Vaan was about to strike the demon when Shiki did it for him, he looked at her as she quickly made her way to Neku and Namine.
"Thanks!" he said. Yelping as Josh and Sofie's attack mowed down several demons, leaving Vaan's path wide open for him to run after Shiki. He managed to get their in time to see Neku preparing his attack.
"Do it!" he yelled in agreement with Namine, "Hit it now!"

"Right!" I slammed my energy down into the ground, then pulled it back up into that sizzling pillar of green energy I'd become so very familiar with. I wasn't so tired this time - the results of Namine's strength bolstering mine. It also felt more.... controlled. But wilder at the same time? I dunno, I'm not good at describing this stuff.
"That'show it's done," I said, grinning. "Now, next point!"

Vaan had turned his attention down to the front of the dragon, where Riku was with that figure from before: the Arbiter. As Neku finished the next wing the dragon shook more, the Arbiter looked around and scoffed: turning around it left the Crossing. The dragon then began to turn and fall, everyone flying off the dragon and into the air.
Vaan screamed as he fell through the seemly endless air, just then, the light from before floated to him.
"Vaan, you only have one shot with this - I am marking the last weak spot!" Vaan craned his head to follow the light as it flew to the dragon below, and marked with a glowing light a spot on it's underbelly.
"Oh you got to be KIDDING ME!" Vaan shouted in the rushing wind, turning his body around and recalling all those action movies in which skydiving was involved. He shot downward like an arrow and fell to the Dragon, he got closer and closer, but soon he could see red lava like liquid below them - he wouldn't make it in time at this rate.
"Damnit!" he yelled, looking at the Arms, "Please tell me you have a distance weapon that can kill a dragon?!"
The rings slowly turned and soon in Vaan's hands a crossbow appeared, he looked at it and at the Arms. "Uh, thanks!"
He aimed the crossbow downwards and took careful aim at the marked area, once he felt the target was lined up he pulled the trigger: the arrow flew downward and pierced into the dragon's chest. It roared as it's body began to disintegrate into flecks of light, and soon the Crossing ripped away with it...

Soon when the light faded the group found themselves laying on the ground outside the Veil. Vaan slowly got up, looking around for the Arbiter...but he was gone, and with the USB drive wit the Lebeau family's financial information.

The twins lay on the ground, hands interlocked with each other's. When they had started falling, Sophie grabbed for Josh's. She had been scared. Truly scared. And Josh had been, too. They'd never fallen from great heights before, and Josh had thought it was the death of them. But in the midst, Sophie was trying to think of something she could miracle-work with Air magic. But before she came to any conclusion, they had all found themselves on the ground.
They let go of each other, climbed to their feet, and collected themselves.
Jumping into a legit question, Josh blurted out, "Okay. Would now be an okay time for someone to explain what's been going on, and why we've had to fight two dragons?" He looked puzzled, but stern.
"Josh." Sophie nudged him, but he ignored her.

Vaan, getting his bearings, turned to Josh and responded, "Good question...if you happen to find that answer, why don't you let me know okay?"
He brushed the dirt off and stood up, a little disoriented by the rush of events. Once he stared at the empty street, the calmness of the area allowed him to clear his head long enough to remember why the Arbiter getting away was bad.
"Wait, that guy! The Arbiter! The USB he had, that had the financial information!" he turned to Namine, "We got to find him, quickly, whatever is on that USB drive could be important!"

"Josh!" Sophie grabbed a hold of Josh's arm before he did anything rash.
"What?" He turned and looked at her, a little angered.
"You need to watch what you say, and how you say it."
"But I just wanted--"
"I know", Sophie cut him off, "We all want to know what's going on, but starting a fight with whoever's on our side isn't going to give anybody any answers."
"Al--alright." Sophie was right. There were more important matters at hand than questions and answers. They needed to find the Arbiter, and figure out what he needed the LeBeau's money for.

