Josh was shocked when the orb came over to him and spoke directly to him, but he "kept his cool" and listened. Maybe it--or whatever it was-- was right. It took Sophie strenuous effort to concentrate on one thing; it would be too much for one person--thing--to concentrate on every island.
One at a time would have to work.
"You have a plan," Josh heard Vaan ask, but as he was readying to reply, a semi-heavy wind rushed over them in the direction Vaan motioned.
Sophie had pulled through with summoning the wind, now they just needed to see if the second part prevailed.
"Well, the only plan I have is to get everyone back together. Being split up like this isn't going to end up good for anybody. After that, I say we start heading in the direction of the tower."

I nodded to Vaan, then slashed into the demon Aqua had left her sword in, freeing it from the thing's flesh just enough for me to pull it out with a sharp mental tug, throwing it back towards Aqua as I sliced open another one.
"Dammit, someone needs to get these things some clothes," I grumbled.

Shizuo at first didn't even acknowledge the huge demon, he was more annoyed at the fact that he'd been partnered up with his nemesis. "Now you listen here, Orihara!" He growled as he poked the demon in the chest with his forefinger. "This thing's pretty big, but I've beaten bigger. So you just stay right out of my way, and let me handle this." He frowned. "If anyone's gonna' crush you, Flea, it's gonna' be me!" As if on cue, the huge demon brought it's fist down towards them.
It pounded against the ground before shaking slightly, with a huge roar, Shizuo stood back up to his full height, the demons fist held between his hands as with another growl, he pulled with all of his might, flipping the demon over his shoulder and slamming it into the ground with a huge earth-shaking 'thud'. The Halfer's gold-flecked eyes glinted as he sprinted towards the demon, grabbing a lamp post in his fists as he went, wrenching it from the ground. Leaping high into the air, he came back down with a roar, as he prepared to slam the post into the demons face.

Vaan nodded to Josh in agreement, "Hear hear on that."
Vaan was going to turn to run across the bridge leading to Shiki and Riku...when several demons leaped from the sea onto the bridge and in their path.
"Perfect," Vaan grumbled, "wish I could pick them off from here..."
The rings are the Arms began to turn and Vaan's broadsword was replaced with...a rifle, an old rifle, like a smaller musket with ornate details on it.
"A rifle? I mean, firepower is good but I wouldn't have any ammo for this thing-" as he said that, red lights came out of all the slain demons and flew into the bullet chamber of his rifle. On the side of the gun a red meter appeared once all that energy was absorbed, Vaan looked at it and hesitantly aimed it at one of the demons on the bridge. He pulled the trigger and fired, a red compacted fireball shot out and blasted a demon apart on contact. Vaan looked at the rifle and grinned, this would hold them off for a bit.
"Anybody got a plan on charging through?" he asked the group, shooting at what demons he could hit. "cause this rifle's good but if more arrive then this baby can't handle them!"
With her sword back thanks to Neku, Aqua lets out a sigh of relief and then hears what Vaan says. She walks up next to him and mutters softly, "Darkness and light work as one for they bring upon water like crashing pain." Her focus sharpening as memories flood back to her, she knows how to fight, her body knows what to do, she just needs to trust it.
Throwing her weapon in the air she summons a new one, this one feels much more solid in her hands, this weapon is made for fighting, the other for play. A dark smile plays on her lips a moment before emotions boil through her veins, "The next time he shoo- Now!"
Her body dashes forward and follows the bullet sent, knowing Vaan won't be aiming for the same demon twice, she using its burning body as a spring board and vaults into the air, slicing vertically at the demon behind it. She then twists and lands in the middle of them.
Despite the fact she knows she's slower than Namine, she also knows she's ten times stronger than the blond. Her hits do damage.
She turns her back to where Vaan is shooting from, knowing less will be there and begins her calm, yet deadly assault on the demons, "Take it from me, the only place to be. Is in your personal hell, with someone you know well. Grab a partner and flee, before you get cut down by me." Her words leaving her mouth in a loud whisper, only those with REALLY DAMN good hearing would hear it. But even so, her words give her strength, give her confidence to keep fighting, to keep gasping onto her memories.
I watch my partner change her weapon to that of a sword.
She then begins trying to whack the demons back to where they came from.
The blond girl slips a bit and I grab onto her.
Her eyes are closed and her chest is moving up and down slowly...
Did she seriously just pass out?
Giving her a quick shake, I confirm she has...
((A/N: Nami is still tired from previous battles, she didn't get any sleep between the two plot threads because she wanted to be ready... her body finally caught up with her mind...))

