The note had a very simple message:
Aya Brea,
A source gave me a tip that the Central Intelligence Agency is actively looking to recruit you for their Otherborn Agent Program: Vakarian. Figured you'd want a heads up in case men in black suits show up at your doorstep.

"It is, isn't it?" I grinned. "Sorry if we didn't notice you right away, it gets busy in here." I motioned for him to sit down. "Come on, sit with us for a while. We made a good team earlier."

Shiki nodded in agreement. "The three of us were great. Especially since we met in a situation like that." She giggled. "We should do it again sometime." She looked around at the place. "I didn't think we'd see each other again so soon."

I read the note over quickly but one word seemed to stick. Vakarian... I don't understand. What would the CIA need me for and what was this project about? Quickly, I pushed the note into my pocket and took a long sip of my drink.
"Huh... I was expecting something else, but that's not important. Anyways, your name?"

"I said I'd be around didn't I?" he said, taking a sip of his own drink before drinking a good amount. He chuckled a bit at Shiki's comment, "Well thanks I guess, personally having my face melt off is not a fun activity...I mean, think of my movie star looks!"
He smirked a bit at his own joke before going back to his drink, thinking.

He grinned. "The name's Lea. Commit it to memory." This guy talked with his hands, that's for sure.
Inside his thoughts, however, he was watching her closely. He'd only met a few other Halfers since escaping to Earth, and this was the first female of his kind he'd ever met.
She intrigued him.
Not to mention her biting sarcasm tickled his somewhat strange sense of humor.
"And what's wrong with knowing it when you look this good?"

I chuckled; despite the rocky start, I liked this guy.
I know, I know - I probably shouldn't have been so down on him for being a demon (even if he's not really) when my best friend's a halfer (not that I'm planning on telling either of my new friends that; if he trusts 'em, Lea'll tell 'em on his own time), but there's a world of difference between Lea, who hates most things demonic and who I've known for practically forever, and a strange demon I don't know who, in all likelihood (at least by my experience) is going to try to kill me at some point or another.
"Yeah, having your face melt off doesn't sound at all fun," I told him. "The demon bike is cool, though."

She stood outside on the street, looking at the neon lights, sizing up the joint. She noticed also the black car across the street from the place, and gave an involuntary shiver. She had always wondered why government agencies used cars that screamed "Suit!" when they were supposed to be being discreet. If She wanted to check a place out, she'd use a really unnoticeable car, like a Ford Fusion or a Toyota Camry in blue or red, never a black car, or a VW Bug - EVERYONE noticed bugs. But then, you would never think of a VW bug as a government car, so maybe that wouldn't be such a bad choice after all. She glanced back at the car, there was someone in there all right. She hoped they didn't notice her, not that she was much for them to be noticing. Just another street punk on what looked like a beat-up motorcycle: wearing a helmet, a leather riding jacket, and ragged blue jeans. She sniffed, they probably even thought she was a boy. She looked back at the club with hungry eyes. Something about the place drew her. She wanted so bad to go in, order something. Oilcan would kill her, of course. Clubs, Bars, they were all on the forbidden list. But she was getting tired of the list of things she couldn't do. She was going to be 18 in less than a year. She was practically an adult. It was time to take some chances, start living it up a little. But.... she glanced back at the car... not when the place was being watched. Be just her luck the place would get raided for serving alcohol to minors when she was inside, and if they asked for ID... well, that would make for some real problems. She glanced back at the lights, something about the place continued to call to her. She shook her head and kicked the bike into gear... looks like the closest she was going to get tonight was Dairy Queen... but maybe tomorrow.... Of course, she could always Mention the place to Oilcan...tell him it had a feel, and have him check it out for her. It wouldn't be as much fun... for her at least. She sat for another minute revving up the bike, the turned to ride away.

She grinned sheepishly. "Aha I forgot about that. Well then maybe not too soon."
Shiki giggled at Neku's comment about the bike; she couldn't help it. "Like we didn't know what you thought by the look on your face." She teased him. After all, his face had gone from shock to interest.
It wasn't a surprise to her that she was accepting Sora so easily. With demons or halfers, if they were on her side and gave her no problems or suspicions, then she was fine with them. Of course there were always a few exceptions, but luckily Sora was not one of them.

After making sure her kids were safe at home Aqua decided to check out this club she heard about while passing by a couple. Her old curiosity winning over her mothering heart and had her slipping into the building filled with blasting music and flashing lights.
She avoids the bar though and opts for a table, maybe she can do some dancing later. But the point here is that she heard the word: Otherborn while on her walk home from her normal job. And she wants to know what's going on here. So she sits a little ways from a group of people, but close enough to ease drop. Her blue gaze as her tapping fingers and phone in her pocket on vibrate, just in case.

Sora smirked a bit, setting down his glass. "Yeah sadly Ghost Rider is the one who gets the motorcycle that is made of fire and can go to 300 miles in minutes. No Sora gets the crappy hand me down that is lucky it can go even 1 mile."
He shrugged, then he paused. "...You know. I guess I was surprised. How well some of you took to my appearance, well cept you Neku but Shiki saw me transform. But still...it's not like I'm the run of a mill Otherborn."

I shrugged.
"I hang with a strange crowd. When you're Otherborn, you can't afford to be picky. 'Cept for maybe those people who think they're better than everyone else, especially halfers, but they don't really last too long in this town."
Understatement. The last guys who'd tried to mess with Lea because of his 'heritage' had gotten run outta town by everyone who knew him. Those who'd kept their dislike hidden had, unfortunately, stayed, but eventually, they got tired of what they called 'favoritism' for my 'pet halfer' and left on their own.
"It's a safe haven, here, for anyone who doesn't make trouble. I make sure of that."
And damn if I didn't. I may not think of myself as a leader, but seriously - you don't screw around with my friends.

"I'll be sure to remember it." Ok, no promises there, I still had that one word echoing in my head over and over again. I looked up at the group sitting at the counter. "Could you excuse me for a moment Lea? I quickly need to ask someone something." I got up before he could answer and went over to the man who sent the note over.
"Hey, you're the one who sent over the note correct?" I dug into my pocket and held up the folded note. "Could I talk to you for a minute?" I felt the urge to know what this project the CIA wanted me for. Knowing the government though, it isn't good.

Sora turned to Aya and nodded, "Sharp."
He turned to them, "I'll be no more than a minute." He turned back to Aya and pointed, "the Jukebox over there is a nice private spot to talk."

"Alright, great." I walked over towards the jukebox in silence until we were there. I placed the note back into my pocket. "What's this project Vakarian? Do you know why they'd want me?" I was on the verge of asking another question but I stopped myself. I may as well give him time to answer. "I just don't understand."
