Get a girl's hopes up? About what?
I noticed her glancing at the clock.
"It's getting late," I said, echoing her statement. "I... I guess I should go... I just, I can't.... can't stand to leave you alone like this."
With him.
I felt it start to open its eye again, and I squashed it. It would take a few days before it finally settled back down, that rage.

"Angel... Angel will only be angrier if you don't though..." I frown to myself. "I can't let him in if you're here... He'll... Hurt you."

"Come with me," I said.
Where did that come from?!
But.... I had to continue.
"Tell Angel you had to go out. Come home with me. Spend the night."

"That's even worse than staying here, Neku!" I can't let Angel get it into his head that... That he could do anything to harm... The people I love. "If he loses it while I'm not around... He may get it in his mind to go after you, or Shiki, or even that bitch...!" My voice is frantic and scared, I would love to go with Neku, but... What if... He did something when I couldn't stop him?

I closed my eyes, clenched my fist. I was backed into a corner.
"Alright," I said, "I'll go. But, Nami... if he ever touches you... if you ever need to get away.... call me, alright? You don't even have to call. My apartment's your apartment."

I nod slowly, forcing myself to become calm, stay calm, "Th...Thanks... Could you leave the door unlocked on your way out?"

I stepped back.
"Y...yeah. I will."
I turned, walked out of the room, back down the stairs and to the door. I woulnd't say goodbye; I couldn't turn back to do it. If I turned around now, I'd never leave - and if I saw Angel again before I'd taken care of the rage, something incredibly regrettable would happen, I just knew it.
I stopped as I opned the door, looked back up the stairs.
Then I sighed, turned around, and stepped back out, shutting it behind me, leavig it unlocked as promised. It was raining; that was fine with me. I slpped my 'phones back into place and let the rain mix with the music as I trudged back to my car.