Vaan had stopped firing as Aqua began cutting down her enemies, noticing a change in the mindset of the woman the rifle vanished as he replaced it with the twin axes. He then ran forward and struck as many demons as he could, but he didn't stand in one spot: he attacked and he ran. Making his way across the bridge where Riku and Shiki were.
Aqua cuts down one demon then another, her movements fluid and in a chain of attacks, her chanting soft to herself as she does. She sees Vaan rush past her and then looks back to see how every one else is fairing. But her mind snaps back to focus as her back is raked and pain spikes. She slashes at the demon, her healing powers stopping her pain for the moment being... She plans to follow Vaan as soon a she's through with these little embodiments... Revenge... Is that what she wants?

Shizuo slams into the large demon with the sound of a heavy squelch as the lamp post breaks through it's skin and sends oddly coloured blood soaring in every direction. The halfers shoulders heaved up and down as he turned around, lamp post still in hand and tossed it forwards with a roar. The large metal rod flew behind Aqua and took out a demon on her rear flank, the Halfer then solemnly nods towards his girlfriend, giving her a small thumbs up, before turning his attention to the large demon, which still appeared to be alive.
Aqua nods back, slicing through one last demon, only two remain. She looks ahead to see what Shiki, Riku, and Vaan are up to as she attacks the remaining.
Shiki battled the demons coming at her, glancing up when she could to see what was going on. She growled as one landed a hit to her shoulder, making her lose her balance and stumble backwards. Annoyance and anger filled her, "Back off!" Lashing out her hand she sent a whipping length of fire at the demons coming near her. Then she saw Vaan coming towards her and Riku, "Nice of you to join us."

Vaan brought his twin axes on the shoulders of two attacking demons and did indeed join Shiki.
"Glad to see you too!" he nodded in agreement, spinning the axes in his hand. "We got to regroup and go, the more time we waste here the more the Arbiter has."
"Well then," Shiki destroyed another demon with a ball of flames, "Any way you can get another bridge to appear? Or do you have something else in mind?" She looked over her shoulder at Vaan.

Izaya laughed, watching Shizuo handle their demon quite efficiently, but shook his head.
"Now, now, Shichan, brute force isn't always the answer..."
A slice appeared, as if out of nowhere, across the demon's eye closest to Izaya's position. A small blade landed at Shizuo's feet as the demon howled in pain.
"One more to go," he murmured with obvious pleasure, bouncing to the top of the demon's head, then somersaulting downwards, a thin, cutting, metallic sound ringing through the air as more oddly-colored blood spurted from alien vessels, and Izaya landed next to his first blade, reclaiming it as the other he'd produced from his sleeve slid back into place.
"And that makes... two," he said, the shadows swarming around him as he winked at Shizuo. "See what I mean, Shichan? This Lesser certainly does... or doesn't, as that may... whoah!" He laughed as he leaped over its next strike, swung blind as it howled in pain.

"I think our friend can make the next bridge appear, right?" Vaan looked over to the floating light, which was strangely entranced by Shiki. "Hey!"
The light shifted slightly to look at Vaan, "Hm? Yes, right, another one."
The floating light -reluctantly- moved away from Shiki to the edge of the pillar, rumbling occurred...but nothing happened.
"Hey, what's going on?!" Vaan asked.
"Too dangerous, the large demons will destroy the bridge before we can even cross it."
"So what we leave those two to die?!" Vaan roared.
"No. We're just going to take an alternate route." the floating light explained, more rumbling happened and large circular mounds of earth began to float in the air - making a sort of large stairway up in the air above the platform with the last two. "Kill the large demons in one shot, or we may never get another one."
