"Alright, got it. I'lll be back in a minute; I hope your friend can convince Shiki to sit with us. It'd be nice to have the company." He walked off, businesslike, across the room, tapping another waiter (on break) on the shoulder and exchanging a couple words before disappearing back behind the counter.

"Sora?" Something flickered in her eyes. Sadness, maybe anger, it was too quick to tell. But it was obvious that she knew. "Yeah I remember him." How could she forget him?

[shadow=red,left,300][/shadow]It wasn't everyday a 20-year-old comes through a door, carrying another 20-year-old; but Sophie was his sister, and Josh always wanted to keep her safe, no matter how awkward it felt. He walked in, found a table nearby the rest of the small 'gang', and set Sophie down. Before he had a chance to sit, Sophie slowly opened her eyes. "Wh—where are we...?" she sort of mumbled.
Josh sat, and looked at everyone that had already arrived. "I believe the Veil? Not too sure, actually. They were talking about going there afterwards, and I we tagged along," he replied.
"Oh... Okay... I wonder if they have some tea. It could really help me wake up a little more," Sophie chuckled.
She looked around. There weren't too many people, but after what happened early, with the out-of-nowhere commotion, why should there be?
"So, you said the guy that was helping you carry me killed that dragon, right?"—She lowered her voice at the question.
"Yep. Him," he pointed at the talking Vaan.
Sophie looked in the direction he pointed. "Well, at least that's over with," she reassured her brother.
"Well, for now. But something's telling me—be it instincts or something; I don't know—that nothing's going to be the same from here on out...just like before." Josh sighed something that seemed like a yawn. The little help he provided to fend off the dragon was nothing, but helping Sophie was a different story. He felt like he had played at least one-quarter of a football game.
Sophie tried to ignore his comment. "I like her hair."—referring to Aqua—"It suits her nicely."
All seemed well. Everyone looked like your average, everyday people. They blended in nicely, like a group of teenagers on a Friday night. But already, Josh knew nobody they had met, and were with now (including themselves), was "normal".

Shizuo Heiwajima was sat in one of the shadier corners of the bar, Tom sat next to him and a small, timid man sat before them. Shizuo had his arms spread over the back of the booth and his head lolled back, an unlit cigarette sat between his lips, and his hands itched and twitched with the temptation to light it. Shizuo was in a bad mood. It was the anniversary of his parents deaths soon, literally a few days away, and it put him in a pretty hostile state to everyone except Tom, Kasuka and Aqua. This poor man, was obviously not one of those exceptions.
Shizuo suddenly leaned forwards and slammed his palms onto the table, their empty glasses jumped around as Shizuo's gold-flecked eyes locked onto the small man's with a growl. Even Tom jumped slightly at this sudden outburst.
"Listen here!" He roared, raising his voice beyond the socially acceptable level. "You owe people money... Right..?" He spoke through gritted teeth. "So how about this, you pay up, and get to walk home rather than limp!" His eyes narrowed as the mans shaking became more violent. "Hell! I'm in a bad mood... So you may not even make it home... Capiché?!" The man suddenly nodded his head.
"Y-y-y-yes sir! I'll uh... I've..." He rummaged into his pockets, before pulling out a battered old leather wallet and throwing it onto the table. "T-t-take it all! Keep... Keep the change! Ju-just leave me alone!" With that done, the man sprinted out the Veil, and without a word, Shizuo stood up with a grumble.
"I need a smoke.
He made for the exit, eyes still blazing gold and his figure hunched forwards in anger before he spotted Aqua and froze. His eyes were back to their usual colour and his general attitude became one of utmost calm.
"Oh, hey Aqua." He said in his deep, monotones before looking at the group surrounding her. "Did I miss my invitation to this party, or something..?"

At the sound of banging hands and clanging glass against a table, Josh and Sophie immediately turn to see what was going on.
They saw a guy yelling at and threatening...? another person. It frighten him, and he ruffled his pockets for his wallet and threw it onto the table. Then he sprinted out the door.
"Well," Josh said suddenly, causing Sophie to jump slightly in her seat. "That sure was a show. That guy ran out of here like his life depended on it."
Sophie stared intently at her brother. "Looking at the way the other guy stared at him, maybe it did," she muttered.

Aqua's gaze turns to Shizuo and she smiles to him, happier already, "Yeah..." She glances around before deciding to throw caution to the wind. "Freak show crossing happened, might be on the news later." She then waves for him to pull up a chair.
"Why don't you join us?" She'd really be more at ease knowing he was in this with her rather than... well... She hopes they never end up against each other.
Namine hums to herself, already noting Aqua's better mood and smiling to herself... Although she wants her coffee darn it all!

