where have I seen him?

The sound of someone approaching from up ahead quickly drew Noctis's attention and his hand shot to the pommel of his sword in preparation to draw the weapon just in case this approaching person didn't have friendly intentions. His gloved hand tightened on the handle as he watched for the figure, a woman judging by her silhouette against the lights farther up the backstreet. When she finally stepped into the light Noctis let go of the pommel but didn't relax entirely, he had never met this woman after all and it would be foolish to let down his guard. Though she did seem vaguely familiar, likely someone he'd seen in my peripheral vision. Noctis began to walk forward again, intending to pass by her when she asked if he was lost. He looked towards her out of the corner of his dark blue eyes, contemplating whether or not to answer. "No, just out for a walk." He replied simply since he was not one for long and overly complicated answers when nothing more needed to be said.

At first I was wondering if he was only saying this out of some foolish male pride but I figured I'd let it go, until I realized I'd be walking the same way anyhow. "Well, I'm heading that way as well so..." I started to walk a little behind him and looked at the not so favorable environment I found myself in. although I'm sure if anything were to happen, we'd both be able to defend ourselves. What's the worst thing that could happen?

Noctis briefly glanced over his shoulder at Aya as she spoke before simply turning his eyes ahead and continuing to walk. However, as if Aya's own thoughts had summoned it, Noctis did not go more than a dozen steps before the world began to shift before their eyes with familiar things turning into the stuff of nightmares. Noctis's hand quickly came back up to the pommel before he looked back at Aya. "Please tell me you have a weapon." He said to her, his eyes searching her face to see how she was taking all this. For all he knew, she was a normal person.

Not a crossing, I hate crossings with every fibre of my being. "I have two guns. How well can you fight with that thing?" I nodded over to the sword while pulling the guns from their holsters. The world around us was a distorted form of what it use to be. All I could think of was that I didn't want to get dragged through to the otherside.

I was just putting some finishing touches on a 'masterpiece' when the gang found me.
Usually, I'd have kicked their asses, but sometimes, even for someone like me, a retreat is in order in the face of superior numbers. I sprayed some spraypaint into the leader's face, 'threw' the bottle at his second's head, and ran like a scared little girl.
I didn't realize until too late that my last step sent me into the area of effect of a Crossing.
"Oh, shit," I said with feeling.

Noctis took a couple of steps back to stand next to Aya, his hand gripping the pommel tightly as the world around them continued to shift and distort. "Pretty well." He replied, he would have to be skilled with it to have gone this long on the run. He looked around to the entry point where the demons would come through and caught sight of Neku out of the corner of his peripheral vision.

Is it dangerous to take a walk at night? Yes. Is it even more dangerous to go alone? Yes it is. Are these things that Shiki thought of? No. She'd been too anxious for sleep, and without thinking about where she was going, she started walking. Her actions ended up brining her to the back roads, which she'd heard where referred to as the "Labyrinth" by most. It was just her luck too, that she got trapped in a Crossing.
"Of course." Shiki muttered to herself. She ran around a corner and made out two-scratch that now three figures. She got close enough to recognize who they were. Noctis, Neku, and the girl she'd seen at the Veil a few nights back.
"Nice to see some familiar faces."

"Alright great, then we don't have to worry to much." I looked around and turned my back to this stranger and noticed that Neku boy running over here. "Hey kiddo, I hope you can fight!" I yelled at him while I quickly double checked to see if both guns were loaded. Now is not the time to take things slowly. I heard a noise of to my side and aimed only to see a girl with red hair. "Be careful unless you want to get shot." I might've been harsh there, at the moment I didn't care. All I wanted was to get this over with.
Only a moment later did I hear the demons and began shooting. Moments like these made me wish I had something a bit more offensive then just healing people. It would make fighting so much easier.

A discarded pipe lifted itself into the air, glowing with the same fire that now surrounded my body.
"That answer your question?" I ased as I grabbed it out of the air.
I can use my force slashes to fight enemies, but sometimes, a weapon just works so much better.

Noctis quickly removed his sword from its sheath, turning to face the demons just as Shiki arrived. He gave her a quick nod of greeting before rushing towards the demons, careful to stay out of Ada's way as he slashed at them with his weapon while doing his best to dodge and block the returning attacks.

"I'll keep that in mind." she responded to the girl. She didn't have a weapon, but she'd have to make do. Shiki spread her hands apart and let fire become a long stream between them. With it she created a make-shift staff, and gripped it just enough so it wouldn't fall out of her grasp. It would take some extra concentration to keep the weapon more or less solid, but it was all she had.
With a quick look at her enemies, she charged in.

I continued to shoot, but more kept on appearing. I tried to keep my back against anything, a wall, trash bin, anything would do so long as I wouldn't be taken by surprise but whenever the demons got to close I obviously had to move and I guess they probably had an idea of what I was trying to do. Not all demons are idiots unfortunately.

Noctis glanced towards Aya as he dodged what would've been a particularly nasty blow. Aya seemed to be backing up, looking all around for something to put her back to. He quickly killed the demon he'd been facing off against and darted towards Aya, placing his back to hers and holding his sword in a blocking position. "You don't happen to have an extra gun, do you?" He asked as he swung at whatever demon came in range and careful not to move from his spot at Aya's back.
