Aqua just smiles as she leans into Shizuo's embrace, "I do miss you." But that's not what I was thinking. "Oh?" She glances to the other bluenette again before frowning.
"My mother is a brunette," She then watches as Namine stands, feeling ice emitting from her. The mother frowns... Something is wrong.

"I'd gathered..." He said, dragging his gaze from the suspicious Destani, before noticing Namine. He couldn't place it, but something felt off about her and it put Shizuo at ill ease... He cautiously moved round Aqua so he was half stood in front of her. His right hand still touching her left, as if he didn't want to break the contact. He narrowed his eyes at Namine.
"Hey!" He called "Blondie! What's up with you..? You sound like walking hypothermia."

Josh and Sophie were busy talking amongst themselves about what Sophie had seen. She had never experienced anything like it before, and even though it wasn't much, she could barely remember what exactly had happened. Josh tried to think of anyone he knew that was semi-short slender, but no one came to mind. It was a mystery to them both.
Something in Sophie's mind was telling her that someone was missing from the group, and faintly remembered someone being asked to leave. She started for the door.
"Where are you going," Josh, most obviously, asked.
"I'm going outside for a minute. I'll be back in."
"O--kay." Josh was a little hesitant letting Sophie go outside by herself, but he trusted she'd be okay. (Though, of course, there was something in him saying to go with her.)

Ashe said to Lea, "I swear to you, I-look if you scroll down there are many posts about that event with that psychotic killer Hei Nerr-" Vaan was about to interrupt her when a new update appeared on the site, it was a video attachment - but it's uploader was one who caught Vaan's attention. Sora Shimomura. (End: Wide Awake - THEME OF ASHE) "Sora!" Vaan gasped out, Ashe -though not knowing who Sora was- walked to his side out of curiosity. Vaan touched the attachment on the page - loading the video. Once it was finished the video showed the following... It was a black room, little lighting and a single chair in front of the camera. Sound of shuffling and Sora walked to the chair, sitting down in it - the light that was there showed blood, bruises, and his clothes torn.
"This is to the bastards who claim they are a part of the Network, I am aware of your little game. I have been tracking you for nearly six months, I have been watching every move you made. I am sure you're feeling very cocky right now, you got me in a corner now and you're closing in. But I have a new weapon on the field now, his name is Vaan. Vaan Shepard."Vaan gasped at the mentioning of his name. "He is coming and he will pick up where I left off...because if anyone is viewing this message now, it means...it means I am dead.""I Owe Him""No!" Vaan yelled. "I am leaving this video because I need everyone, every Otherborn who is a member of the Network, to know that we cannot forget the skin that binds us - we are human in soul, we are not a race separate from everyone we are not higher in power. We cannot forget who we once thought to be and who we sometimes wish to be, don't be easily swayed by words of finding you place and Manifest Destiny shit." We hear banging at the door, large roars follow in suit, Sora sighs. "So damn soon...Neku, if you see this - you need to get some money and make your way to Washington DC, because in about five days from when this video is scheduled to upload something bad is going to happen...something we can't control and it will make the Network look bad, very bad. You need to get to DC and make sure the Network lasts a bit longer."
He stood up, shakily, and looked at the camera. "...Shiki. If I get out of this, I am going to find you - I will ride up to your house, you'll think you're dreaming at first but then you'll see me and you'll run outside. You'll be crying, angry, but crying - it'll take awhile for the shock to settle in. But after that, I will take you away...somewhere where only you and I can be, just for awhile...and I am going to make that time be the most important night of you life."
The roaring grew louder, smoke began to grow around Sora's head. "I love you Shiki, I-"
The doors burst open and the camera fell, there was the sound of the Ghost Rider (which Vaan would not know as him) roaring and battle occurring - then the camera shuts off."SORA!" Vaan yelled. |

"Wait," Lea said, running to catch up with her. "Aqua, can you take care of Neku?" he called, before catching the rest of the way up with Namine. "Let me come with you. Don't know when those wackos are going to show up again; Neku wouldn't forgive me if you got hurt on my watch. And if I'm around, as far as he's concerned, you're on my watch."
Truth be told, he wanted ot know what was going on with her, and with Neku. Something had happened between them.

He smiled at her. "Think of me as your bodyguard, right? Assigned to you by our benevolent Head Watcher, Neku." His smile turned into a grin. "If it makes you feel better. If it doesn't, well, you can think of me as just a friend keeping you from getting attacked by a bunch of psychotic creeps."

The sight of Sora, beat up as hell, made her gasp. But as soon as he said those words, that was when everything hit her.
"...it means I am dead."
She couldn't breathe, couldn't comprehend anyone else around her. All she could hear, think, understand were Sora's words and her own thoughts. No! You're lying! You can't be...! DAMMIT!!! Tears formed in her eyes as he said everything that he would do. She shook her head, hands over her mouth, her body shaking. You can't do this! You can't be gone! Say that you're not, please!
The camera shut off and the scream she didn't realize had been rising in her throat came free, "NO!!!!"
Anger. Pain. It over took her mind. All that she had been holding back, the emotions that had been taunting her for months now, the ones she'd kept in check, flooded her mind. Everything around her went black, she could hear the voice, feel the evil whisper.
"He's gone. You're unprotected. He's not coming back. Come on, Shiki. Give in. Let Sin win his game."
Her soul screamed for light, she struggled to focus. This was what it took to lose? Emotions? She fought through the dark feeling, forced herself back into reality, shoved the feeling back to where it came from. "One day...one day...it will be soon..."
Reality returned. She felt her hands covering her face, feeling the tears fall behind them. She forced everything down, to breathe and focus. When finally she had herself sure, she removed them. Eyes, showing an anger she never showed to anyone, blazed like her abilities. She didn't talk, was afraid of what would come out of her mouth at the moment.

And then his expression turned knowing. "I also know when there's something up with you and the Boss. What's going on?"

Vaan turned, the moment he saw Shiki break down in front of him the gravity of the situation hit him. He went back to that video and checked it out in bigger detail, looked for any identifying clues - places - something that would alert him to show the exact opposite.
Then his phone bleeped as a text popped up.
"Don't let her cry Vaan."
Vaan raised an eyebrow for a moment as another text appeared.
"I am relying on you to keep her safe till you guys find me."
"Wait..." Vaan spoke slowly.
"I leave everything to you Vaan. You're going to be the one to do it, come in sword in hand and put things right, so many people will now depend on you - myself too.
Tell Shiki I love her, okay?"
Vaan's lips broke out to a smile, he rushed to Shiki, gently nudging her shoulder and holding the texts in front of her.
"Shiki! Look! It's him!"

Aqua frowns before leaving Neku's side and going to Shiki, wrapping an arm around her, "Shiki." She rubs her back soothingly.

She started speaking, her voice heavy with rage, "Don't play jokes on me Va-!" Shiki looked at the messages, eyes widening. He's serious! Anger dulling down and being replaced by excitement. Though she still muttered, "Quit telling me that like this and say it to my face you idiot. And stop telling people to protect me, I'll be fine." And then louder she stated, "You can bet your sorry ass I'm gonna find you!"
Then she raised her eyes to Vaan and gave him a hard look, "I guess you really are the key to all this then." She leaned against Aqua, wiped remaining tears from her eyes. She had to be strong now, but she did want support from the mother, no her mother.