Lea popped back out of the back, walking over to where Siki and Vaan were talking. "Here, Shiki," he said, handing her her order. "What you ordered. I'm going on break now... want to join us all at the table?" He smiled, balancing a tray on one arm.

As I watched everyone meet and greet my mind wondered back to the armored figure.
"Who was that guy and why did they think I betrayed him? A better question is, What does this have to do with Sora?"
I snapped out of my thoughts to notice Lea. "Yo Lea, how's it going? Vann here has something for ya." I said pointing to the kid.
I leaned into Vann's ear. "See that guy wearing a bartender outfit? That's Shizuo Heiwajima and word of warning, don't get on his bad side or you'll find yourself on the other side of town in a heartbeat."

Her eyes widened slightly, and she stared at Vaan. A million questions ran wild through her head but none reached her lips. Truthfully, she'd avoided as much mention of Sora as possible. Especially with her talking about him. But now knowing that there were letters, that this boy had contact with him, the strategy flew out the window.
"Is he alright?" She couldn't think of anything else to say, her heart already a bit wild in her chest, part excitement and part nervousness. She turned to Lea when he came over and took her order, simply a soda, "Thanks." To his question she glanced at Vaan and then back to him, "Yeah, I'd like to."

Vaan was distracted by Riku's warning - he glanced over at the guy who he was warned about now talking to Aqua.
He seemed so threatening before...now he's talking to Aqua that anger seems to be lessened, wait, did he say Shizuo? He's one of the guy's on Sora's list!
"Yeah," Vaan agreed, "Lets go back to that table over there."
Vaan swiftly moved from Shiki's spot back to the previous table, as he was close he slowly moved into Shizuo's line of sight. Took out the journal and found the letter with Shizuo's name on it, he slowly lifted it up in front of him.
"It's to you, from Sora Shimomura."

Lea followed them back to the table, set peoples' orders in front of them, and pulled up an empty chair. "So, kid.... Vaan, Izzy said?.... you know Sora?" He fixed Vaan with an interested look. "You need to be careful with that," he said quietly. "Don't know how much you know - but your friend's in a bit of trouble. Still, nice to know he's still around - his friends have been worried. DIdn't know him too well, thought he was kind of a jerk, actually." He chuckled nervously, running a hand through his spikes, before returning it to the table. "But... it was a good thing he did for us. What's he got to say?"

Nami smiles brightly, energy waned, and begins to sip on her coffee, the acidic like taste racing through her nerves in a split second. Man she loves black coffee. She watches Vaan re-appear at their table and holdout a letter to Shizuo, she shrugs at that, not necessarily caring at all.
Aqua glances at the young blond, worrying to herself and not noticing the shake that has been set in front of her, Nami had ordered it for her not herself after all. But she waits patiently to know what's going on.

Shizuo pulled up a seat and parked himself next to Aqua, he glanced around the group, the majority of them he recognized, although there was a blonde kid talking away from the group to someone he recognized as Shiki. Two other strangers seemed to be sat with them, the girl looked a bit out of it and the boy somewhat protective, probably siblings.
Then the blonde boy came over and handed him a letter from Sora, he frowned, remembering the time he'd almost pummeled the guys face into nothingness, probably would have been the only time Shizuo had properly lost control. Didn't really fancy doing so again. He looked across at Aqua with a small smile, it wouldn't be in his best interests to give into that side too much...
"Sora, huh..?" Shizuo said with a frown, as he took the letter.

Vaan sat down at the table, "I know him cause we grew up in the same orphanage together...we were the same age and the older ones of the group, so we looked after the younger ones. Sora liked to tell stories really, keep the younger ones entertained." He paused, "That was before he left to Urbadelphia, I never heard from him until now...for awhile I thought we weren't friends, the way he suddenly just dropped out of contact. But after seeing everything I did today, I wonder if maybe he was just defending me, like he always used to." He sighed for a moment, before getting back to business. The last three letters, the one was for Lea, the other was addressed to him specifically. But on the cover was a warning to NOT open this one until everyone else opened theirs. And of course, Neku, who wasn't here...but Vaan didn't want to wait too long, call it anxiousness. "These are the letters...open them, and um, tell me what they say okay?" Each letter -even Riku's- had a number listed on the top. --- 1

I am sorry. For everything that went down when Hei Nerr attacked, I put you and your kids in danger and I am sorry. I am also sorry for doing what I did, I can't imagine what ran through your head when I killed that man - saving the Network from a crime that they never committed. When I was on the run I found something, demons had a strange USB drive on them, when I uploaded the contents on my computer - I saw it was access codes to bank accounts under your name. Nothing was stolen, yet, but this was only half the codes. I'll do what I can on my end, but it may be too late. Keep an eye on your money, demons don't need money: but if they are it means they're working for someone.
