Curiosity Meets Wanderer (N/Yeul)

[Yeul]

Yeul walked through the Labyrinth, rubbing her eyes tiredly. It was a little early to be up, yes, but she couldn't fall back asleep. And even though she tried not to use this part of the city for multiple reasons, she did anyway because it was either learn it or get lost when you need to know where you're going. And truly right now she was. "I knew I shouldn't have come back here..." Yeul mumbled to herself.

I knew I shouldn't have been wandering. Kiara and Zatch would get worried. Maybe even Sebastian. I didn't know much about him yet, but he seemed to be looking out for me. It was dusk. Not quite day, but night was almost done. I thought it would be a good idea to explore the city. But that was clearly a bad idea. Everyone had always guided me everywhere since my entry into civilization. And where I was now had a bad chill to it. Rats littered the streets, looking for food. I happened to notice a particularly small one trying to nibble at a wilting plant of some sort.
"You poor dear... Do you want some help?"
Please, sir. I'm just looking for something to get me by.
I smile at the small animal. "Okay.. Just a moment."

I channel the energy I was now used to. I extend my now-glowing hand, and feel the energy channel out to the plant. It erected itself to a healthy state, and began flourishing into a hearty tomato vine.
Bless you, sir! The rat hops onto my crouched knees happily, then he and a few others begin their feast.

I smile once more and give a hard yawn. "If only I knew the way back... Kiara is bound to get worried about me..."

[Yeul]

She rounded a corner and stopped upon noticing a boy crouched down and talking to a rat. Now compared to the demons she'd grown up with, rats were adorable. They got a bad reputation here though. Apparently this boy thought different and her eyes widened as he made a plant appear. She could sense his power, he must have been an Otherborn.

And although she wanted to say hello, her shyness got in the way. Deciding not to bother him she took a step back, only to find her foot landing on a piece of litter and making a loud crunching sound.

[N]

As I stand and stretch, I hear a noise behind me, like a crunch. I turn around slowly, not sure what to expect. But it was just a... girl. A girl. I was given a lengthy talk about gender differences recently... It was all so strange to me. And I had begun conquering some of this shyness. I had to watch out for "shady" characters, but she seemed like me. Just lost... "Um... Hello..." I say, a bit shyly. I grab my arm, but try and make eye contact.

[Yeul]

Yeul stood still, trying to get up the nerve to actually say something. After a moment she whispered, "Hi..." Her gaze fell to the ground, she was a little embarrassed for making the noise. But she drove up the courage to raise her head and aak quietly, "What are you uh, doing here so early?"

[N]

I gaze around the girl, and approach her a little bit. She was so tense... Was I like this as well? "I couldn't sleep tonight... I decided to go walking. But I'm still new, so I'm a little lost." I give a nervous laugh, and remove my hat to scratch my head. "This whole 'civilization' thing is pretty weird, huh?" I put my hat back on, making sure my hair wasn't over my eyes, and that the hat was centered over my forehead.

[Yeul]

With him seeming to be just as nervous as her, Yeul tried for a small smile. "It takes some getting used to." She hadn't been nearly as comfortable on Earth before as she was now. "But it's worth getting to know."

[N]

I give her a warm smile. She was trying... So obviously shy, but she was trying.. "Yes. I agree. I've made some very good friends since coming here." Kiara. Zatch. Sebastian... "I'm sure you have friends, right?" People tended to gravitate towards pretty people. And she was a pretty woman.

[Yeul]

"Friends?" The question caught her off guard. Yeul stared at the boy for a moment before slowly shaking her head. Sure she's met some nice people but an actual friend? She wasn't really one to jump out and search for one. "No, I don't..."

[N]

I raise an eyebrow. Maybe she was just like me... "That's... unacceptable!" My face was that of an upset child's. "I'll be your new friend, then! How does that sound?" I stick out my hand. Another "handshake." It was one thing I'd come to like about civilization. "Please, call me N."

[Yeul]

She'd blinked at his sudden declaration and she looked down at his hand as he held it out to her. Then carefully she took it, nodding in agreement, "That sounds nice. It's great to meet you, N. I'm Yeul."

A new friend, Yeul? This is surprising.

It is indeed, Master.

[N]

I laugh lightly, and shake the small, soft hand. "It's an absolute pleasure, Yeul-san." I take back my hand and lead her over to the tomato brush. I call once more upon the energy inside of me to grow a single, golden daisy. It was in full bloom. I pick it and hand it to her. "A token of our new friendship." Another new friend... Every time, it made my stomach flutter around. Happy. Interaction with other people... How did I ever manage without it?

[Yeul]

Her eyes brightened at the daisy. She loved flowers, they were beautiful, delicate things. When she first came here, they were what captivated her the most. "Thank you. That's very sweet for you to do." Yeul took the flower and gingerly tucked it in her hair, the gold standing out against her silver hair. "I wish I had something for you."

[N]

I smile with a light laugh. "That's the beauty of friendship, Yeul. Friends can give to their friends, and not expect anything in return." I take her lightly by the wrist. "Come on. Want to just wander until we're out of this place? It could kill some of these twilight hours..."

[Yeul]

Yeul smiled, happy that everything was getting off to a good start. Who knew making a friend could be this easy? Maybe it just took the right person. "Sure, that sounds nice." She pointed down one way, "Want to start there?"