Growling under my breath I stand and stomp my foot, "I'm beginning to think all men are untrustworthy... At this rate I'm gonna dump Boss and find a good woman!" Throwing my arms into the arm I let out a stream of vulgar french before stowing my knife away.
"Alright, we need to figure either one of two things! A, what the hell was on on that drive. Or B where the sissy went!" My foot stomps once more, but I force myself to be calm, I need a clear head to be able to-
"Oh no..."
My world stops and drops as I remember what was said... What I was told.

And this just pisses me off more, despite how mopey I am on the outside. Inside I am BURNING with rage.

My head started to pound, beating with the fury that was suddenly pouring in on my brain from an outside source, and I clutched at it with one hand, trying to understand what was suddenly intruding into my mind. I sought its source, found myself facing the blonde who'd been sharing my apartment for the last six months.
"Namine," I said to her, wincing, "don't worry. We'll get that guy's ass back here." I didn't know whether it was just that, or something more, but I needed that rage to go away, because it was starting to make me angry; that inner rage that didn't fully ever go away anymore was clamoring to get loose, to make whatever problem was pissing off Namine LeBeau go away.
"And then," I told her, putting a hand on her shoulder, shoving that anger, and hers, away to arm's length, "we're gonna kick that ass back to where it came from."

Exhaling I feel myself calm and then nod, "We just need to find him first... but what would he need my family's... for...? I mean... Unless he's investing in something or something... And these dragons?" Shaking my head I look to Vaan. "Don't worry about it... the Network is involved anyhow... Or at least some of it is... My friends will be hurt one way or another... But what... Hmmm."

Shizuo was on his feet with the rest of the group, his anger clearly flaring at the prospect of their foe running away, shown by his eyes which were now mostly gold with green flecks, rather than the usual vice-versa. Shizuo paced back and forth, growling irritably as he did so.
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill... That jackass thinks he can get on my bad side this week and just run away from it?! Oho no... Kill, kill, kill... When I'm done with him, that guy'll wish he was that Flea, Izaya... Kill, kill, kill... I'm gonna' pound him do far into the ground, he'll pop out again in China! The little maggot!"[/b]

Vaan kept an apprehensive eye on Shizuo as he continued to speak to Namine, "Namine what do your parents do? I mean...if they have that much money, are they politicians? Do they own a business?"
Suddenly among the many things Vaan suddenly had a spark, an idea, "...do they have any ties to your Network?"

Aqua frowns and shakes her head, "Shizuo..." She doesn't tell him to calm down because honestly at this moment she's a bit miffed herself. "... We need to keep our heads... Come on, help me brain storm? We can crush him later when we find him... all the way to China and back if you want."

"My parents? Well besides running a school from hell?" I sigh and then flip my hair back. "My father is successful business man, don't know what he does, don't care. My mother is a fashion designer of little girls clothes, ya know, the whole princess deal?"
His next question has me pausing, "Well yes, they do... Why do you ask, hon?"

Vaan was floored by what he heard...as well as Namine calling him 'hon', but that went out the window quickly. He calmed himself down though, he needed to speak slowly and carefully, make sure everything is caught up. To double check himself, he even pulled out Sora's Journal and read the article on the Network as he explained.
"Okay...so, Arbiter steals data regarding the Lebeau family fortune. It just so happens the family has some funding into this group called the Network. The Network...according to Sora, acts as a legal protection for Otherborn not to be captured and studied by the United Nations...the Network manages to keep afloat by having political and economic influence." he paused before continuing, "if the Lebeau family lost all their money...the Network would crash! Arbiter removes a threat in his way through economic failure! It makes sense!"
Vaan felt elated for a moment, before suddenly his joy seem to fall. "No...wait, that can't be right. Sora said the rise of the Otherborn and the fall of the humans would happen if the Lebeau's lost their money...but what I just said makes it sound like the opposite. Something's not right...we're missing something important."
