A few days after the Code Beta meeting, Shiki walked down Main Street to meet up with Aqua and her kids. It hadn't taken long to set things up for her children, and two Otherborns were coming to get them today. The night before she'd talked with the mother, and they agreed to meet outside the store where they'd met for the first time. Shiki had wanted to be there; she knew this was a good choice in the current situation. She wondered how well it had gone over with her kids though.
She glanced at the time on her phone; they'd be here soon. Shiki quickened her pace and soon spotted the blue haired woman she was looking for. She walked up to her, "Hi Aqua."

"Why are you sending us away?" Sininen complains, his brown dye had washed out recently and he now stands in all his blue glory. And complaining per usual. "Do you not want us around anymore?"
Midori shots his twin a glare as Aqua just sighs. She was about to tell Sini that she just wanted her them safe when Shiki runs up. The mother smiles and nods in relief, "Hello Shiki." There is a moment of silence before she remembers her kids haven't met Shiki before. "Oh, I'd like you to meet Sininen-" She gestures to her blue haired son whom has an unamused expression- "and Midori." Her silver haired, blue eyed son smiles softly and gives a small wave.
"Its a pleasure," Midori steps forward and offers his hand to Shiki as which Aqua beams at, glad at least one of her kids is acting civil. And of course Sini just humphs and glares at his mother's back.

Shiki smiled kindly at Midori and took his hand, "Nice to meet you." She then walked over so she could see Sininen, "Upset with your mom, huh? You think she wants you around anymore?" She crossed her arms and leaned forward a little, looking straight at the boy. "Well you know what? That's not it at all. The last thing your mother wants is to send you away, but she knows you need to be safe. That's how much she cares about you and your brother; she's willing to do this no matter how much it hurts because she loves you."
Shiki's voice wasn't scolding, only an informing tone. She had no idea how these boys felt, but she knew by the way Aqua talked she didn't want to leave them.

Sininen just rolls his eyes and says, "Yeah. I know... But who's going to keep her safe while we're gone?"
Aqua can only silently laugh at this, There he goes again... Acting like... him. She looks around though, wondering if there would be enough time to smother her babies with love before they leave. Shiki is right, she doesn't want them to go... But for their safety they need to leave.

"I will," she answered, "As much as I can." Sle stood up straight again, but kept her arms crossed. Shiki gave the boy a questioning look, "That is, if you'll let me." She lookedfrom Midori to his brother, "I want both of your opinions."

Midori is the first to answer, "I've never seen my mother smile the way she did when she came home the day she met you... I'm sure you can handle her just fine." Normally he refused to say much of anything, but when it comes to his mother he's dead serious.
Now its Sininen's turn and he gives Shiki a thoughtful once over before, "I still don't like this... But, if it came down to it, I'm sure you'd keep her from being hot headed." And this is coming from the pissy teenager.
Aqua just smiles to her boys, "Thank you Dori... Sini." Both of the teens just give small smiles to their mom and Sini finally breaks.
"Ah heck... We're really leaving," He drops his bags and rushes over to his mom, hugging her tightly. "Don't do ANYTHING I would do!"
Aqua laughs, "Alright."

She nodded, glad the boys trusted her enough with Aqua. At Sininen's reaction, Shiki smiled sadly. This had to be hard for them. She heard the sound of brakes and turned to see a car parked by where they were huddled together. The Otherborns were here. She placed her hand on Midori's shoulder, and whispered to him, "Watch out for your brother, okay?" He seemed to be the more reasonable one. Then she looked at Aqua and said, "I'll give you guys some time alone."
She walked over to the car where a guy and a girl she recognized were waiting and began to talk to them.

Midori had nodded, he always does anyways. And Aqua smiles to Shiki, "Alright." She then looks to her boys. "Look here you two-" Both of her kids turn their full attention on her and Sininen had let go in order for her to speak more freely- "I won't be around to make sure you two don't do anything stupid... So take care of each other... Remember to wash more than once a week... And Sini, keep your hair natural, if just for me?"
They all laugh at the last part, its such an inside joke that it brings joy to all of their hearts. But its now when Midori says, "Mom... We love you. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well." He then pulls his mother into a loose hug before pecking her on the forehead.
"Love you too, mom," Sininen says evenly and then the mother ruffles her kids hairs.
"I love you too... Both of you, and... Grab your bags, sons... Its time to go," Aqua says as she helps Sini with one of his two bags. Midori only needs one and he takes the bag his mom just picked up. The three turn towards the car and head over.

Shiki chatted with the two Otherborns until she saw Aqua coming over with her boys. The guy she was talking to got into the front seat while the girl opened the trunk for them. Shiki nodded to her, and the girl got into the passenger seat. She waited until all of their belongings were in and then closed the trunk. She tugged open the door to the backseats, and once they were inside she said, "You two take care of each other. I'll keep your mom as safe as I possibly can." She looked at Aqua, waiting to see if she had anything to say before she closed the door.

All at the same time they say, "Be good for you babysitter/s." And then they smile and Aqua waves. "I'll miss you, boys."
Midori leans over and takes the door from Shiki, "Been a pleasure meeting you." Then shuts the door, knowing its best for them to part quickly and before their mother begins crying.

She stepped back from the car as the engine started. The car pulled away and she stared after it until the vehicle was out of sight. The boys were gone, and she just made a promise she intended to keep. Shiki looked at Aqua, "You okay?"

Tears finally slip as Aqua stands still, a sad smile on her face. She knows they've done the right thing and she also know that they'll get through this, she'll get through this. So after a bit of silence she nods and wipes away her tears, "Yeah... We're all gonna be just fine... hey, Shiki?"

Shiki just stands there, unsure of how to comfort Aqua. She stayed quiet until Aqua spoke and wiped her tears away. Her own thoughts surprised her. I wonder if they ever cried over me this way. She pushed the thoughts away. Shiki knew the answer, no matter how much it hurt. She heard Aqua say her name and looked up at her, "Yeah?"

"Is it okay if I stay over at your place for a little while?" Aqua knows she's being childish, but her home was only home because that's where she raised her kids. That's the only place she had felt safe from the world's rage. And now... Now she's only fine because she knows that she has a friend in Shiki. Odd how home can suddenly feel like Hell.

"Of course," she answered. "It's this way." She would've taken her hand, but something she couldn't place held her back. Instead she guestured for Aqua to follow her to her apartment. It didn't take long to get there, and Shiki took out her key and unlocked the door, showing Aqua inside. "Sorry if it's a mess in here," she apologized.
Her apartment was empty in a way. A couch and a coffee table was what served as furniture; she had a TV in front of the table that got limited use from her. The apartment had one bedroom and bathroom and a small kitchen area. In the corner by athe window was a computer, one of the oldest ones that still existed and worked, which sat on her 'desk', it was actually a table with boxes piled under it as file cabinets and a chair that didn't match. A small bookshelf was close to it.
She motioned for Aqua to sit down before going into the kitchen, "Would you like anything to drink?"
