I wasn't all that worried; we got odd types all the time, and Lea would keep on eye on the newcomer. If he was a troublemaker, Lea would take care of it - and there were a ton of Otherborn also here that would help. Veil's always been close to us.

From the safety of her black sedan, a woman with long red braided hair used her thermal scope to see inside the bar. Scope in one hand, phone in the other.
"Yes...yes Ms. Brea is in the bar now. No...too many Otherborn, all it takes is one paranoid person and a wrong comment to start a nasty fight. I'll wait till she leaves the bar then confront her...yes, understood."
She hung up the phone and continued to watch patiently.

He gave Aya a strange look; she was about as normal as he was, but he culdn't tell in what way.
Right now, though, he had more important things to deal with. Like the newcomer in wierd clothes and carrying a freaking cleaver-sword.
He walked over, crossed his arms, glared at the new guy. "I don't know who you are, but at the moment, you are in my territory. THus, before you come any further, I need to go over some simple rules.
"One. You will not make trouble. Two. You will not bother the patrons. Three. You will leave that thing where I can see it at all times. We don't ask your backstory here at Veil, but you can't just go around doing what you please."

I watched the red haired man walk away to this new patron. He seemed very strange and that knife of his couldn't draw any more attention unless there was a siren attached to it. All the same though, I looked down at the napkin in front of me and started to draw a quick sketch. The red haired man and the new guy weren't my concern.
I took a final look around and tried to call over a waiter. I really wanted another drink.

"Thanks." Shiki said and took a sip of her drink. It was pretty good, different to her.
She saw Lea walk over to a girl sitting by herself, and the red head realized she just noticed the girl. By the way she acted, Shiki knew she wanted to be left alone. That was fine with her.
Then came the dude with the sword. You had to be blind not to realize the weapon, and Lea went to work laying down the rules. It must not have been that big of a deal, Neku wasn't fretting about it. She took another look at the guy and then shrugged, turning back to her drink.

*opens his eyes and frowns*
The partionaionar of this establishment had apparently spotted him, she had such a low spiritual pressure it was a surprise that she could even see him at all. She did not look happy at all and was coming his way. She then sternly went over the rules with him.
"Don't worry about me you have bigger issues on your hands. If you'd exuse me, I have important things to do."
*stands up and leaves the bar without continuing the conversation*
It was obvious I was drawing to much attention, and had underestimated how many people could see me. If something was going to happen it wasn't going to go down inside the bar. I would have to talk to old man Yamamoto again, or one of the captains, to see why this place was worth his time. Leaving the bar a woman in an black sedan with a scope pointed at the bar drew my attention. It would seem that I am not the only one who has taken a interest. I better continue monitoring the situation from a safe distance.
*flash steps and disappears*

Since the weird guy had just disappeared, Lea turned back around and walked back to the woman's table.
"Sorry about that. What can I get for ya?"
He was interested. There was just something... interesting about her energy.
Like he'd mentioned before - this was an Otherborn about as normal as he was.

Shiki turned to Neku. "I'm guessing you and Lea are close?" She assumed. "You seem like you've known each other for awhile."

I nodded. "Lea and I met about four years ago. He basically just... showed up outta nowhere. Needed a place to stay. Some of the older Otherborn took us in, it was around the time I..."
I paused. I didn't really want to talka bout it, in all honesty; I don't talk much about it.
"...around the time I saw my first Crossing."
It's when our powers usually start to appear. I was twelve at the time. And when some Otherborn experience it, things... happen to their heads.
I don't remember anything from before I was twelve - just my name, and the fact that I'm alone in this world.

You didn't have to tell me all that... First Crossings were touchy subjects with most Otherborn, and Neku was no different.
"Yeesh, I didn't ask for your whole life story." Shiki joked, attempting to lighten the mood. "It makes sense though that you two would be close."
"I was about that age too. A week before I turned thirteen." It was a difficult subject for her too, but to be fair, she gave him fact about her own first Crossing.

I shrugged. She'd asked, I'd told her. It wasn't like I was giving her my life story.
I nodded. "Seems to happen like that for a lot of us."

Okay, attempt for a joke: failed. Looks like lightening the atmosphere was out of the question. But she could understand.
"You know, sometimes I wish I was still that innocent, before I witnessed the Crossing. No, not innocent...naive."
"But then again...I pobably would have made some different choices." She thought out loud, realizing too late what she had said.

I shrugged again. I don't know what it's like not to be an Otherborn.
"I wouldn't really know," I muttered to myself, before looking back up at her with a slightly more cheerful expression. "Still - I've made some good friends along the way, and learned a lot. I'm not sure that I'd want to go back, even if I could."
I looked down at my hand. Understatement of the century. Sure, I hate being in charge; sure, I don't really interface well with most people. But get to know me, and the real Neku shines through; I enjoy that feeling.

She nodded her head. "I don't think I could ever go back anyway. I've seen too much to go back. This stuff is normal to me now."
"I respect life a lot more than I did before realizing who I was. And if I never became an Otherborn, then I wouldn't have met you. And honestly, I think I'd stick around just for that." She gave him a small, kind smile. It was the truth, not sympathy. Shiki didn't really have friends. Since meeting Neku, things had been looking up in that department.

I smirked.
"Hey, don't go getting all sappy on me." My words were lightly teasing.
