"Yeah," I nod and sigh. "Lots of bad people have been doing bad things." I frown to myself and look to the ground. I wasn't about to tell either of them that I was a demon.

I nod, "They can be... But they can be really nice too!" I brighten immediately. "They can be many things~ Human, Otherborns, Halfers, and Demons too!" Okay, so i got excited and started blurting things i should of left be for now... But I just want to trust this guy... And he said things in my head.

I had a look of confusion. I knew what demons were, so many books had mentioned them. But... "What are Otherborns? And Halfers? I've never heard about those before. Are they nice?" I question. I guess I really did want to know about humans... Even though most of them are pretty scary.

A hand fell onto Riku's shoulder. Jack loomed behind the boy in his human form and smiled at the other two who were here "Well,well, well..." he said looking from N then to Kiara and then to Riku "What have we here?" he asked. He could smell the demonic scent coming from the girl, not that her appearance didn't give anything away already. "It appears we have a newcomer to the city!" He proclaimed holding his hand out to N "My name's Jack..."

Again, another person comes from nowhere. A man, not much younger than I, by the looks of it. His voice was kind of... creepy, and he stuck out his hand, like Riku had done. I look at the hand, and then at the boy. "Your hair is awesome!" I comment, looking at the multiple colors. I'd never seen that on someone before, especially in such drastic colors. "I'm N!" I exclaimed. This man looked interesting. Even if he did sound... odd.

"Mhmm..." Jack said as he retracted his hand, this boy was clearly an Otherborn, he had to be from the way that he pulsed in Jack's vision. The way that he blatantly seemed confused about what certain things in the world were, he'd been listening in before hand and had heard about how the boy lived in a house in Urbadelphia, and the city was renowned for it's influx in Demons, Otherborn and Halfers. I nod at Jack. "Good to meetcha, too, Jake!" I didn't realize I got his name wrong.
I frown at Kiara. "Dang... That sounded like something interesting..."
Then I turn back to Jack. "Jake, can you tell me? What are Otherborns? And Halfers?"

Jack almost raised a hand to correct him on his name, but instead he decided that he would let it slide. He was here for a purpose after all! "Otherborn and Halfers, hmm?" Jack asked with a small smirk "Well, I can tell you for a start, that Otherborn are people who possess certain abilities, they're the number one defenders against the Demon threat here in Urbadelphia" he nodded to himself, he wouldn't reveal himself as a Demon yet, if he figured it out, he figured it out. But there would be no harm in not telling this guy at all.
"Halfers on the other hand, share their blood between a Human parent, and a Demonic parent. They usually have powers similar to Otherborn but they're usually slightly stronger but in turn are more likely to be a target for Demons, and they could also cave in to their Demonic side and snap, start killing people... I've seen it happen before" he smiled once again "Generally, they're a dangerous bunch..."

I listened carefully, glad he actually told me. "Wait... So you mean, the city's been being attacked by demons? A lot?" I sighed, looking at the ground. "Nobody told me..." I said quietly. It was becoming redundant explaining this. "I've lived in that mansion on the hill all my life. Never left..."

Jack nodded, feigning a frown and pity "Well, there's been more and more frequent crossings, yes..." He raised an eyebrow for a moment "Say, do you have any abilities or powers..? If you do..." His grin widened slightly "I could take you to find a crossing, and you could see what the world's really like! Riku could come along too, the girl who's name I didn't quite catch as well, I'm sure together we'd be rather safe, I'm quite the dab hand at fighting demons!"

My eyes lit up. "Really? That's cool!" And I took a moment to think. Did I do the thing with the roses, back at the mansion? "I know I can talk to animals..." I replied, not commenting on what happened. I didn't even know if it was me in the first place... It could have been anything.

"I'm up for a little fighting, it's been a while since I stretched my legs if I'm being honest" he nodded when N mentioned he could talk to animals and he mused over it for a moment "It's not completely unheard of to have a purely passive power... Maybe you can call nearby creatures to your aid? Who knows? We'll only find out if you try" he crossed his arms and looked across at the others "Are we going as a group, or will it just be me and N?"

I shook my head. "No! I won't do that! I wouldn't be able to stand if animals got hurt!" I yelled at Jack. "What would that accomplish, Jake!?" I didn't wait for the others to respond. "I'm not going if you're gonna make me do that!"
