"Yeah...I actually didn't find out on my own," she admitted to Aqua, "Someone else told me."

Aqua shrugs, its doesn't really bug her, but then she says, "Oh, you must mean the Ghost Rider boy, huh?"

Shiki nodded, "Yep, he told me two days after I met you." Should she have acted surprised? No, there was no reason to act around Aqua.

"Well, that's fine... He did help me after all," Looking down to her hands she smiles to herself. "I'm glad I met you both." It amazes her how two such kind people could exists within the very city she has spent fifteen years hiding both from and in. Two people that she met by chance and pure luck.
"Hey, by any chance could I take you up on that drink now?"

She smiled and stood up, "Sure, what do you want? I can make tea, I possibly have coffee, soda, water, your choice."

"Tea, but only if you're having some too," Aqua says softly as she plays with her hands again. "Water if not... And as long as it isn't too much of a hassle."

"It's not a hassle at all," she took the soda off the table and looked at it. "I'm cold in here anyway. Tea sounds good." Shiki smiled and walked into the kitchen, putting away the soda and then putting a kettle of water on the stove. She grabbed cups and tea bags from a cabinet and set them out, and then walked back to the couch.

Aqua just smiles and moves closer to Shiki so their touching when they sit, allowing them to share body heat, "Any better?" Normally on chilly days she's make hot cocoa and snuggle up with her babies under a comforter. Then they would tell stories that take their mind off of the fact that mommy dearest didn't have enough to pay for heat again.
"How do you do it?"

She nodded, a small smile on her face, "Yes, actually." Aqua made her feel so...safe. She actually cared about her well being. Sininen and Midori better no take her for granted. But Aqua's question confused her. "What do you mean?"

Unsure as if this is a touchy subject, but she already brought it up so she'll just have to grin and bear through it if it is, "Be so far from the ones you love for so long, how do you do it?"

She looked at Aqua, then down at her hands, "It's not hard. Simply because they don't care about me. They never really did."

It's not hard. Simply because they don't care about me. They never really did.
"Oh..."Aqua says as she thinks over their conversation.
It's nice when someone actually cares about you instead of acting as if you're an item to be hidden away.
"Oh Shiki," She has a pained expression before moving one of her hands and placing it over Shiki's. "I won't lie, the idea of someone treating you horribly pisses me off... And I know that won't help, but..." She then glares off to the side. "Anyone that can't appreciate what they have and how special of a person they've brought into this world doesn't deserve the right to be happy." Her tone turned to ice by the end and she's glad that Shiki never once brought up her parents before, Aqua is unsure as to what she would do if she knew who they were. All she knows is she wants to teach them a lesson, those heartless mongrels!

Before she realized what she's doing, Shiki grasped Aqua's hand. "I'll explain more. The only reason they probably even kept me was because they thought I'd be normal. That none of my family history would affect me. But they were wrong, and before I could be done away with...a very unwelcome relaitve came to them and well...I had to stay. They feared for their own lives, not mine."

Aqua stares into Shiki's eyes with such an intensity, she felt like she was going to snap. What this lovely girl has gone through brakes her heart, but she keeps quiet just in case there is more Shiki wishes to say. Her hands moving to gather Shiki's into her own and squeezing them softly in support.

Shiki looked down at her and Aqua's hands, "They were never my family. So we have the same blood. I don't consider them much more than that." There was so much she could explain, but for right now, she was quiet.
